(( Alaric will try to knock it out; my belief is that the goblin is prone and asleep, so he should get advantage on both attacks... ))
Attack 1: 22 Damage: 10 Attack 2: 18 Damage: 2
Sneak damage, if either of those connect: 3
(( I guess that's successful! I hope it didn't make too much noise... ))
Alaric looks down at the unconscious goblin, and considers his options. Deciding that a sitting goblin is more normal than one lying on the ground, he props it against a wall then continues forward cautiously.
(( If he is unable to prop it up convincingly, he carries it to within sight of the rest of the party, then continues forward ))
Flint joins Eraminus over Klarg’s body. With a solemn look he says, “My god teaches that we should give all beings a second chance, but righteous judgement will be passed on those that need a third... I must remember this moment. The day will come when the Valkyries will judge me, the good accomplished by each kill balanced against the wrong of taking a life. They will decide if I am worthy of a place in Valhalla.” Flint looks at Eraminus, “I saw yer prayer, to what power do ye speak?”
Alvara stands near Klarg's body quietly, trying to commit his appearance to memory should she need to recall it to produce an illusory image later in the cave. Intelligence:20
She listens to Flint, a thoughtful expression on her face. She takes a step towards him to place a hand on his shoulder. "Well, I for one hope your judgement day doesn't come for a longgggg longgggg time, my friend," she says with a smile.
Eraminus looks at Flint, "The monks introduced me to the faith of Heironeous, a god of chivalry, honor, and war. Their hope was I would not become an unthinking brute like many others do when living this life." Eraminus re-lights his torch before beginning to walk in the direction Alaric slunk off to.
Flint gives Alvara a warm smile, “Thank ye, lassie.” In an attempt to inject some levity, “I may be old, but I hope to last longer than our human friend here.” He slaps Eraminus on the back.
At Eraminus’ mention of Heironeous, Flint searches his memory. He says “Heironeous…Heironeous… Wait! Doesn’t Heironeous’ symbol have a lightning bolt? Ha! Maybe we were destined to travel together?”
Eraminus begins to cross over the bridge, "Mayhaps we were meant to meet up, otherwise it might have been chance." He recalled the flattened head of Klarg, thinking of how he had meant to ask about when the next messenger was going to come and take the warrior to the Black Spider. Eraminus glanced up, seeing bats fly to and through as his torch illuminated the cave.
The tunnel leads to a large cave is divided in half by a ten-foot-high escarpment. A steep natural staircase leads from the lower portion to the upper ledge. The air is hazy with the smoke of a cooking fire, and pungent from the smell of poorly cured hides and unwashed goblins. Half a dozen goblins are in this chamber, sitting around a fire. (20ft from Alaric. Roll a stealth check please.)

(( Could he make out much behind the escarpment? Is that where the prisoner(s) are? I'm wondering if he might be able to go via the other route on the map to get to the prisoners. If the prisoner he saw is with the goblins, how hard would he be to get to via either route? ))
Returning to the group, Alaric stands and un-kinks his back, grimacing, then reports, "One guard unconscious, but half a dozen more in the next room -- and at least one prisoner."
The prisoner Alaric saw, was on top of the embankment, with at least one goblin guard. The other goblins are all around the fire, facing away from the other entrance.

He thinks for a moment, "Visibility is poor due to all the smoke smoke -- and it stinks."
Nodding to himself he continues, "But...the smoke may mean there's a small chance I could slip in, then you could make a ruckus back here. With luck they will leave the prisoners, and we could attack from behind...if they are healthy."
"But ... it's difficult ... I don't see this ending without a fight, and if there's a fight, the prisoners may get killed."
"I do like the idea of a distraction though...if I can sneak in...if not, I'll need backup pretty fast!"
Then he remembers the attack on Klarg, "Or ... perhaps ... do you think you could put them to sleep? The we just rush in?"
Eraminus nods, "I thinking sneaking in would be a good idea, have you take out the guard of the prisoner then we can take on the rest before you attack from behind. Did any of them have bows or just swords?" He shifts his weight, watching behind Alaric.

Alaric moves a little forward to see if it's a lone guard asleep.

@Aragorn:
Just checking you saw my move above...happy to move to spoilers...
(I did not, I'm sorry. Also, I'm dropping the spoilers, saves time and lessens the confusion.)

Being that close to the goblins makes him nervous; he will scan the roof to take in what he can, then retreat.

As Alaric falls back, he sees a bound and gagged figure though the haze makes it difficult to see who exactly it is.
