"What is more likely? The slimes are some sort of travelers like us that just happened to portal into a room full of powerful artifacts or that they are some sort of defensive measure used to protect valuable artifacts. If they are the second and not the first then Sir Galenir Razgerah likely knew of them. The servant was ignorant of them or complicit in an attempt to let the slimes kill us."
"Very well then," remarks Badrizar. "I will move along, but rest must come soon. This world has proven both hostile to body and spirit. Regarding the horses...well...I doubt they'll be as heavily guarded as these artifacts."
"Well, let's go ask him, then. If Fancy Feet betrayed us, we can kill him with these new toys. Then take the horses. Kroneker can easily tame the horses. And the dogs, too. Dogs are good boys."
"It is my understanding that animals kept on estates such as these are used and trained for a variety of services. Since they are trained I do not believe you will need to tame them. That would likely be a waste of time."
Kroneker just frowns and looks sternly at the warforged.
"And what are you gonna do if a horse accepts only one rider - its master, Tin Man? And Kroneker can do much more than just tame an animal, Kroneker can understand animals. Kinda. I can tell if it's hungry, or thirsty, or angry at something you said - some animals are not as stupid as you think. Same is true for dogs. Or any beast, for that matter. If we encounter a hostile beast, Kroneker may be able to pacify it. Or maybe even make it a friend with some luck. And speaking of which, I think it's time for Kroneker to become the alpha. Now be quiet and let Kroneker concentrate. Kroneker needs a minute."
Saying all that, Kroneker will proceed to use his Primeval Awareness to locate every guard dog and/or other potentially lethal animal in the mansion (assuming he can have 60 seconds to concentrate), and if he successfully does so, Kroneker will proceed to go around recruiting all the animals to his pack for the upcoming battle (if it happens).
Selthar takes a moment to locate the dagger he threw in the fight. After that, he says "My attempts at negotiations seem to have failed. I suggest one of you lead the next discussion and I will follow your direction. Now it is time to move towards the stables and on our way possibly deal with Sir Galenir Razgerah."
Kroneker focuses for a minute, discerning the direction of the mastiffs and horses. There are other beasts- as you'd expect of a town of 8,000 people and the nearby sea, wetlands, and hills.
Kroneker has no trouble quickly and quietly locking the mastiff upstairs into one of the unoccupied guest rooms, returning to the others to leave the building from the front. When you reach the stairs on the way out, the left wing door opens. The blue-skinned half-elf stands in the doorway, dressed in a green fine long doublet, with a rapier in its sheath and a shortbow in hand. It is hard to tell the gender of the elf. The elf's eyes narrow and track the group for a moment as they hurry, free hand on the door. Almost in the same moment, a servant opens the first floor right wing door and closes it behind him in a hurry, hefting a sack with a link of sausage hanging out of it. You hear someone speaking authoritatively in the right wing when the door is open, and the servant rushes to the opposite wing in front of the party, paying them no mind. The elf half turns into the door, keeping an eye on the party. In a bright, youthful voice, the half-elf speaks loudly, but not in a shout. "Naneth, im heni- i near nin gollo na- hi!" The half-elf turns back to the party, now seemingly speaking to you, though still in a raised voice."Thír na thúl mín baur n-galad."((Elvish- Selthar and Badrizar understand.))
Mother, I understand the place of my cloak now! Let's look to where we need be.
The elf keeps looking at the party for another moment, but then closes the door, never entering the main hall. You each notice something... (incoming PMs)
You quickly move outside, with Kroneker leading the way toward the stables as his earlier focus showed him the general direction of, going off a guess. Within 200 feet, you find the stable in the haze. It is just big enough for four horses, and you hear the work of a blue-skinned young man as he is busy preparing the horses with saddles. He just finished the first of the four. He is in a long shirt and no shoes, with messy black hair and groggy eyes as though he just crawled out of bed. The horses themselves look to be healthy, typical riding horses. The young man turns to the sound of Badrizar's armor, looking down at the blanket in his hands, perhaps unaware of the other two. "I'm hurrying," he says, "it just doesn't feel like it's really morning." Eyes finding Badrizar, he turns his head curiously. "Oh, uh... who're you?"
When you come within 15 feet of the young man, the haze implodes once again, extending your vision to 75 feet.
"That elf is no friend," remarks Badrizar to his mates as the three of them make their way to the stables. "And which of you stole a cloak?"
Upon reaching the stables and encountering the sleepy-eyed youth, Bradrizar answers cordially, "A friend of Razgerah, of course! And thank you for preparing the horses."
Upon hearing the words "stole a cloak", Kroneker flinches and frowns, and turns around to look at the house for a moment. Kroneker thought they can easily just kill the enemies here, if they indeed turn out to be enemies, but the blue half-elf changed the whole equation. Kroneker will say nothing for now, deep in thought as to his course of action.
Selthar motions for the others to follow him and says "Come we should let him finish preparing the horses." He moves away from the estate and stables. When they are out of earshot he quietly starts talking. "As I see it we have three options. Assume my attempt at negotiations was dealt with dishonestly and attempt to steal the horses and leave. Assume the same dishonesty and leave on foot. Lastly, assume that the slimes were not known to Sir Galenir Razgerah and attempt to continue our agreement in good faith. In the first two, we would have a potentially hostile force left behind. I doubt with the current situation that we could obscure our trail. This stasis phenomenon makes it very easy to track where we have gone. Also, it does not appear that the manor is only preparing for the one dozen people I specified in the negotiations with Sir Galenir Razgerah. Any attempt to face them by force now would surely end in our deaths. Whatever we decide we need to do so quickly. We could probably bribe the stable boy"Selthar holds out several gold coins from the bandits from earlier "so that he would let us finish preparing the horses and go back to take a break." At this point, Selthar stops and waits to hear what the others think.
"Kroneker bloody told you we should've just killed them and taken whatever we wanted, now look at us! Fancy Feet is trying to amass an army, probably tried to kill us, and that Blue Lady marked Kroneker with something! Oh wait. Kroneker has an idea."
At this point Kroneker will put an evil grin on his face, and turn to the forest.
"Kroneker can't convince the dogs to fight their masters, but there are other beasts around. Quite a lot of beasts, actually. And Kroneker can probably befriend most of them. Kroneker will gather an army of his own and kill everyone here!"
Having said that, and losing the last bits of patience in him, Kroneker will proceed to do just that - he will go around the area to every beast he sensed earlier with his Primeval Awareness and try to recruit them to fight for him.
Badrizar sifts through the options explained by Selthar. "If Razgerah acted dishonestly--which seems to be the case--and wished us dead, why bother with having the oozes do the job? Why not make sure of the deed and use the more powerful tools at his disposal? The answer may matter very little. I'm curious nonetheless."
The dragonborn looks toward the stables and continues, "We'll ride three horses but take the fourth along as well. That leaves our potential pursuers on foot. I now contradict myself, I know. Rather than rest, I wish to leave quickly, friends. I say bribe the lad, and let us away. I'm sorry, Kroneker, but recruiting a woodland menagerie to act as an armymay consume most or all of the time we have here. Selthar?"
Kroneker stops dead in his tracks and growls angrily. As much as he hates to admit it, Badrizar's words make sense - there is no time to go around recruiting an army of animals, they must leave right now.
Having come to that realization, Kroneker will turn around and start briskly walking back to the stables, pulling out his swords in the process. Selthar and/or Badrizar still have a chance to notice his killing intent he's not even trying to hide and stop him, otherwise this will occur:
Kroneker will jump on the stable boy and brutally eviscerate him, yelling in the process:
"Kroneker is done with this! You want to bribe this squirt after accusing his master of betrayal?! No more of this nonsense! We take the horses, and we will come back and kill them all later! Every last one of them! Kroneker gave them the chance to play nice, now we'll play by Kroneker's rules! And Kroneker has no rules!"
Having done that, and assuming he's still alive at this point, Kroneker will proceed to calm down the horses, unfasten them, jump on one them and start riding off.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"If you no longer need the map while you recruit can I have it?" Selthar asks Kroneker.
After Kroneker responds Selthar will take out two gold coins from the earlier bandits and approach the stable boy. "You have done well and are clearly tired. Here."Selthar hands the coins to the boy. "Take a break and we will finish preparing the horses." Persuasion check: 14.
The young man almost drops the blanket in Selthar's arms, accepting the coin. "Ah, thanks. I'll take the time to get properly dressed. I'll be back soon." He leaves the stables, heading toward the sun.
OOC: You and I both got ninja'ed on this one Pirate. So that the party knows. I am fine with Post 174 staying as is 175 being retracted and 176 staying as well. It would now be up to Badrizar to stop the goblin if he chooses to.

Selthar listens to Kroneker start his rage fit. While Kroneker is speaking Selthar takes the Ready action and prepares his dagger attack to subdue the goblin. The trigger condition is when Kroneker attempts to leave Selthar's side.
"Betrayed us? What makes you think Fancy Feet has anything to do with the slimes?" Kroneker asks, confused.
"What is more likely? The slimes are some sort of travelers like us that just happened to portal into a room full of powerful artifacts or that they are some sort of defensive measure used to protect valuable artifacts.
