"To Gnomegarde!" says Lothlién, quite refreshed by the night of rest

The dwarves say their farewells and go back into the temple to analyze and catalog everything inside. The four of you walk through the ruined settlement, noticing a few clouds over the mountains. Luckily there are no signs of a dragon flying over them.

You reach the outer wall and a see a group of four orcs stading in the canyon, some 80 feet away from the wall. One of them spots you and points to your group, shouts something to the others in their own tongue and start charging towards you.

Orcs initiative: 8

Lia goes first.

Lia has her owl fly down, flashing past one of the lead orcs as Lia herself lifts her crossbow for an attack.  The owl is giving the help

After shooting, Lia steps back behind the others, and inside the broken gates.  (Just trying to get out of line-of-sight for ranged attacks.)

Action: Attack with crossbow.

Free Action: have Familiar give the help action.

Movement: back up to 30 feet.

To hit: 18 / 8

Damage: 5

The owl flies and distracts one of the orcs, who stops for a while giving Lia the moment she needed to take aim carefully. A bolt flies through the air and hits the orc in the left shoulder. It cries in pain, takes the shaft out and growls at you.

Lothlién goes next.

Lothlién shoots a bolt of fire out of nowhere on the nearest Orc, without much thought.

Firebolt to hit: 7 / |Damage: 1

(OOC: oh wow, those rolls!)

Lothlién's firebolt goes among the orcs without hitting any of them.

OOC: you don't need to wait for me to post to take your turn. Also, if you already have enough information you can even post ahed of your turn.

Rhok takes aim at the orc hit by Lia, and looses a bolt at it, after shooting he moves behind cover as well

The bolt flies and hits the orc right between the eyes. It goes down in a thunderous crash. The other orcs do not seem to notice that their companion is down and keep screaming at you.

It's Xarroth's turn now.

Xarroth sighs, "barbaric simpletons..." As he weaves magic, fire gathers into his hand before he slings it towards the brutish figures...

Fire Bolt

Fire flies towards the orcs, hitting one of them. The orc cries but keeps rushing at you.

Seeing two spellcasters standing there, the three remaining orcs move and dash aggressively* towards the gates, ending their movement 20 feet away from you. Each throws a javelin choosing a target at random (1 for Lothlién, 2 for Xarroth).

One of the javelins flies off target, missing Xarroth for a few inches. The second one hits Xarroth in the shoulder and the last one hits Lothlién in the leg.

*: Aggressive. As a bonus action, the orc can move up to its speed toward a hostile creature that it can see.

Lia steps back into view long enough to send a bolt in at the most injured-looking one of the orcs.  Her owl fmailiar dives down to distract at the last moment.

Damage: 4

The flaming bolt reignites the already smoking orc. He falls to the ground and stops moving.

Lothlién flings another Firebolt at the nearest orc

The fire bolt hits the orc at an akward angle, causing little damage.

Rhok grins, looks at Lia, before taking aim at the Orc she hit "Lets thin their herd a bit more, shall we?" Leans out of cover, and looses another bolt, then ducks back into cover

Rhok's bolt hits the orc, he looks hurt, but still stands to fight.

It's Xarroth's turn now.

Xarroth recovers from the attack before making some distance between himself and the orcs while snarling and slinging a bolt of fire towards the same orc that Rhok hit.

The orc falls, engulfed in flames. The on;y surviving orc runs the rest of the way, swinging a greataxe at Lothlién, the only enemy he doesn't see hiding.

Attack: 13 Damage: 8

As Lothlién falls unconscious to the ground, the orc takes a quick look around and continues running, ending his movement in front of Rhok.

It's Lia's turn now.

Lia steps out again and sends another crossbow bolt out at the final orc, just as her owl flies in to distract the orc.

The bolt hits the orc on his back, making him roar.

Lothlién has to make a death save, then it's Rhok's turn.
