Zombie 1 drags itself over to the door, while the other zombies clamber to their feet and start to follow. With the doorway acting as a bottleneck, only Zombie 1 is able to make an attack against Balassar, trying to slam into him but missing (21 against AC).
Balassar snarls, as he evokes the strength of giants, the silver glint of his dragonborn scales catching the light as he pivots on one heel.
"Then we cut them down one at a time."
He brings his scimitar in a swift arc, the blade humming through the air with practiced precision, aiming to cleave into the rotting flesh of the zombie that dared lunge at him. He then lashes out in a follow up arc.
With the wall between him and the nearest zombie, Rhane steps to the west to clear his lines of fire and aims carefully through the door at zombie Z3. Rapidly firing again, he shoots at Zombie Z5!
(Move 5 feet to the west, then hunter’s mark on Z3. Sharpshooter and Hordebreaker to fire the two arrows.)

Beyond the doorway, you see into the large room, the floor strewn with further bodies that don't appear to be moving, and a pile of more corpses in the corner. It doesn't appear to have much in the way of furniture, and the stench is truly awful.
Rhane walks into the room, slowly and carefully...
Several bodies near the far wall jerk to life, so to speak. Jerk to movement, at least. And there is a growl from the corpse pile.
We will keep the same initiative order, but this is Round One of the new combat. You can see the five zombies that have been stirred up - they are prone - but you don't see the growling creature in the pile to the north-east of the room.
Alton and Balassar, if you feel you would have followed Rhane into the room, you can move up to ten feet to reposition yourself before starting.
