With Rat having been destroyed and Ryona now also attacked, Maelfearance will pull out his dagger and attempt to strike the beast attacking his friend. Attack: Attack: 21 Damage: 4
OOC: Thanks for pointing that out Ryona, I had it in my mind that because she is rushing in, that the dodge action wouldn't have taken place yet but it is technically an action that could have taken place the round before initiative was rolled. I'll reroll the attack that hit at disadvantage when I get a chance to update tonight.
@Kaemgen Please do not snipe at me during rule clarifications. I am not perfect, and I won't always get 100% of the everything correct. We are on the same side, I'm here to help facilitate a fun story for you with my free time, not "defeat the players", so I would appreciate a little more understanding.
(In that case, I'll change my action) Falenas will go inside the waterfall just enough to see what's happening and cast Eldritch Blast at the closest hostile creature.
Noah, now sure that the party is engaged with. . . goblins, maybe? Swears curtly under his breath. He cautiously advances to about 5 or 10 feet away from the mouth of the waterfall as he casts the spell, but other than that does not alter his action.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
OOC: Disadvantage of the attack against Ryona is the lower of 19 or 7.
The attack misses and Ryona's HP has been adjusted to reflect that. She still has an action to take for Round 1, since dodging was done before Initiative was in effect.
With the clatter of iron against her shield, she holds her ground against the assault. Seeing no sign of Rat as Maelfearance counterattacks beside her, she grits her teeth. "Ah... Maelfearance?"
She glances between the two kobolds before her and Mael, and sets her spear in the kobold's direction. With a menacing push in their as though turning toward aggression, she lets fourth a battlecry, mingling with Falenas' spell over the din of the waterfall.
(( Just for flavor, still focused on defense, taking advantage of their not-mechanically smaller reach ))
OOC: Well you see plenty of signs of rats, as they are eating them... Rat wasn't particularly distinctive as a rat so I assume the basic assumption would be he was part of their meal... *shrug*
"We were always going to have to go through these foul beasts," Maelfearance replies...

OOC: Worth mentioning that familiars do not leave behind a physical form when they reach 0 HP, so these kobolds would have shot Rat hoping to add another rat to their meal, only to see it vanish before their eyes.

Entering alongside the others, Falenas also sees the scenes within the waterfall:
Immediately inside of the waterfall is a large chamber where five gnome-sized reptilian humanoids with canine-shaped heads reside. Three of them are near a small fire, playing dice and roasting rats. The other two are walking to the entrance, curiously investigating some space nearby. They seem prepared when you crash through the water; the three in the back have shortbows drawn and the others are charging with daggers in hand.
Yevele steps forward, whipping her staff toward a kobold. It ducks, avoiding the strike, but focused on the staff, it does not see the incoming kick that snaps its neck from the side. Maelfearance charges, driving the other close kobold backward with his dagger. Before it can retort, Falenas sends a blast of pure arcane energy into its face. Ryona stands in defense with Yevele as the kobolds further into the cave raise their bows.
OOC: Pausing again to confirm Noah's first round action. From outside of the waterfall, he can't tell which shadow is which, so if he fires an Ice Knife indiscriminately in, it's probably going to hit a fellow character, either directly or in the ensuing shard explosion.
Shortbow vs. Noah: 21Damage: 6 Shortbow vs. Yevele: 21Damage: 6
Noah crashes through the waterfall last. Seeing two of the gnome-sized reptilian humanoids dead at his companions' feet, he looses a jagged streak of ice across the chamber toward the three archers, striking the middle creature directly in its face. Its head sprays into a thousand pieces in the ensuing explosion, which sends the remaining two kobolds rolling away from the shrapnel.
The kobolds each raising to a knee, they loose arrows across the chamber, both grazing Noah and Yevele, nearly killing the pair. The reptilian creatures turn tail, fleeing through a leathery curtain in the back of the room, which looked as solid as the stone around it just a moment ago.
Clutching her side where she was hit by the arrow, Yevele started to follow the kobolds behind the curtain, but, then stopped and knelt on the ground looking at a similarly wounded Noah.
Turning to the other members of the group, Yevele asks "Was that an illusion that covered up the curtain? Could the kobolds have an magic-user back there that we have to take on? Are they on league with the spider? We should probably take a few minutes to regroup before going after them."
The young monk then takes her pack off and pulls our her herbalism kit and moves over to Noah to see what she can do about his wound. medicine21
(OOC: I'm assuming that the kobolds get out of sight before I can take an action. Otherwise, I'd try to hit one of them)
Falenas will look at the wounded Noah and Yevele and then turn to Ryona. "I think that your talents are needed here, friend. I'll take a look at the curtain back there". Falenas will go to the curtain without going through or touching it. He'll look around trying to discern the nature of the magic that it was used and also to check if it's dangerous.
(OOC: I'll roll Arcana and Investigation, please let me know if I need to roll anything else)

First round: Approaching Yevele while stowing her spear, she looks over the two and pulls out her healing kit, getting ready to treat Yevele. Peering at the protruding arrow in the monk's torso, she speaks softly. "Yevele can take more than that. Still, I'll help find some lost blood."
Second round: Putting a hand on Yevele for her to stop moving while watching the curtain (frowning as Maelfearance goes to it), she rolls out the healing kit. She holds up a cloth patch, then grabs the arrow with her shield-hand and simply pulls it out, checking the arrowhead went with it before quickly applying the cloth and then bandaging it.
Healing: Yevele - 9
Ryona turns to Noah, looking closely at the bloodied portion of his clothes and more casually pulling the arrow out. "You look okay. It's not a serious wound. Try to make yourself a hard target."
"Foul, sniveling, craven, coward creatures!" Maelfearance shouts out, striding up to and through the curtain, if curtain it is. (If it's something more solid, he likely hits his head and curses.)

Noah grasps at the wound, but loosens his grip when Yevele comes to tend to him. As she is then healed by Ryona, he glances to the latter, chuckling despite the pain at her remark. The sorcerer then merely takes a clean handkerchief from his pack and wraps the wound with it in place of more drastic medical measures.
He prods one of the corpses with the tip of his boot, grimacing. "Kobolds, I assume? I've heard of such creatures. Quite the crafty hideout, too." With this remark, Noah strides over to stand behind Malfearance, attempting to peek past any cracks in the curtain to try to discern a deeper passage.

While Ryona and Yevele tend to wounds, Falenas approaches the curtain as it settles. It is illusory, but not by magic. The cleverly designed material simply matches the stone around it, camouflaged entirely while it is not moving.
Maelfearance's angry stride is cut short as Falenas falls into the earth, the canvas floor beneath him equally camouflaged with some sort of paint. Crashing into a pit, the elf takes 6 bludgeoning damage, landing painfully prone ten feet below.
As the dust settles atop Falenas, he sees the smooth-cut stone walls of the pit have no natural handholds, but the width of the hole is such that a climb out would be difficult, but possible.
When Yevele hears Falenas hit the bottom of the pit, she starts to stand up, only to be pushed down by Ryona. While Ryona finishes tending her wound, Yevele says "Maybe we should check for other traps before we pursue those two."
After Ryona finishes up with healing her, Yevele will get up and offer her rope to help Falenas get out of the pit.
After falling into the pit, Falenas takes a moment to recover his breath. Frustrated, he stands up and starts patting himself to get rid of the dust. "Don't worry, I'm okay. My pride took most of the damage. I can surely try to get out of this on my own, but I'd be thankful if somebody has rope left. The curtain is just a curtain by the way, I forgot what these reptiles were capable of"
