Lathalas looks at Mithrokk, winks at him, and yells the ancient dwarven battlecry, "Leeeeeroy Jenkins!"
With that, he kicks down the door to the rat room.
OOC - This triggers a ready action ...
A swarm of silver-backed rats emerge from the room and enter the space occupied by Lathelas. They do not attack him, however, but move straight towards the opposite wall, then turn north and enter the square occupied by Alianna.
OOC - That's the end of their action. The path they're taking is A5, B5, C5, D5, D4, and D3. I realize I forgot to put the letter-number grid on this map; I'll fix it in the next one.
OOC - The path they're taking will trigger attacks of opportunity from Mithrokk, Lathelas, and Farnakees. After the attacks of opportunity are resolved, Lathelas can continue his action.

Seeing the swarm of silver burst through, Mithrokk lifts his greataxe over his head, and, in a two-handed chop, brings dwarven steel down with all his fury.
OOC:Sorry, I don’t know the rules if a monster moves into your space.a)Do I have to use disengage as my action or b) am I still allowed to Move + Action?
If a):
Alianna disengages and moves away from the swarm (to B2).
If b):
Alianna moves away from the swarm (to B2).Raising her arms, a Ray of Frost shoots out from her fingertips. Attack: 6Damage:8
OOC: I computed my spell modifier as +5 (3 from Intelligence and 2 from Wizard class). Is that right?
Farnakees mutters under his breath: "Rats..." then takes a swing at the swarming rats with his shiny scimitar. Attack: 23 Damage: 7

Farnakees and Mithrokk strike at the silver-backed rats, hitting them easily. However, while the rats are easy to hit, the large numbers in the swarm make them hard to kill. They take 3 and 6 damage, respectively, from the attacks.
OOC - Alianna can act when her turn comes in the initiative order. The attacks of opportunity were taken because these rats ran past the fighter types, allowing them to strike as the swarm passed. Afterwards, Lathelas will complete his action, followed by Rastaris, then Alianna. You can decide what to do at that time.

Rastaris sees the rats burst forth. He notices that instead of trying to devour the others they look to be trying to escape the cellar.
Rastaris speaks a quick incantation: 'Let my thoughts pierce your mind, Pain and despair shall you now find."
Rastaris casts Mind Sliver on the swarm.

Damage : 3
He then moves to space A1.
To the others he shouts: "Keep them from trying to make it upstairs."
Alianna initiative: 17
OOC: At Level 1, can I still choose defensive spells from other schools or do I already have to stick to one?
OOC: Oh! So that's Leeroy!!! "Leeroy, you are stupid as hell..." "At least, I got chicken" 😆
OOC: Hahaha!! Have not heard that name in at least a decade!
Instantly understanding what the elf meant, Mithrokk replies, "Leeeeeeroy Jenkins, it is then, friend Lathalas! Into the fray we go!!"
Initiative: 5
OOC: Let's pray this encounter ends better than that raid. 🤣
OOC: By Clanggedin's grace, we shall survive! :-)

OOC - Lathelas still has a move and action he can do.
OOC: I take it that there's no use kicking down the door anymore.
Lathalas moves beside Alianna, hoping to stay out of the way of an expected Burning Hands evocation from either practitioner of the Art.
Shortsword: Attack: 10 Damage: 9
Bonus: Unarmed strike: Attack: 14 Damage: 7
OOC: Huh? Check out your post 158. You said you kicked down the door. That's what triggered the swarm's ready action.
Lathelas hacks and kicks at the swarm, but they continue to move towards Alianna.
OOC - I'll put Lathelas in D4 then. Rastaris, you're up.
OOC: Ah. I though you were going to make me roll to see if I actually managed to roundhouse kick the door down.
Just one swarm of rats?
OOC: Yup, this is one swarm.
OOC: No need to roll to hit; the door was unlocked.
OOC: Kicking the door seemed more Leeroy Jenkins-like.
OOC: Just checking: attack rolls 10 and 14 miss?

Sorry folks, work got in the way.
Will just rejoin the party after you get out the cellar.
