Orin quickly knocks on Doty’s chest, hearing a soft clang, followed by the echo.
Cinta, Orin, and Leon follow Doty to the Darrington estate as the sun sets. You all find yourselves outside Taryon’s office, and as you enter, you see a large, tattooed goliath and a half-elf woman, and Taryon, with Lawrence by his side.
“I have called you all together for this meeting because I am looking to form a new team of adventurers. Due to my age, I can’t exactly indulge myself in such fun, but I believe you all would be a great fit with each other. The goliath here, Arrin, is here for community service because of a brawl he took part in by the Grumpy Lily. I called in a favor with the lawmaster because of the capabilities of his kind. I will pay for your expenses and for the time being, you will be working out of Deastok.”
He looks at Orin. “Larry told me you had borrowed a book from my library. As Doty must have told you, I would like it back.”
He turns to Cinta, “Believe me when I tell you, being a part of this team will provide good cover for you. I once protected an elven woman in a similar way.”
His gaze shifts to Leon. “I was able to locate that book you asked for. However, I’m not the kind of person to give things like that out for free. If you can prove yourself in this team, you may have it.”
He looks to Zoya. “This is what you came for, correct?”
Cinta had sobered up a little on the walk over to the compound and as Taryon introduced the others and spoke she responded, " You have delivered me into a better world than I have ever dreamed of, I will do whatever you wish, Herr Darrington."
" So.....what are we doing?", she said with excitement only slightly slurred.
Orin returns the book to Taryon: „Am i right to assume, that in exchange for information about the adventures in this book, you would like me to join this adventure?“
“Nothing complicated yet. I’ll need to see your capabilities first.” You all watch as he nods to Doty behind you. Doty opens the door and a man, a human, enters the room. The man stands at about 6ft tall and has a very large build. He has dark brown hair and eyes. He seems to have been getting very little sleep recently, which you can tell by the bags under his eyes. Taryon continues, “This is Mister Hayes, a lumberjack that works in the Cyrengreen Forest.” Hayes speaks up with quite the deep voice. “There is some kind of evil force that doesn’t want me and my men in the forest. Its been haunting us for the last few days and none of us are willing to continue working until its been dealt with.”

Cinta looked quizzical, " What sort of force? Have you seen anything?"
The lumberjack shakes his head. “We don’t know what it is or why it’s tormenting us. Some of the men see floating, sparkling lights. Others claim they turned into wild animals. Many of them have just fallen asleep on the job.”
Arrin eyed up each and every one of his companions as they entered through the door, a small smile appearing on his face as none of them seemed like they'd best him in strength. An even bigger grin appeared on his face as he learned his community service involved being an adventure, it was definitely better than picking up trash. Looking at the lumberjack he asks, "What has the spirit been doing to you, and is it somewhere specific in the woods or just all over?"
“It moves to wherever we go. We refuse to put up with it any more. None of us are going back to work in the forest as long as this keeps happening. Nobody has died or disappeared yet; it only started a couple of days ago.”
He shakes his head. “We don’t know what it is. That’s why I’m here.” Taryon looks over all of you before speaking. “You shall meet by the east gate tomorrow morning. Some of you already have arrangements at the Shady Bough, but a couple of you will have guest rooms here.” As he says that, he looks at Zoya and Arrin.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Leon stands back, listening to the conversation. He is at a military-rest stance if anyone has any military training in the group. After a while he speaks up, his voice soft but carrying. "Some sort of nature spirit or some sort of unfriendly other that wishes you away from that area..." He looks thoughtful, one hand lifting from its place behind his back as he rubs his chin thoughtfully.
Nature check to see if he recognizes anything about what is being described by the lumberjack: 10
Giving a shrug, Leon puts his hand back down and glances around. "I can't think of any specific creature that can do those things, but I bet we can get to the bottom of it once there."
Arrin grins and says, "Just point me in the right direction and I'll swing with my axe. I just hope whatever this is will provide a challenge. So far this town has been nothing but a disappointment on that front."
Cinta shrugged, " Seems like it really doesn't want to hurt anyone, maybe just wants them away from its home......so hopefully there will be very little axe swinging."
" Aren't there other trees you could go kill for money?", a little of her Aunt showed through with the last statement.
The large lumberjack shakes his head. “We don’t chop down trees too often, it’s usually just a balance. We keep the forest from overgrowing and we get lumber to use and sell.”

" Well.....we'll try to explain that to her/him...whoever it is."
Internally Cinta was exploding....she had just talked back to a Zemnian! And no one had struck her!......Taryon was the best!

Cinta levered herself back to her feet mostly through leaning on Leon, " Ok...lets go. "
" I'm Cinta, Herr Leon."
Orin quickly knocks on Doty’s chest, hearing a soft clang, followed by the echo.

Zoya looks over the group Tary has assembled and feels a kind of excitement she's been missing for a while.
"I came for coin. Where will this lead us?"
Cinta looked quizzical, " What sort of force? Have you seen anything?"

You try to remember anything that might fit that description, but you fail to think of any creatures that can do things like that.
Giving a shrug, Leon puts his hand back down and glances around. "I can't think of any specific creature that can do those things, but I bet we can get to the bottom of it once there."
