When the morning comes, Shae readies herself like usual, meditating, gathering herself, and centering her ki. Once finished, she gathers her few belongings and makes ready to leave. Upon finding the smithy boarded up, she muses to herself.
"I wonder if there's anything of use left. If we need to, we can come back and search the place..."
After her contemplation, she turns to the rest of the group and speaks.
"We should find a merchant. Not only do we need supplies, but that's also a good place for informatio-"
Her words trail off as she notices the figure coming towards the group. Her stance shifts slightly, and her grip tightens on her staff.
"Hail and well met, traveler. Perhaps you can aid us. I am Shae, and these are my companions. We were hired to investigate a haunted mansion, and when we exited the horrid place, we found ourselves here, in this strange place. Am I correct in assuming this is the land of Barovia?"
(so since I've been in the area of Barovia for awhile would I know someone or somewhere that could forge silver weapons?)
Coming towards you is a rather tall and slender woman with long pointed ears. Almost elf like but not quite. She has dark long hair and striking bright eyes. She approaches you and bows before you all.
Greetings travelers, my name is Vylrila Lightbringer I am the known Cleric of this area.
Her glance fixes over to Shae
Indeed this is the evil land of Barovia. I came this land quite sometime ago and have now made it my mission to rid this land of the darkness that troubles these poor people of this country. If we happen to have a similar goal I will use my knowledge and abilities of light to aid you in whatever way I can.
"Currently? I believe our only goal is to leave this place. I still have a job to finish, and tarrying about in a place like this isn't going to help me. You say you're the known cleric? We had an ally perish recently, in a haunted manor. Is it within your abilities to resurrect him, or at least aid in his burial?"
She ponders for a second, and then continues.
"Rid the land of darkness? So the stories I heard as a child are at least partly true... What darkness do you speak of?"
(Vylrila feel free to add anything else about your visions that you would've told the party upon meeting them - in the meantime I will move this forward)
So you all feel physically ready to kick some Strahd ass after the rest... although mentally you still might not be 100%. The whole Flynt getting eaten thing was very horrific and sickening. As was learning about the children. Make sure to remove a ration if you ate one at breakfast.
As the party meets Vylrila and discusses the current situation, you all then begin to walk the streets looking for a shop. It is about 11 in the morning, it's lightly raining and the sky is filled with dark menacing clouds which are moving in odd ways. You see many different types of residential structures as you walk. The windows of each house stare out from pools of blackness. No sound cuts the silence except for mournful sobbing that echoes through the streets from a distance.
After a few minutes, you find a building that you assume is occupied. The sparse light from this building spills out from behind drawn heavy curtains. A sign over the door, creaking on its hinges, reads: Bildrath’s Mercantile.
To save time, I'll assume that most, if not all of you enter the establishment:
and you're greeted by this fellow.
He looks at you all, slightly put off by the sheer number of you, but more because of the weapons and armor you're wearing.
"Well Jesus look what the cat dragged in. Greetings and welcome to Bildrath’s Mercantile. I'm Bildrath, if you didn't guess. Looks like you folk are the adventuring type... must be seeking danger if you're in Barovia?"
The man then calls to someone back behind the wall "Parriwimple! Get out here, you gotta see this."
FIl stretches his arms after a night of rest and meeting their new companion Vylrila. He is unsettled by the information regarding the children and the fallen paladin. He follows the group into the shop and sees the man. "Well uh ... Bildrath, we're not exactly seeking danger except to kill this Strahd fellow. I don't know if you can help with that."

“My name is Shae. My friends and I were hired to investigate a haunted mansion in town, and when we exited it, we found ourselves here in Barovia. Could you please tell us a bit about this land, and perhaps sell us some supplies? We’re a long way from home.”
Her words are honeyed and she leans ever so slightly forward, letting her (albeit small) bosom peek out of the top of her tunic.
Bildrath looks at Fil like he's crazy. "BAH! Kill Strahd you say? Last person who said that 'round here didn't fare so well. Ya think bein' tall will help ye dontcha! I think ya might need a lil more than that my good man, and furthermore....."
... then his eyes then get fixated on Shae's bosum. He stares at it for an awkwardly long time, then says to Shae: "mmmmm.....yessss.... long way from home indeed. The land? Well, you've seen outside. It's pretty much like that everywhere. Dark. Depressing. And it rains a lot. More folk pass through here than you might think though.... Vistani's mostly. Strahd runs the show. After all, it's his land. I'm just lucky the old bat lets me run my store. Heh heh heh... old BAT. GET IT!? Haaahahaha. What, you don't get the joke? Guy's a vampire. Seen it with my own eyes."
Bildrath wipes some drool from the side of his mouth and his eyes eventually move to Shae's eyes from her butt. "Supplies you say? Well have a look around. And don't be askin' for any deals either. Judgin' from the dress of y'all, you aren't hard up for coin."
Then a beast of a man comes out from the back. You notice his muscles rippling out of his leather tunic. The lad is seriously jacked.
"WELL HIYA FOLKS!! Name's Parriwimple. Hope my uncle here is behaving....." then his eyes also go to Shae's butt... much less tactfully than his uncle. If that is possible.
So - any of you can purchase anything from the Adventurers Gear:
HOWEVER - the merchant is charging DOUBLE the price that is listed, and only has the items available that are less than 25 gp (before the markup). Please double the price if you intend on buying anything from this guy.

Ignatia watched the men with a succesion of eyerolls that got progressively more pronounced as time went on while the older man ogled Shae her summoned servant crept across the floor and began tying the mans shoelaces together.
OOC: Mage Hand.
I assume he's distracted enough by being a cretin, but if not.
Considering Shae's earlier Persuasion roll along with your Sleight of Hand roll, and considering that both men are in fact distracted by Shae's bosom, along with the fact that we are not in any type of combat timing, Ignatia you succeed in your attempt to use the magical hand to tie Bildrath's leather bootlaces together.
So, the owner of the shop, Bildrath, currently has his boots tied together, and neither himself nor his nephew Parriwimple realize it.
Ignatia doesn't want to buy any of their stuff....though she's becoming more and more determined by the moment to come back later and set fire to the place....

Shae continues being nice, not letting on to the prank.
“My friends and I were hoping you had some silver weapons. I myself need a blade, maybe “this” long, and about two fingers wide? I would much prefer it if it were silvered but if not... well, a girl can make do I suppose...”
(She’s describing a short sword, but making it sound as sexual as possible to convince them to part with it for much cheaper if they have it. With my fighter level it becomes much more beneficial to use a short sword as a monk weapon over the staff.)
"...wait wait wait... lady, tell me again what kind of blade you need... and this time, say it niiiice and slow."
The jacked nephew interrupts:
"UNCLE BILDRATH!! BAHAHAHA!!!"
Bildrath once again:
"Listen here lady, I got no weapons for sale let alone silver ones. Ya think Strahd's gonna let us peddle weapons that may harm his "kind"? Heck no way. I'm just lucky the old vamp lets me put up shop here. Hell, ye'd be lucky to find a silver weapon anywhere in this land! Now, why don't you go ahead and describe that blade again and I'll see if something pops up."

(happy to do any retro purchases for Renny/Vylrila)
As the party joins Fil outside, you all hear a thud, and then a few things smashing. Likely glassware.
"Aaarrggghhh! What in the blue hell! God damn boots are tied together! Parriwimple, get over here and help me the **** up!"
8 So it seems Bildrath has fallen over, and smashed a few of his items. He's pissed, and may or may not assume the laces had something to do with one of you, but nevertheless, neither of them follow you outside to confront you about it.
So, you are all on one of the main streets, and it's still raining. You decide to make your way to the townhouse, the one in particular that had moaning and sobbing strangely emanating from it. As you start walking and turn down an oddly dark street, you hear the sound of small, wooden wheels rolling across the damp cobbles. You trace the lonely sound to a hunched figure bundled in rags, pushing a rickety wooden cart through the fog. The figure's back is towards you and they are nearing the end of the street that you're on. The figure, as far as you are aware, hasn't noticed you. They seem to be going the same way you are, although you could go a different way to get to the townhouse and avoid this figure altogether... if you want.

“Well, if you don’t have any weapons, then you’re no use to me. Have a good day.”
She smiles, and makes her way out of the shop. When she gets outside, she rolls her eyes at the other ladies in the group.
“Pathetic. One glance at a breast and they lose their minds. Shall we head to the townhouse?”
