"Let us make haste slowly, perhaps we can surprise the monster" Rhok walks up to the first set of double doors that Norbus described, looks at the party, nods his head, and slowly pushes open on of the doors, and listens
Dazlyn and Norbus are grateful at your disposition and commend your valor, but will prefer to wait here until the temple is secured.
You walk to the front door of the temple. The stone hinges make a grinding noise as you turn them. The light from outside lets you see the outline of the foyer. There is a flat wall to your right, while the one to your right has an opening in the middle, which must be the secret door that Norbus mentioned. At the end of the foyer is another set of double doors, one of the is already open. You can't see further away.
Both Lia and Lothlién can see further up (advantages of having darkvision). The altar room behind the open door seems empty. There are pillars holding the ceiling and you can barely see a table at the end, but can't see the far end of the room.
Sabastian flies onwards. She can see the whole altar room. It's roughly 40 by 40 feet, with rounded corners on the far end. There are 4 pillars supporting the ceiling and a stone altar. There are no signs of mice or anything that looks edible. But she can see something like an enormous mold formation in the celing on top of the altar and another one in the wall to the right of the door.
Lia informs the others of all of this and has the owl fly back out of the area. "I don't know what monster the dwarfs were speaking of." She informs the others. "Maybe it already left?"
Rhok takes in the information, "If its been a sealed temple, what would be present to form huge mold formations? I could understand small bits of mold here and there....can any of you light up the room, perhaps that could cause whatever's in there to move, and with this foyer, it could be a kill zone to take the thing out"
"I can try something...". Lothlién concentrates for a second, whispers something and moves his hands, shooting a Fire Bolt across the room, hoping it can provide un useful bit of light, and maybe scare the monster into moving.
The bolt of fire crosses the room undisturbed. The pillars casts their shadows across the room and you can't see anyone in there. As the fire reaches the wall behind the altar, you can see the mold on the ceiling is yellow, and it slithers to your left, away from the fire.
"Oh, I see, the molds are the creatures then." Lia says. "Good thinking." She says, nodding to the others. "My familiar saw two of them, so there is multiple creatures, not just the one mentioned."
Rhok readies his crossbow, lights a torch, and heads inside along the uninterrupted wall looking for a clear shot at one of the molds, and readies to toss the torch into the room to provide him with light
Rhok throws the torch in the middle of the room. The fire illuminates the full room. From his point of view he can see one of the ochre jellies still clinging to the 10 foot high ceiling, oozing left.
The initiative order is as follows: Xarroth: 20 Lothlién: 13 Monsters: 13 Lia: 9 Rhok: 6
"Witness a fragment of His power, creature. For this is only mercy." A shimmer of colour comes from underneath Xarroth'srobes before settling a piercing blue-white. A beam of the same colour drowns out the orange of the torch as it streaks towards the jellies...

Lia will send her owl in to do a quick scout of the area.

"His Shining Scales! Did you all see that move?!" The dragonborn tries to remember if he knows of any creatures that show those characteristics.
