Urukar silently follows the other and prepares for his scrub-down.  He relaxes in one of the baths, waiting for a quiet moment, before pronouncing, "Rayner and I clearly loosened the stone door..."

"If you say so." Valen agrees with a shrug.

Auric:

Making sure Floon has the opportunity to clean himself as well, Auric asks him, "So, what's your story, Floon?  How did you end up under the boot of a Xanathar thug?"

Floon shivers at the memory. "Well...they thought I was Renaer! They kept asking me about some stone and a vault... and then when they figured out I wasn't him they tortured me for fun!" He ends this with a large lip quiver, and successfully keeps from bursting into tears with a mighty effort on his part.

"Ya, that sounds like him," Melody nods, "he's always been an idiot."

Floon just shakes his head and leans back, trying to control himself.

Auric:

"What about you, Melody.  What's your story?  How did you come to be chained in a gang hideout?" asks Auric as Melody brings up the half-orc thug.

"Oh, you know," Melody says, "I had a good thing going for me. But then the idiot half-orc showed up and I wanted out."

Rayner: " Well seems you had bad company, miss Melody. What will you do now?"

Rayner does not wait for an answer and says: "Well can I propose a deal? Companions, since Miss Melody helped us rescue Master Floon, she should also recieve a compensation for that effort. And Master Floon, you would not opposse this? Can you tell Master Volo of her involvment so that he can reward her too?"

"Whatever."  valen says with a shrug, not really paying too much attention to the discussion.  He has finished washing up by now, so prepares to get out of the bath.  "Let's get this over with and get that reward already..."

Auric:

Auric has already gotten out of the bath and is scrubbing his scales with fine sand.  “That works for me,” he says to Rayner, adding, “Melody kept her word and stayed in the fight even against the strange aberrations.”

 Floon nods. "Yes. Volo will be pleased, I'm sure!" He too gets out of the bath and gets dressed.

Rayner: "Well seems we got an understanding! Time to celebrate at the Yawnning Portal!"

Rayner get's done washing and get's dressed. He also comments to the group if we should look for a Magic shop to sell the spellbook. He tries to remember if he knows where one of those is located.

Mal'thrae puts his shirt and vest back on, stretches, and smiles.

"We'll sell it tomorrow. Maybe ask Durnan if he knows where a shop is."

Rayner: "That's fine, we need is too take Master Floon to the safety of is friend."

Rayner's not sure if there even is a magic shop in Waterdeep.

You feel rested, rejuvenated, and more powerful even. You are all level 2 now as enter the Yawning Portal again. Volo sees you immediately and motions you over to his table. He wraps Floon up in a big hug, joyously thanking all of you. Food and drinks are ordered for everyone, and Volo finally sits down from vigorously shaking hands. Simply magnificent. I knew I went to the right group. Details! Was it harrowing?

Auric:

Please with the attention, Auric turns to Melody and says, "We discussed the rescue in detail as we cleaned up.  Perhaps you would like to tell the tale in whole or in part?  I can fill in any details as you wish from before you joined us."  Auric takes the HELP action to give Melody advantage on her storytelling, but he comments as little as possible as long as her description of his actions is suitably heroic.

Melody smiles and pulls out her Viol, spinning the tale in song, bolstering the party's rescue of Floon and herself.

As Melody spins the tale, adding in just the right embellishments where needed, more people gather around to here it. There are gasps when she tells of the giant rabid sewer rat. Looks of wonder as she describes the hordes of thugs that fell by the dozens at your feet. There are laughs, cheers, and even a few tears as Melody somehow works in a tragic romance subplot. At the end of it, she gets a standing ovation, and none of you will probably ever have to pay for a drink here again.

Volo claps the longest and loudest. Glorious! Simply glorious! Surely one of the greatest stories ever told here! Maybe I should write....nevermind. There is the matter of reward! He gets a rather sheepish look on his face. Ah... I did promise you a hefty sum, yes. I confess that I have but few coins to spare. But never let it be said that Volo reneges on a promise! Allow me to present something much more valuable. He holds out a scroll tube. The deed to a remarkable property here in Waterdeep! We’ll need a magistrate to witness the transfer of ownership. I’ll arrange a meeting with one after you’ve inspected the estate and deemed it satisfactory.
