"I must put these poor souls to rest." Tzedaka pulls out her holy symbol and begins performing last rights on the remains, releasing the poor souls for their terrible death here.
The work of clearing and rejuvenating the ancient halls of Firetop mountain fell to the Heroes of Chalice and they worked diligently to do so, the companions first felled the undead vampire who claimed to have been invited by Zagor as an ambassador.....but he took a little too much interest in eating the companions so was reduced to ash.
The black steel blade of Darkblade Skullbiter one of the fiercest Champions of Chaos is found hanging on the wall of the abandoned goblin warrens, Garet makes safe a large number of pit-traps, he also falls prey to a wasting curse placed on a wall by Zagor but is cured by Zagor, Banzo discovers a strange chair that magically affixes anyone sitting up on it and over time shrinks them down and converts them into a wooden carving of themselves to adorn the chair, the Champions gain access to Firetops Sewers and are forced to exterminate the highly aggressive swarm of giant rats that lived there, the Heroes prevailed against the insane captive Greater Medusa, stumble upon Zagors former chefs( an orc and a dwarf ) who immediately try to murder the heroes and fail dismally, the companions also find a fairly insane blind half-elf named Zoot Zimmer chained to a wall- he claims a huge red dragon attacked his giant eagle mount and he lost his sight in the crash.....he claims to be exceptionally good at finding traps but after Garet has to save him on three separate occasions from said traps he is placed with Zagors recovering ' decorations' to gain his strength, the companions also find an intact but uncharged Elemental Container for Water hastily buried in some abandoned construction rubble.
The creatures in the pits are the next consideration, Ennwyns research seems to indicate the smooth metallic one is some sort of elemental creature from the Plane of Earth that subsists on metal but is otherwise inert unless attacked.......the enormous Chaos Beast named Bob is a different story.......its hunger and body is ever growing and eventually it is up to Herman to destroy it.....
The corridor of Death past the Gold Door is sealed off and the entrance blessed by Tzedaka to prevent darkness from escaping until the Heroes feel ready to enter there and put down what ever servants of the Ancient Dark lie within................and then there is the dragon..................
All told a week has past, Ennwyn has assembled trusted and....somewhat trusted....' assistants', the former prisoners are all ready to move and messengers have been sent to dwarven settlements and wizards alike.
With Firetop pacified, at least for now, Ennwyn awaits replies to her bird-sent messages from Yaztromo and certain citizens of Mirewater and Stonebridge. Plans are made to transport former prisoners, likely they will be safer in the company of The Heroes of Firetop Mountain....
Assembling scattered remaining denizens of non-evil intent ( as far as can be determined by spell and guile) Ennwyn has a staff of Gremlins and Troglodytes beside the two Trolls and the relatively useless skeletal patrol....the red robed burned man seems to be adjusting to his new mistress though Tzedaka still does not trust him as far as she could blast him.
Two more days pass and a message comes from Yaztromo indicating he is still somewhat busy managing the plague situation but will be in contact shortly with a location to obtain a powerful elemental creature of Water. Strangely there is no reply from any of the dwarves contacted.....
“I vonder if Dee dwarves got Dee messages or if greed has risen.” Tzedaka says “she also speaks privately with Garret about red robes. “If Eenwynn remains chere, please do not leave red robes in Dee mountain. I fear chis counsel is poison to de mind and he served Dee servants poison to Dee souls.”
"I wonder why we haven't heard from the Dwarves?" Banzo looks around at the others for silent confirmation, "I thought we were on good terms with them?"

"A rightful place awaits you in the Realms Above, in the Land of the Great Light. Come in peace, and live beneath the sun again, where trees and flowers grow."
— The message of Eilistraee to all decent drow.
"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
(Tzedaka considers, was red robes at all responsible for the missives sent to the dwarves?)
( All missives were sent by druidic bird courier services.
The heroes have a few different reasons to leave the mountain now if they wish to do so....also if you want to take the time you have enough hours and labour present to break down the doors near the entrance.)
Are those the same doors that had the items behind them and we couldn't get them at the time, I'm curious as to what everything was.

12 oil paintings of Zagor in healthier times in a number of dashing poses and outrageous costuming.
10 oil paintings of women and men in various states of undress and lasciviousness while most of those depicted are human, elven and dwarven there are three singular pictures depicting, in turn, a richly appointed room in which sits a scantily clad woman with a giant serpents head, a severe looking pale skinned woman dressed in a white fur wrap and little else she appears to have prominent fangs and is lying against a frozen waterfall.......a raven haired young woman wielding a crescent headed staff and dressed in almost translucent sheer black robes, she reclines on a stone platform covered in silk pillows.
4 watercolour paintings of the landscape around Firetop Mountain
1 large painting of almost photorealistic quality in a brass frame depicting an enormous pile of gold and treasure in a volcanic cavern.
Door 2-
This door once contained the treasures previously removed by the companions, its only contents now are a large winch handle.
Door 3-
A dusty but fairly luxurious bedchamber with silk and velvet bedclothes, a mahogany dresser and an armour stand.
Tzedaka does not touch anything but looks for anything that could be a resemblance to the night demon Shakor.(the scantily clad pics?)
”Banzo, could you see vhat is magic chere?”
”dis painting of Dee treasure. Dis is most unusual, as it is different from Dee otters. We know Zagor was making gold coins a bit chave not found dem yet.”
“Cherman, please, Dee true sight can reveal any discrepancies. I do not like dis rooms. Seduction,… greed.”
Garet unsure of what Tzedaka is asking him about the red robes, perhaps he was still suffering the affects of the wasting sickness, perhaps using Zagors own power against him was an error, he brought his thoughts to the presents, the lack of response from the dwarves worried him likely they were under attack.
Garet brought his thoughts to the here and now bringing his senses to bare on the pictures before him, he smelt trap here.
Banzo takes the 10 minutes to perform the magical ritual that will allow him to Detect Magic once the rooms are opened and moves from room 1 to room 3 looking for any items that glow.
"I wonder if any of these paintings could be works of art? I've heard of some fetching quite a lot of gold."

The painting in the brass frame almost blinds Banzo and Herman with the intensity of its glow....
Garet ( or anyone who feels they may have an inkling) may make a History ( or perhaps Sleight-of-Hand) check to determine possible values of the paintings.
Garet steeples his fingers together using his thieves senses to inwardly calculate the value of the paintings
OOC Sleight of Hand 27 (NAT 20)
Garets experienced eyes run over the paintings.......those of Zagor could perhaps fetch money for collectors of memorabilia, particularly with Zagor being deceased now. He estimates 50-200 gold apiece to the right buyer.
The more risque pieces are a mixed batch- with three being worth perhaps 20 gp, two about 50 gp and two others 100-300 gp. The three 'portraits' are definitely worth more, he recognised all three subjects-
The Serpent Queen of Port Blacksand- this painting is exquisite and likely worth 500-800 gp......probably twice that to Lord Varek Azzur.
Shareela, The Snow Witch- probably one of a kind considering the predatory nature of its subject this painting is likely worth 800-1200 gp.
Leesha, High Priestess of the Lost City of Vatos- a painting that should not even exist considering the dwelling place of the subject who he only recognised due to the distinctive staff triggering a memory of an old retired explorer out of The Desert of Skulls he had met once. Easily worth 1500gp.....though owning it may make one a target...
The water colours appear worthless at first but noting a small Z-like signature gives him pause......if these are Zagors work.....perhaps 250 gp apiece.
The brass framed painting strikes him as truly exceptional......perhaps in the tens of thousands of gp.
Tzedaka looks but does not touch any of the belongings. Over the past week, she has worked with Enwynn to conceal her appearance. She wears a lightly colored dress. A wrap covers her platinum hair, and a grey cloak conceals her wings. She has on some makeup to give her translucent face a bit more color. They also found some eyelid extensions which she wears, somewhat subduing her increatibly beautiful eyes.
"I am going to get some fresh air. Anyvone care to join me? We are near dee entrance." She says, pondering their new finds.
