Sobbi shrug his shoulder with slight resentment, "I don't know if anyone knows, everyone I reached out to either treat me like a street urchin or just straight out ignores me, a few that did listen to me just laughed it off anyways. But I bet them don't know anything,"he holds the amulet high and dangles it in front of the tabaxi, " I don't think their gods are as powerful as mine. Maybe you should go ask people, people will probably talk with you, as you're not a silly little kobold."
The elf might have had a pretty face, but there was a sharper mind behind it. Superstitious at the best of times, sometimes - nevertheless she had learned to use her common sense, not entirely apt at reading people but not oblivious either. Geralt's voice still proved a taste she hadn't acquired yet, but the misstep in his speech didn't go unnoticed and it made the elf appraise the man a little more closely. If anything, it had somehow served to justify her suspicious inclinations of his nature; to a degree. "Whereabouts have you been in Ferus?" she asked him.
Sobbi then began to explain how he'd come about, and the mission it seemed, he had found through his service of Janus. And it was a mission she found herself liking less and less - ancient primal horrors! Just the mere thought of it made her shiver silently, digging more and more into her dish as she kept her mind as busy with the food and drink as her mouth and stomach. Indeed, when he asked for one more, she asked for another ahi. "I admit, I'm just as curious about that" she agreed with her Tabaxian friend, wondering how the lively Kobold could know when no one else did. When J'zargo mentioned the dwarf, her eyes followed his gaze, noting similarly. Yet the only thing she could think of in that moment was the fervent hope that that wouldn't be them one day.
The Kobold surprised her, as bothered as the comment made him, there was strength in his conviction. Faith, as it was, she could understand as she herself held such love and belief in her god Pelor. "It's hard to say which gods are more powerful" she said pragmatically, "but you're not a silly little Kobold." She patted him on the shoulder, comforting she hoped, then added with a smile "certainly not a cheap one."
J'zargo chuckles at the Sobbi's comments. "A 'silly little kobold', with an amulet, and a powerful god... J'zargo has neither of these things, but is still knowing the pain of the ignorances of people. Perhaps it is the nature of the message, rather than the messenger, no?" The tabaxi slips his cloak off, draping it over the back of his chair, before turning back to the kobold, clasping his hands in front of him.
"Now, let us be serious for several moments. This one will be speaking plainly; I would be ignoring you on the street, but dear Sobbi has enticed the weary travelers with the drink, and now this traveler is compelled to be listening out of politeness. J'zargo has the sceptical mind... but the adventuring mind also. The truth of your most intriguing story is irrelevant at this moment, because we are having the same base desires... to explore and be having the most grand adventures, yes? If you are wrong in your predicting, then we will still be having the adventures, and luck willing, making the fortunes. If you are correct in your predicting, then we are having the adventures, making the fortunes, and having the fame from the defeating of these evils also, yes?"
Sobbi grins at the elf for her encouragement, though not buying the notion of Janus not being the best god ever, as serving Janus defines him as a Kobold.
Sobbi claps his hands in excitment, "Yes! Although Janus would never misguide Sobbi, I still had questions about the mission, how is Sobbi going to stop this horror by himself, maybe the way Sobbi was taking wasn't right, maybe Janus didn't meant for Sobbi to come south to warn people." Sobbi keeps going with his self-persuasion, "I know that Janus is always guiding me, maybe he wants me to find you, and together we can adventure and defeat evil, people will know that we are the savior and that it was Janus' plan all along! Let's go! Where should we start?"
Geralt explains where he's been in Ferus, because I know of literally no locations in Ferus, but I assume he's been somewhere, so he speaks of said somewhere.
At Sobbi's mention of ancient primal horrors, Geralt perks up and leans in, taking in the rest of the conversation, yet not speaking yet. Well, attempting to take it in, the little kobold spoke a bit too fast for his liking. When he speaks of forming a group, Geralt finally holds up a hand and speaks.
"Hold up for... a moment. Before we... go frolicking of into the wilds, I'd like to... know one thing. What's in it... for us? I know I'm not going... to run off with a bunch of people I barely... know without some sort of... promise of compensation. Everything has... a price, even saving the world."
“Compensation...” Sobbi takes out he pouch and looks inside, using the other hand to count for a while, shakes his head and dismisses the idea of paying Geralt, then he knits his brows and starts to think really hard, and comes up with an idea, “ I know! People like Sobbi hates dying to a ancient monster, maybe the rich people also hates dying to a ancient monster, we can make rich people pay us for killing monsters!” he memorizes something, “Maybe we can tell Boss Bu'Bu' about this and he will pay us! You're smart, we should charge people for saving the world! ”
(Sorry, I had a late night and an early morning, hence the delay).
Fiddle listens to the kobold fascinated. "One of the big reasons I came out here is to find and potentially tame some of the wild magicks here. I know nothing about Janus, but it seems that they have pointed you in the direction of something interesting. Primeval magicks-" The gnome strokes his mustache for a moment. "Primeval magicks could be very helpful for some of the things I'm trying to work on. I'm willing to help, since that's largely in line with what I wanted to do anyway." A flash of inspiration strikes the gnome. "AH I CAN TEST SOME OF MY INVENTIONS ALONG THE WAY. Yes, I'm in. Now, that said, I am also cautious about working with a crime lord, but if I can take money from someone for doing something I want to do anyway, I'm in."

The elf fell silent for the most part, more than content as her hunger and thirst were thoroughly satiated. She listened intently as the men continued to discuss what was Sobbi's proposal, each adding their two cents as well as concerns when it came to personal stakes. Personally, Aramintha didn't believe doing right should have a price, that is to help others, however it was near impossible to live off of nothing gained. Without a little compensation here and there, they couldn't be able to eat like this. "I'd say the rich especially hate to die - the dead can't quite count their fortune." Unless of course there was a Necromancer in the picture.
Aramintha chuckled at Fiddle's comment, bumping her shoulder playfully against his, "you're just itching for any target, aren't you?" She smiled as she finished her pork, sitting back and drinking more of the ahi, not quite accustomed to it yet but at least it wasn't feeling like lava anymore. "I'm officially their guide" she gestured to Fiddle and J'zargo, though the latter was in far less need of it, being a native himself, "so I guess I've no choice in the matter. I will say though, I'd rather not deal with the likes of this Boss Booboo." She shrugged, drinking a little more, "just sounds like bad news all around."

Hearing the gnome and the elf’s comment, Sobbi curls up his brows again, “Oh… he is a crime lord? Maybe we should let him be eaten then.”He then starts thinking hard again, then something comes to mind, “I saw a few adventurers being hired to do some jobs on my way here, maybe we can be those adventurers. While doing that for money, we can also help each other achieve their goal, you can help me with my mission, we can help you find more primeval magic, help him restore his memory…”he looks at the tabaxi and the weird looking man, “ how about you and you, sir, is there anything else other than money or adventuring?”
The tabaxi thinks for a second before replying with a shrug and a smile. "J'zargo's desires are wide and varied, and they are changing like the weather my friend, but this one thanks you for your concern. It is seeming we are killing many birds with our stones, yes? This is a good thing."
(If you are interested in learning some stories and rumors, there are two ways we could go about it. First, we could play it the old-fashioned way. Your characters talk to the other patrons of the tavern and gather as much information as you can. Alternatively, you could each roll a Charisma check, and at the end of the night I'll give you one rumor each. The higher the roll, the more interesting the rumor.)
"Alright, gents and Ara, I need to blow off some steam. I'm gonna go chat with those gents over there and see if they'll let me in a round. I need to take some of their money. Plus, they're mining, and mining means materials. I need to make friends with those that can get me that. Let's meet down here tomorrow morning at the latest, and we can talk about where we plan on going on our next expedition?"
"Alright, I'm going to listen to this Iron God's cleric's preach, I heard talks about "imminent judgement", maybe it has something to do with my mission." Sobbi is going to listen to what this cleric has to say, and when there's a window he would ask if their clergy had heard any rumor related to mysterious ancient creatures.
Fiddle, the miners greet you warmly. They've had several ahi's each, judging by the stack of empty mugs on the counter, and they are in a particularly friendly mood. There are four miners, consisting of three mountain dwarves and a skinny half-orc teenager whom the dwarves patronize in a fatherly way.
Sobbi, your reception by the two clerics is less friendly. The man and woman are cold and distant, and don't take to followers of other gods.
The Iron God is a deity from Legum that is commonly associated with law, justice, and punishment. His followers have initiated a brutal crusade in an attempt to convert the 'heathen' races of Ferus to their religion.
"Alright, boys. I see that you lot are having a great time and I mean to share it." The gnome pulls up a chair and stands on it, bringing him up to a slightly higher height than the sitting dwarves (and nowhere near the height of the half-orc). "Name's Fiddle," he says in his high pitched, mildly manic voice, "and I saw that you gents look like you've been working hard and playing harder. I respect that, and I wanted to buy you lot a round, if you don't mind my company. What are we playing?"
Fiddle may not be good at social niceties, but he knows that drunk dwarves make for a good time. That and they tend to enjoy being drunker. "Whattaya say? What're you fishing out of the earth these days?"
