So, you make your way over to the monastery without any problems. The building is fairly simple, made of local woods, with very minimal metal or stone features. The outer walls guard a courtyard where other monks stretch and exercise, meditate, and practice sparring. The building within the walls have no doors, only very light, gauzy curtains.
The monk you see is a Silver Dragonborn, who looks very weathered and aged. He bows back to you, bringing the backs of his hands together, palms facing outward.
"Ah, hello, Eglig Highfist. I am Dorama, the elder of this monastery. It is a pleasure to meet you, and I would be honored to show you our ways, and would be delighted if you would indulge us similarly?"
You're not yet experienced enough to do that, Eglig.
Domara starts to lead you through the monastery, showing you the various rooms for training, eating, sleeping, etc. It's all very sparse and clean, very minimalist
"We do not believe in any one organized religion. There are certain teachings from various religions we agree with, and we then combine those to create our own belief. For example, those who follow the widely popular religion of the Progenitor believe in progress, evolution, peace, prosperity, and security. We believe in those qualities as well, though we do not believe in the deity himself. We believe in personal ideals, rather than any being or deity which encompass them. We are friendly to all beliefs that are not harmful to others or themselves."
"Interesting, I see that your views are of a similar one to mine. I understand that a deity is not something you can just believe in, is it that you don't believe because you have never seen this Progenitor? Or is it a belief that life is the deity itself? The almighty thing that we should be thankful too?"
Deepening into the conversation I want to see how the progenitor influences the populace
"No, it is not because do not believe they exist, but that they should not have power or ownership of us. That is the problem with most religions... they willingly give all of themselves to this being that most likely has no clue or care that the person even exists. I suppose you could say we value freedom and self worth more than anything at this monastery. But that is how some deities influence their followers. They tell them of some great deed or thing they have done millennia back, and because no one can dispute it, they believe it. If it were indeed proven that the Progenitor had created the bipedal species, then of course I would acknowledge my creation as a byproduct of his will. But until it is proven so, I choose to believe I am a unique, cosmic miracle that simply.... occurred."
"Well, I believe these are very ethical teachings and I am excited to learn your ways and meet some of the other monks from the monsatery. I have nothing but respect for a wise man such as yourself. The freedom of ones soul and being should be allowed, I agree that there may be no one to back these claims but there is something I have seen that I am sure only rare few have, maybe this is something we can discuss later in private? Also, I wanted to ask about the way of the open hand. Is there anyone else who uses this here?"

Hello, my unconscious friend
Anything from Sawin? She's gonna be pretty helpful in Durk making it out alive.
(Not as of yet...)
Alright, well. We're gonna switch to Eglig for the time being then. Don't wanna leave her out.
So, Eglig, first, roll me a d20, no mods.

(omg Eden, the timing XD. We're focusing on Eglig rn, but we'll get back to you and Durk later.)
I make my way to the nearest monk to ask him some questions
"Hello, my name is Eglig Highfist Lakumamino I am a monk from a faraway land. I have come here to see how monk practices differ throughout the land."
Afterwards I bow my head with fist against a flat hand in greetings and out of respect

"Of course, I will be happy to learn your ways whilst simultaneously showing you mine. Now, where shall we start brother?"
I know that no matter how weathered and aged this Dragonborn may look...he is wise beyond his years, i try to sense his ki. (Can I do that? xD)
Roll me a nature check.

"So, is this a monastery that follows religion? Teaches it? And if so are you friendly to other religious teachings?"
I ask in curiosity

(thank god I'm doing this over text, I would have stumbled at stuttered so much trying to say that lol)
