Tales from Talaveroth

"Well, I say we either all go see this man together, or I can fly over, possibly take Elhanna with me. In case the man needs medical attention, which Elhanna seems to have at least some experience in. And you three can buy any supplies you think we might need for our espionage trip. I don't think I can fly everyone. At most I could carry one of you in my arms and maybe Poinki hangs onto my leg."

Paren gives a bit of a sad smile. "It will be the other two. I'm going with Elixisys to deal with another problem back home. Some of my old 'friends' apparently need to be spoken too." 

“I think we should all go. You never know what you’ll meet on the road, and if someone sees a man sized bird carrying a woman, they might even call the guard. There is a great chance your ‘friend’ will catch wind of that rumor, especially  if they are looking for you.” She looks around at everyone. “As for the other mission. I usually don’t take quests without a clear pay, since I’m the only hope my family has to survive. But as you friend said..” she is looking at Paren when she say this “..we can keep what we can claim I think I can make an exception this time. I couldn’t accept the gold on the boat cause it wasn’t right of me to do so, but I am in a dire need of gold. My family and village can’t get enough to pay the ever rising taxes.” A lone tear roll down her cheek as she thinks of her family and all they have done for her. She missed them so much. “I hope you don’t think less of me because of that..”

"Poinki goes," says Poinki firmly. "Danger everywhere. Poinki protect." He raises his shield and flail proudly.

"Elhanna, sweetie... Why didn't you say so sooner?! Here, have some of mine. I only need enough to buy some gear and food, I'm not planning on getting rich."  Twitch rummages around in her purse, fishes out two gold coins and hands them over. "Hmmm, I had hoped I would have more. Perhaps I could sell my magical ring, and give you some of that money?"

Paren digs out his gold as well. "Take mine as well. I'll make the barkeep pay for me while I'm with him. The rest can be figured out when I return." 

Si'Juul plucks a few coins from his stash.

"Here. I can spare some coin as well"

He holds up 3gp to Elhanna.

“You guys..” she say and smile as some more tears find their way done her cheek. “But keep your money, it wouldn’t feel right to take it from you.. and if we’re taking this missions on we will need that gold for equipment.”

Poinki had been pulling a grubby purse out of his belt reluctantly, but at Elhanna's words, he stuffs it back into his belt with an expression of relief. "We get lots gold for church. Mission now? We go?"

"I guess so. Did your employer say where this guy's house is?"

Paren shakes his head. "He only said that his name was Oleg and he lived up the road in Valenta. My guess is a town that small would only have one cleric so he shouldn't be hard to find when you all get there."

"Small, small, town maybe only one road, too," Poinki adds.

"So we take the road out of here towards Valenta. Is there anything anyone feels we need to do in town before we leave while we are here?"

Since nobody speaks up, Poinki  says, "Okay, go now!" He heads for the door and on down the road, looking back to see if the rest of the party is following..

Si'Juul begins following Poinki, glancing around for any shifty people watching us.

Perception: 17

There's no one following you in the inn. As you pass by the café area Elixysis seems to reach up for a hat to tip before realizing he gave it away. "Heading off early then? Best of luck and safe travels. Tell Oleg to give me a message once you check in with him. If you're up for it then I'll give you further details on the job in Dastarius." 

Paren follows you all out the door. "I guess this is goodbye for now then. Stay safe and I'll see you all soon." 

Ooc: isn’t it like evening/night now? Or have I completely misread the time? 😅

(It's about mid-afternoon so you could get a couple of hours into your journey.)

“You too Paren.” Elhanna reply and give him a hug before exiting. 

Twitch is still feeling a bit unsure about this whole thing, but she hoped that by getting a working relationship with Elixysis she might be able to better help Si'Juul. Also, if they were to make some money in the process, ELhanna could be helped at the same time. To her, that made the task ahead a definite win-win for now. She waved both of them goodbye, as she also made her way out onto the road, following the exitable goblin cleric, feeling his call to adventure.
