As the group ponders the predicament they find themselves in, Rastaris tries to see beyond normal sight. If a wizard did set this up then maybe he can find a way to undue the enchantment.
OOC - Yup, time to lockdown until your wizards wake up. I can't believe y'all walked into this, though. If this was pen-and-paper DnD, youse guys would be too paranoid to ever get caught like this. Ah, the fun of play-by-post ...
OOC - Gotcha, I saw it. Rastaris casts Detect Magic; mark the spell slot on your character sheet.
Using his arcane sight from the Detect Magic spell, Rastaris sees two glowing runes appear on both doors; lines of power extend from the rune onto the floor of the corridor.
OOC - Roll Arcana to learn what you can about these runes.
OOC - Only Rastaris can see this; if he tries to describe to you what he's seeing, y'all probably think he's been abusing shrooms or something like that.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Arcana Check: 15
Rastaris speaks to the others while examining the runes: Someone has enchanted the two doors. I can see the connection between them. I will see if there is a way to turn them off.

OOC: I am just down to cantrips now.
"Aye, friend Rast, tell us how to turn these blasted runes off. Mayhap we should burn the doors? Or smash them?"
Rastaris studies the pattern of the rune trap and realizes there may be a way to disarm it; unfortunately, such skill in Arcana seems to be beyond his abilities.
He does learn two things about the trap, however.
First, now that the enchantment is active, the trap will trigger if any member of the party moves away from this part of the corridor (he notices that the lines of power emanating from the runes reach into the floor of the corridor). The trap will also trigger if one or both of the doors are opened.
Second, the energy of the trap is directed downwards, towards the floor. Any creature 3 feet or more above the floor when it is triggered will likely escape its effects.
"No compass."
"If we can't find the trap, we just have to set it off."
"Mithrokk? Farnakees? The door, if you please."
To the DM: What does Detect Magic reveal?

Mithrokk attempts to kick the western door down.
"Break a leg!" Lathalas calls out encouragingly.
OOC - Whoa ... slow down ... I get some coffee and you guys are running ahead of me ...
OOC - Did Rastaris already cast Detect Magic; I didn't see the post.
OOC - Rastaris, you really have a bad feeling about letting anyone do anything until you've examined the trap ...
OOC - Y'all big kids, though. You want to kick down the door, then just tell me.
OOC: I'm turning in. Mike, can Noel play Lathalas for the next bit? Until I'm back.
OOC - No problemo.
I mentioned it in post #684.
OOC: Er, on second thought, we’ll hold all actions till Rast can examine the trap. 😁

OOC: Looking upwards, what does the ceiling look like? Any place to fasten ropes?
OOC - Not really. There isn't anything on the ceiling you can attach a rope to. Do you have pitons?
OOC: Everyone Jump away on.the count of 3?
OOC: Nay. They were out at Tesco.
"Friend Rast, mayhap ye have a good idea or three?"
OOC: Are there any crates/barrels in this part of the corridor?
OOC: May Alianna also try an arcana check? If so:
