Farnakees smashes through the wall, taking care not to fall, to get a better view of the chamber, without climbing down yet. He wants to confirm if the stream is viable entry point.
OOC: The water might be running into the chamber because it's raining outside. Just seeping into the ground and finding its way here. If it stops raining...
OOC: If you're going to Phandalin first, then I'll describe your visit to the town. You're supposed to make a delivery, remember?
OOC: Farnakees can make a Survival check to look for a water source on the surface. That means you're leaving the cellar, though.
OOC: If you want a better description of the chamber, then you'll have to go in. No need for a map yet; Theater of the Mind descriptions will do for now.
OOC: The party will go to Phandalin for supplies. We decide to revisit this tunnel and ziggurat afterwards.
On the way out, Farnakees asks the party to investigate an entrance from the surface since it would be within a roughly 50-foot radius from the Inn anyway, and that we could mark it for later. OOC: Assuming Farnakees then gets to make his survival check 9 + 2 = ??
It would seem that the party is ill-equipped to explore the newly discovered chamber. He also feels the unease with the others descending a 40 foot wall into the unknown.
Best to continue into the town and buy the necessary equipment to safely proceed.
Rastaris massages wrist. He still feels the ache of the electrical shock which momentarily killed him.
While the mystery of the rats and ziggurat is quite enticing, we are in no shape to continue as is.
"So, shall be buy the necessary provisions in Phandalin and maybe if we're lucky, find out more about this place. Are we in agreement?"
OOC: So the party decides to head to Phandalin to stock up on supplies ...
The innkeep greets you with enthusiasm when you emerge from the cellar, but he quickly becomes downcast when informed that the problem may not yet be solved. He grudgingly offers you breakfast, making a few snide comments about how your friend Dillion is living it up at the inn, ordering all kinds of foods but not paying for anything. When you leave the inn, you can see from the innkeep's forlorn face that he does not expect you to return.
The journey to Phandalin takes three hours: one hour for the journey itself, two hours spent crashing through the woods in search of the water source that caused the erosion in the ziggurat chamber.
At least, that is how it may appear to the rest of the party. Farnakees the Survivalist knows what he is doing. Starting from afar, he circles the inn, travelling in smaller and smaller circles until he identifies the water source. It is a stream of pure cold water, perhaps coming down from the Sword Mountains themselves. The stream is narrow, but its bed indicates that it grows larger with the rains. The stream disappears into what appears to be a fissure in the earth almost a mile away from the inn itself. Farnakees theorizes that the water passes through a natural cave network before ending up in the ziggurat chamber. The fissure is small enough for a small creature to pass through, but the members of the party can see no more than a few feet into the small cave.

OOC: Does he see anything?
OOC: The water might be running into the chamber because it's raining outside. Just seeping into the ground and finding its way here. If it stops raining...
OOC: Does Farnakees have Darkvision? If nein, then he sees nothing. Otherwise, he sees the same things the owl does.
OOC: Is Lathalas sure it's still raining?
OOC: No darkvision for Farnakees. Will using a torch help?
OOC: The party will go to Phandalin for supplies. We decide to revisit this tunnel and ziggurat afterwards.
OOC: Agreed. We're all going to Phandalin.

OOC: testing the die math 2 + 2 = 4
OOC: Gasp! Loaded dice!
OOC: You better keep wary eyes on me :-)

"Aye."
“Aye.”
“Yes.”
Farnakees shrugs. He thinks he could trade in his scimitar, which lacks some heft, for a longsword.

OOC: FYI - Asked Mark M if he'd be interested to join. Sent him the campaign link.
Farnakees assesses his finding thus; "Ohhh, drat... ," not noticing the slight pun. "Any ideas?" he asks his companions.
"It cannot be helped. The hole is much too small. It seems we are back to our original plan to enter the chamber through the cellar."
"Let us proceed then to Phandalin. If we are lucky, we can secure the needed supplies and travel back to the inn before night fall."
To the DM: What time is it? Is it possible to get back to the inn from Phandalin within the day?
Our original mission to deliver the scroll to the gnomes of Gnomengarde - did it have a deadline?
Did the one who gave us the mission instruct us to get the directions to Gnomengarde from anyone in particular?
