After about another half hour, the gates are well insight. Made from large trunks tied together with many, many thick ropes, the gates are an impressive 15 feet in height, with two spring Eladrin elves acting as guards.
I approach within earshot of the elves and perk my head up to speak clearly "Greetings guards! We are accompanied by the Progenitors Maidens and require safe haven in the city"
"Not quite, this time it's of a more urgent nature, These maidens have been running from a large army of undead sighted near Eklevia , Hopefully we can put their minds to rest with a hot meal and a warm bed."
The guards narrow their eyes and look back towards Eklevia.
"We heard rumbling from there when you left here, and there have been more undead in the surrounding woods recently, but surely you're not telling me that the city has already been overtaken? What happened to the army?"
As I catch up, I intervene, having first hand experience. "We saw no defensive army in our escape, instead undead and hired folk abounded the citadel as we fled. A few attempted to stop us but we lay them to rest and ensured the safety of the Progenitors maidens with our departure"
"you wouldn't by any chance have a map or maybe some information as to the whearabouts of a tavern? we would like to rest and share a drink to our safe passage you see"
The guard looks at Eglig's torn clothes, then hands you a map from his pack.
"Here, take mine. We only have one tavern, but it's a nice, homely place. It's called The Silver Chain, 3 streets off of the main road here, on the right. Don't be causing any trouble, or you'll regret it."
"I wonder how much time has passed? the mountain seems much closer"
"i hope to find a tavern and swoon some locals"
I say with a smirk on my face to hide my intentions from the young maidens
"and also find out some information of course"
"Typical Bard" *rolls eyes dissapointedly*
Tabaxi Insight roll: 7
Durk, you intentions are well hidden.
I let out an audible sigh as I roll my eyes at the bard "You dont say goliath"

"I think we shall get along perfectly fine Sawin." as I stand proudly infront of the half orc and offer my hand out for a shake.
I dismiss his hand and point to the two guards, "We should probably deal with that first, then shake over a strong drink"
At this point the guards have seen you all, and wait patiently for you to get within speaking distance.
I approach within earshot of the elves and perk my head up to speak clearly "Greetings guards! We are accompanied by the Progenitors Maidens and require safe haven in the city"
The guards recognize you from your previous trip to Maplewood, and lowers his spear.
"Again, Half Orc? You were just here 3 days ago, why are you back? And with such a large group this time? A prisoner escape you need help with?"
"Not quite, this time it's of a more urgent nature, These maidens have been running from a large army of undead sighted near Eklevia , Hopefully we can put their minds to rest with a hot meal and a warm bed."

The guards step forward, surveying the party. The maidens corroborate your story and the guards quickly open the gates for you.
walks up to one of the guards
"you wouldn't by any chance have a map or maybe some information as to the whearabouts of a tavern? we would like to rest and share a drink to our safe passage you see"
"A drink sounds like the first thing you've said I agree with all day Durkannon!" I say as I let out a friendly laugh towards the end.
The guard looks at Eglig's torn clothes, then hands you a map from his pack.

"Well we should probably head to the shrine first"
"I agree we should finish our journey's intent before relaxing"
