Icierys caught a glimpse of Jayne out of the corner of eye, which widened as the the ball of energy manifested itself in her hands. Deciding to come back to that later, Icierys charged past Jayne, his free hand brushing past the symbol he carved into his shield on his hip. "Protect the embers to rekindle the flames," he muttered under his breath, and from his hands a small globe of energy flew toward Rhys, coating him in a protective field of energy.
Crabs 1 and 2 start nipping at the net of fish. Upon hearing Jayne's comment, one of the fishermen yells out "Like hell I'm abandoning my catch!" Both are far too stubborn to abandon their positions.
Ferdinand stays where he is and casts [Tooltip Not Found] at the same crab he targeted before. The crab has to succeed on a dc13 INT save or take 3 psyichic damage. On a fail the crab has to subtract 1d4 (1) from its next saving throw it makes until the end of ferdinands turn.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
After Rhys watches the crab he was attacking fall, he switched to the next closest one (5). As he gets ready to strike, he notices the huge reptilian humanoid in his periphery chant something before he feels the grasp of magic unlike his own. Pausing, to make sure it isn't anything detrimental, he prepares to attack again. Sparks again fly from the blade of his short spear. ( Booming Blade )
Attack: 6 Damage: 5
(Rhys then impales himself with his spear for being an utter failure. Haha)
Dyrdramande finishes her climb to the roof of the nearby building giving her the archer's vantage point she desired. Then she pulls her bow from her shoulder, carefully aims, and fires again at the same crab she missed before (1).
Longbow Attack: 13 Damage: 5
But even with the increased vision her arrow falls short, and she curses under her breath, "damn it." She's hit much smaller targets from much further away before. She calms herself and takes a deep breath of the wind, trying to sense if some foul magic is at play, sending her arrows off their mark.
Continuing in her movement toward the dock (J10), Jayne grabs the indigo blue crystal hanging around her neck, and hisses in Abyssal, "Hegh jagh yab yuvtlhe' chen ngeH." Black clouds obscure her eyes for a second as the same thing happens to the three crabs closest to the fishermen.
Translation from Abyssal (for DM and Ferdinand):
"Send the clouds of death to cover the minds of my enemies."
Whipping his shield off his hip, Icierys continues his charge forward. "Your lives are worth more than your catch!" His foot splashes into the water, and in the depths of his mouth a soft blue light begins to glow. With a blast of energy, Icierys lets loose a wave of biting cold that washes over the crabs.
Action: Breath Weapon, 15 ft. cone, affecting squares M12, N12, N13, O11, O12, and O13. Creatures in the area (which should hopefully just be the crabs) need to make a DC 12 Constitution saving throw, taking 10 cold damage on a failure, or half as much on a success.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
OOC: Breath weapon was a really smart choice considering our rolls so far LOL
As Jayne continues to run towards the crabs, a burst of frigid air erupts from the shoreline, engulfing all the crabs, just barely missing the fishermen.
[ooc]Since Rhys and I are tied, I'll post while I have opportunity.[/ooc]
Dyrdramande watches the docks darken and then brighten as arcane magic and dragon's breath flare across the crabs, some danger close to the fishermen that seem to need rescue. Such open use of magic seems much more dangerous to her than the harm some giant crabs could do, but that is for those citizens to deal with. She draws and looses again, still aimed for the crab she's been unable to hit (crab 1), hoping the winds favor her this time.
And yet again the winds find disfavor with her and the arrow sails wide of its mark splashing into the water. "Damn it!" She curses aloud this time. "At this rate I'll be spending some of the little coin I have left on arrows!"
[ooc]Sorry for the double post. I tried to edit the original post to add in the "missed" flavor, but it just kept saying "loading editor..." and never actually loaded.[/ooc]

(FINALLY. Also why is editor acting up?)
Focusing his fury into this strike, Rhys watches the skittering movements of the crab (3). He thrusts out with his normally faithful weapon and feels the chitinous armor of the crab give way. "Come at me, beast!" Rhys smiles as he watches the static energy surround the crab, and then waits for the creature to move. (If it moves at all, it takes 7 lightning damage).

Crab 1, 3, and 5 all get knocked out from Ferdinand's magic missile! The final crab, noticing its condition, scuttles underneath the boat and flees. Combat over.
As the situation eases, you all notice that a small crowd has gathered, remaining motionless around the outskirts of the battlefield. They're not staring at the fishermen or the dead crabs, they're staring at Ferdinand and Jayne. It isn't an awestruck stare either, but rather a silent, angst-filled one that puts you at unease.
