Remmy and Veryes instinctually go to follow up the brutal atttack. But they stop quickly as they realize the dryad’s skull has been squashed and pressed into the tree. The oozing gore mixed with sap is the only thing keeping the lifeless body upright.
All the locusts stop chirping and drop to the ground as well. Trynwyn, still inside the cocoon of roots, the charm spell fades away. The terror of what possibly was next sets in as he is still trapped.
Mind back in the battle, although too late to actually contribute, he runs to Trynwyns prone body. Gripping the bark and roots starts to rip them from Tryn in an attempt to free him.
"Come, gimme a hand" he yells to no one in particular.
((Would a strength check be applicable? Or do the roots need cutting to remove?))
(A strength check would’ve been fine, now that we are using blades - it’s not needed)
After a moment of work the three halflings begin pulling away the roots and branches from their friend. The sickle makes short work, slicing through cleanly.
Trynwyn for sure feels a scorpion crawl out of his pants and scurries away.
Veryes tries not to laugh but can't help herself and blurts out "Holy Crap! I think Tryn just shit a scorpion! Did you see that!" Nearly doubled over laughing she finally gets herself under control and pats Trynwyn on the back. "I'm sorry. I know that whole thing wasn't very funny at all. Looks like we'll have to keep on our toes around here. The kobolds may be the least of our problems!"
Veryes will search the dryad and also make a sketch of it in her book while asking Trynwyn "Hey Tryn, if you're feeling ok think you can pick-up the kobold tracks again?"
Trynwyn begins to scour the ground in the area of the tracks. Able to keenly keep the trail of the tracks, you spend most of the day and evening following them. The environment is changing from wooded hillside to rough cliffs idea and more mountainous rocks.
The loose dirt of the ground has transitioned to gravel and slate stone. The wind has grown fierce with the altitude and lack of trees. It will be another hour or so until night falls. It’s time to decide if you want to make camp or continue further. (You know prolonged hiking and adventuring will result in chance of exhaustion, traveling too long after dark.)
As the world is starting to darken into night. You see bats begin to take to the night sky, distance howl of wolves begin to resonate and echo.
Veryes looks around and says "Seems like a good time to get camp set-up. We should look around for a really safe spot. Somewhere we can see if anything approaches us" Looking to Tryn again. "You seem to have a knack for knowing the terrain. Think you could find us a good spot?" Veryes would like to help him do so.
"Seems as good a place as any. Though I'd say we should probably have at least one of us keep a watch, what with wolves and strange magical woodfolk about."
Rimmy tries to find a comfortable spot leaning against a tree.
Veryes nods to Rimmy (wherever it is they find) "Fine by me too. We should definitely keep watch! I'm in pretty good shape so don't mind pulling a long shift of others need rest. My voice just gets a little scratchy if I don't sleep enough so I'd only be able to sing a couple inspiring songs tomorrow."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
After taking most of the hour to find a spot, your hard pressed to find anything that sticks out to you as ideal. You do come to find a flat surface next to a large boulder. Sleeping next to it will at least block the door wind from one direction. The party gets nestled up to the rock and sets a small fire to keep warm for the night. Veryes volunteers to take watch all night while the rest sleep.
Perception check: 19
(remember that while you’re sleeping you remove your armor. If you choose to keep it on you will suffer one point of exhaustion upon waking up due to the uncomfortable conditions)
Veryes has a hard time keeping awake let alone being alert enough to regularly check the perimeter. He finds his head nodding occasionally before shaking himself awake.
From the wolves ambush, they trampled over each other trying to get to Veryes and only one strikes true, but it is able to drag him to the ground. Kondo wakes to a scream as a wolf sinks its teeth deep into his neck and clavicle.
The shouts and the scuffle is enough to wake the whole party, but the wolves still get the best of them and are ready to pounce again!
Veryes shouts in excitement "Nice whack Rimmy! She's goin down!" and casts Chill Touch Attack: 11 Dmg: 5

Trynwyn is now struggling to untangle himself.

He digs the gardening sickle from his pack, using it to help free Trynwyn.

(Sorry, must’ve missed that bit)
After searching the dryad, you find no material possessions, just sap like Ichor.
(so no, not really.... but you can take some sap!)
(No worries. I'll take some sap. Never know. It might come in handy :)
