Silent chuckles at Alton’s suggestion. If he gets any bigger next time, there’ll tales of tarrasques running around across Wildemount. A tarrasque with a big sword.
Silent will eventually excuse himself from the conversation with Fray to watch the musicians play. At some point when a break in the performance is reached he’ll ask Alton,You know this tune?
Balassar just shrugs "I do good some nights and badothers." he freezes for a moment looking down at his drink "I don't really know if you know what happened to my company, but since then been hard to just sleep or focus on living. So I just keep going day by day, coin by coin." he just takes a drink "How about you?"
(OOC: As a Felderwin native, Alton would recognise the tune yes, and be very familiar with it and the lyrics.)
Balassar, Moss nods. The Company's fine, for the most part. You looking for anyone in particular? She takes a swig of ale. You should enlist again. Come hunting for cricks with us. It feels good to chase the rats down. Well, not good exactly. It won't feel good till we retake the Garrison. But it feels better. To me at least.
Balassar just shrugs lifting the mug to his lips "Everyone I knew is dead, from Solomon to Grunt. So no need to ask about anyone in particular." he just smirks "Naw, I'm good with how life is now. I'm still fighting cricks and keeping the empire safe, just get to pick and choose the missions now. For instance taken on some giants...that was pretty fun. Though you let us know when you all make your move, we will be there to help."
He just takes a quick sip "If you don't mind me asking I always noticed you were focused on getting the cricks, why is that?"
Alton chuckles thinking about the tales that would spread from that, "Yeah, haha, people might start calling us the Tarrasque Pack." He nods to Silent's question about the song, "Oh, yeah. It is a popular tune in Felderwin. It is basically a go to song for most musicians that come from Felderwin." He looks around seeing that him and Silent have pretty much been left to themselves, "Hey, lets go see if the kitchen has any scrap meat and bones to take to our furry friend. Maybe we can get her to be more comfortable around us. We probably should get a spare bowl or two and a waterskin for them too."

Balassar, Moss looks at you strangely. They're the enemy, right? They're the danger to the Empire. That's not new - they've always been a menace. We should just go in there and wipe them off the face of Wildemount.
Balassar just nods "As long as they are trying to kill me and destroy the empire. Tell me Moss what's the motive behind why you fight?" he just takes a swig "And I mean the real reason, not some bull one that you'd give someone on the street."
Alton and Silent, the kitchen reserves its leftover meat for the inn's own dogs, but you can buy some meat for a gold piece - enough to fill the wolf up and then some. Dried meat would be available at a general store in the morning, and be cheaper (same as rations).
Balassar, Moss scowls at you. Dunno why... well, it's not like it's a secret in the Stalkers, and you're one, or used to be. The day the Garrison fell, a friend of mine was there. She'd broken her leg a week before, and couldn't join us out on patrol. So, you know, she's probably dead now, and that means I'm going to kill every crick I can find until we retake Ashguard and I can maybe find her body, what's left of it, and... she trails off, clearly fighting back a mixture of anger and grief.
Balassar, Moss takes a long time to answer. No. Maybe. Yes? I don't know. I don't care. I can't make sense of it until Ashguard is retaken and I can get some answers. Do you understand? And... I guess it helps to talk about it with you, but I don't want to talk about it any more right now. I really want to drink. In fact, I reckon I can drink you under the table.
To Alton, Silent says, Hmmm... reckon Balassar oughta have final say since he found the mutt. Can't say I got too many ideas myself, they didn't name the animals much back home.He scratches his beard for a moment, evidently thinking hard. He had some teeth, yeah? Fang. Or Tooth. All I got.

Balassar, make a Persuasion check, with advantage because of your common history in the Ash Stalkers.

Silent chuckles and will follow Alton to the kitchens in search of some wolf-bait.

Alton hands over a gold piece for some raw meat and heads out to where they left the wolf behind, "What do you think we should name the wolf we have?"
