(I would assume Alyssa followed the path to the east)
The light in the ceiling is indeed an interesting thing: it comes from the walls of a chute that glows in the dark. The chimney can not be simply reached from the top of the hill, but if someone climbs on the shoulders of another - that should be doable. To enter it, the person would have to brace back and legs against opposite walls because there are no protuberances to hold onto. The steeply inclined passage beyond is full of cobwebs, but it does lead up...
So far no effect from the strange room is felt (not by those on the path at least). The figurines do not move or anyhow assault the intruders but the land, as Alyssa noticed, does not match what she saw outside (or knows about Maztica ).
Ramious glances up the shut, and scratches his head. He glances around at the group who seem to have followed him into the room. "Oh...hey guys." He points up, "A shute, with cobwebs. Hopefully it doesn't drop a bunch of lava on me." He grins....then looks a bit concerned, and glances up at the chute distrustfully. "Can you still fly Bernard?"

Giving Ramious plenty of space to do his investigation, Alyssa would find her own path out of the way to take a closer look at things as she went. She wouldn't wander off the path or go poking around, but she might bend at the knees to get a closer look. Hints to what might happen? The elf would do a couple sketches and jot a few notes while Rami contemplates the possibility of lava in the cobweb infested shaft. While the boys decide who and how they're going up, she'd glance up from what she was looking at, remembering the door to the north. Alyssa would tip toe along to inspect the door, maybe something she could do while they sorted out the logistics. Maybe it's a way that won't involve me literally needing to be carried out of here? She wouldn't open it though, just look and listen. She knew up would make more sense for finding the way out.
(She would follow the path indicated, just to be clear.)
Figurines are telling, may be not in details, but, say, those humans on the sand look as if they are suffering from terrible heat, while drowning figurines in the marshes clearly gasping for air. Would anyone stepping on the marsh's drown is unclear, though, there are not bones or full skeletons lying around - if there were visitors, they vanished without trace.
The barred door can be easily opened - three metal bars are not thick but quite sturdy. On the door itself there are glyphs, that translate into Tlazoteotl, mother goddess of the earth. What dose it mean even Alyssa does not know, but whatever those who built the pyramid called "goddess" is unlikely to be divine.
Bernard jumps, he lifts his arms into the air and jumps again. "Nope, the flying potion wore off. I'm grounded but maybe you could fly up there, burn some cobwebs and then find a way to tie some rope for us to climb." He shrugs, "maybe its not where we are suppose to go but everything has pointed to up so far..."
"This door has bars, labeled: mother goddess of the earth. It's probably something, rather than somewhere." Alyssa would look back to the others. "And I think these figures might give hints to the magic Leon might be picking up." She'd point around as she started making her way back to the safe path crossroads. "I think your instincts to go up is probably correct. Just gotta watch our steps..."
Ramious looks up at the hole. Then he glances over at the door with three metal poles in it. Then he looks around him at the massive diorama. He scratches his head and a puzzled look sits on his face. "I think some big bad thing is in there. I think it'll get in here and try to kill us somewhere along the way. We should probably know if we have to stay on this path or not....or what happens if we get knocked off. So. If I'm not back in five minutes...... just wait longer." He grins suddenly, as if he's told some joke only he understand and steps off the path a part of the area showing burnings sand.
"Ramious," Bernard calls but he's already started to fly away. He weakly calls out, "how can we get up there if you're up there?" He sighs and pulls out his pulls out his bow and tries to find a spot on the path that gives the best aim into the opening.
(Ramious is not the best mine canary when it comes to Constitution :) )
It feels... hot, desert hot but no other immediate effects except a nagging feeling that if he stays there too long, he might end us as those dry miniature human remains in the sands.
Usually quite perceptive owl can not transmit anything significant - the chute is dark and filled with cobwebs, some looking fresh, that suggests the presence of spiders, obviously, but owl have not seen any. About 60ft inside (all quite steep climbing!) the chute ends up with a pewter basin (or something that looks like it) covering the exit. Owl was not able to move it.
Ramious walks off the sand and back to the hilltop and shrugs to the group, "I dunno...it tingles...I'd say no stepping on the floor if you can help it."
He watches upwards while the owl goes and scouts and makes a face when it returns. Glancing over at Bernard he says, "Hey, Bugs, want me to lift you up so you can sorta jam yourself into the tube? You might be able to climb up this thing and then get a rope down for the rest of us. I'll catch you if you fall." He grins a lopsided grin.

"I don't want to be jammed anywhere but ya lift me up. I'll scale this and see if I can secure a rope some place just let me..." he begins to say and then he directs his hand up and his fey bugs swarm up into the shaft. He maxes a swirling motion with his hand and they begin to move in a circular motion. After a short bit he says, "There, that should have cleaned some of the cobwebs out of the way a bit."
He is using mage to clear out out as much cobwebs as he can. If needed athletics 10 or acrobatics 7
The obviously dangerous door was ignored and group concentrated on the chute.
With help of his little fey Bernard cleaned up the path from the web easily enough (first few feet of the chute), but climbing itself was quite more difficult, as the ranger realised, once tried to crawl in. Worse, the walls were quite smooth, no way to secure a rope, though Alyssa might still have a few pitons with her to help with the problem. Three combined ropes, a few pitons - and climbing can become doable.
Ramious will stand under the chute watching, ready to try and catch him if he falls. "Don't drop any of your bugs on my face though." Ramious shivers absently with ick.

It was a difficult work but Bernard managed - slowly, one by one he hammered in pitons that allowed to tie the rope and secure some hand/foothold for himself. However, moving this way was quite noisy. If owl's silent fly did not attract attention of the inhabitants of this place, the hammering surely would. And about half way up Bernart spotted an opening - covered with particularly thick web. If there are spiders here - they are in that hole.
