It was even fun, like shooting at the moving target practice. Well, the target did not move too much, just shivered and spewed some thorns (non of which reached the firemages). There was only one complication: after the combat, when scorched black smoking piles was all what was left of the plants and the crimson pit could be safely renamed into the "smoking pit", Alyssa noticed, that the light spots on her skin grew much bigger. They now were covering the lower part of her neck too and continued to grow. The skin under the spots was numb -- whatever she touched, she had to look to check if she was really touching it, the tactile sensation was gone.
Alyssa would look to Leon and notice his discontent, her eyes would soften. She'd kind of chuckle softly to herself. That's happened more than once to her during this journey. They don't always agree, but they still predominantly stick together as a group to work together. Besides, she couldn't deny that tossing some fire and burning some things was a little therapeutic like Rami had suggested the first time they were going to burn the plants.
It was obvious the light of the flames paired with the glow of the hallway accelerated her condition. The elf would go reach for her notebook and pen. Normally it was like muscle memory and never a challenge to find her book, but her sense of touch was off... "The path is clear, but doesn't necessarily mean we must take it." She'd say gently as she'd finally find her journal to begin some updates. As Alyssa would go to open it up and write, she'd immediately fumble her items, dropping them to the ground. She'd blink. Then she'd reach to try picking them up off the ground. It was like trying to pick up a coin off a surface sometimes. She just could not. "I can't... feel any more..." The words would leave her lips before she'd accept the reality. Struggling to grasp her most prized possession, she'd feel some alarm. "My tactile sensation is gone." Her voice was quiet.
Alyssa would glance at the doorways. Which path was the darkest?
Leon steps back, waiting for the others to decide which of the 3 passages to take. He glances to the dropped items, as Alyssa fumbles them. He frowns, not knowing what to do for the other wizard.
Ramious looks to Leon and Alyssa during their exchange. "Oh...sorry buddy...I mean....yer hangin out with a bunch o' people who head into dark dungeons of death instead of just stayin home.... are ya surprised we wanna go towards the hall of deadly plant pits instead of the empty ones?" He grins widely...until Alyssa shows her concern over her lack of feeling. His face darkens and looks from her, to the dark hallways....then to Bugs, "Is there anything we can try on her to try and help her?"
He walks over to her, and grabs her hands, rubbing at the glowing skin with his thumb, as if trying to rub some dirt off. He licks his thumb then wipes a bit more. He frowns, sniffing her hand, and massages it a bit to feel what the bones and muscles feel like. He checks his own finger tips after doing so, seeing if any came off on him.
He turns to Bugs looking fairly serious, "Bernard...can you try to...maybe cut her open a bit and see if you can bleed the junk out or somethin? Or use some healin magic on her?"

Alyssa couldn't feel what Ramious was doing, but she could see, and wouldn't protest. She'd kind of chuckle quietly at his choice of experiments. They may not have been scholarly, but it wasn't anything she tried yet, and there was nothing for her to lose. The elf was about to pipe up to mention that healing magic didn't work when she healed herself from the fall, when Rami's spit thumb would begin to glow. She'd blink. "Now you're infected too..." Tilting her head. "Your spit?" Her brows would furrow in thought. "Did the moisture transfer it?" Not wanting it to spread further on him, she'd absentmindedly pull his hand to her to go to lick his thumb. She'd pause, close her mouth and clear her throat. Then go fumbling for her waterskin, dropping that too. "Water maybe?" She'd sigh staring at it at the ground for a moment before trying to pick it up and open it to pour over his hand.
It seemed the water indeed did the trick! A bit luminescent at the start, but eventually clear water drops rolled from Ramious's hand to the ground. In a moment his thumb was cleaned.
The elf would make an expression of surprise, then tilt her head as if to sniff herself. “Am I that bad?!” A smirk would tug at her lips. Alyssa played along. Maybe it wasn’t a bad idea though. She’d start humming her eleven hymn as she’d begin preparing some hand gestures for her spell. The cleric would step a little out of the way, into a corner. She’d splash some water up and use her magic to create more, having it come down in a wave to wash over her entirely. She wanted to ensure she didn’t miss a light spot she couldn’t reach.
The artificial shower worked like a charm - the light dissolved in the water like a salt, leaving no trace on the skin or on the floor, water quickly disappeared in the numerous cracks. The feeling of her own skin--wet and cols but sensing everything!--fully returned, Alyssa was completely herself again.
"A bath? I hardly think... Well, that's just great. Sometimes the simple solutions are the best," Bernard says. He turns to Ramious and says, "I'm humbled by your worldly experience." Then when Alyssa goes to take her shower he turns away from the corner to give her privacy.

Ramious returns Bernards compliment with a look of disbelieve, and a snort, "Stop makin fun a me pal. Alright, we killed the plants, we got rid of the weird light on her skin. Let's do Leon a solid, and head down one of these safer, but surely just as death filled ways..." He grins and Leon, and heads to the passage the leads out of the room north, creeping forward and scanning for traps as he goes.

It became a pattern already it seems -- whenever much attention was paid, nothing bad (immediately) happen. Ramious turned once and stopped in front of very innocently looking door, which remained innocently looking after the most thorough investigation. When someone risked to open it (the door was unlocked and simple push did the trick) behind was another corridor, again, bending and twisting that brought you all (assuming the group followed) to yet another very innocently looking door, that seems to be unlocked at well.
(Usual request -- you enter the door, tell the marching order.
Alyssa couldn't help but let out a little sound of glee when she'd look herself over and the water actually worked. She could feel again! And it was electric, like her skin was extra sensitive to the touch from the return of sensory input. That short time without kinesthetics proved to be a lesson learned, appreciate the ability to touch and feel. The elf was practically hugging herself, running her hands over where the light had taken over, enjoying the return of her senses. Noises of satisfied relief would leave her lips. She was cured. From one anyway. 1 of 3 down.
Ready to move once more, Alyssa would collect her things, ensuring her waterskin was refilled and she had her notes secured safely on her. Overhearing a little of their conversation, the scholar was going to agree out loud with Bernard's words of acknowledgement for Rami's discovery of the solution. Though, Ramious didn't accept the praise as true. A small smile tugged at her lips. Well, at least Bernard and her knew. Alyssa knew she appreciated the continued help. Even more so now that she realized what she was losing with the light in the process.
Silently, Alyssa would fall in line, tip toeing behind Ramious through the hallways to the door.
