Paren nods. 'There are always those who would abuse things that are meant for good. Well I guess give me what you can. And, if you know, who would I speak too about becoming approved? It seems I will be working here for some time, I should try to actually be able to do my work."

"Oh no, most any good here that conceivably could serve the vices is controlled. Alcohol is tapped only in the taverns, and not sold to anyone other than licensed traders. No dangerous alchemical ingredients are sold, unless the buyer can provide a license from the guild of the Most Careful Chemists. As for obtaining such reigstration- there might be a way to convince the guild to let you join, or else there's the chance that the Archbishop might enact an exception."

"Okay, I suppose it might have been easier to ask this instead. Out of everything sold in every shop here in this town, is anything not under any restrictions? Potions, basic equipment, and the like?"

At Dante's question, Poinki opens his mouth...and closes it again. What was it he was calling himself now? Fredegar something? Oh, yes-- "Frundo Farthingale," he says. "Halfling. It is good to meet in the light of Ilmater."

Dante raises an eye at the addition of Frundo's race: "Nice to meet you Frundo and the light of Ilmater guide you. Are you often mistaken as something else? Or do you hail from a region where halflings are uncommon?"

The Apothecary gives a busy nod: "Yes yes, of course, commerce would be impossible otherwise. You will find that the cobblers here can make you some excellent boots, and our gold smiths make the finest jewellery this side of the Umber Hills. Some artisans have even begun to spellweave in their creations, and although the church very much dislikes the practice, the sale of clothing items and jewellery is not controlled. Food is freely available, although you won't find any meat on the first day of the week. The taverns are allowed to serve alcohol during their regulated hours of operation. And as far as my specialties are concerned: I can sell you ingredients and potions to cure general ailments and brew all sorts of tonics, but I am prohibited to sell ingredients to fashion poisons and debilitating substances, or sedatives to individuals without the necessary licenses. I can't speak for the armourers and smiths, but I'd imagine that the general goods stores are able to provide you with the necessary items. That being said, registering with the Right Honourablel Order of Custodians would not only get you the necessary license to purchase many of the items you seem to be seeking, it would also likely provide you with sizable discounts for lodging in one of their barracks."

"Umm...just making sure peoples know," Poinki says. "Just making sure. Peoples do not shout, 'Look a halfling!' and run after with pitchforks and axes. So...just making sure."

”excuse my friend here. He has had a bit of trouble in the past and has just recently found the light in Ilmater.” She lay a hand on Ponkis head. “I wouldn’t say it is unusual, it just that we haven’t come by that sort of chanting before” she cover “and we have just had some ill-fortunate  business with a mad man chanting that phrase a few days ago. He claimed that the church was corrupt. I wouldn’t put any belief in it but it doesn’t hurt to be careful. Well it is probably time for us to move on now.” She take out an 3gold pieces and press them in to Dante’s hand. “Please , make sure the girl is take care of.” 

"Have my thanks, kind woman. I'll do that!" WIth that, you figure he has forgot about the phrase already, just happy to have enough to get the two of them lodged up somewhere for a week or so. 

Are you making your way back to the tavern, or exploring further?

Paren nods. "Well, give me what you can. I'll have to make do without the rest until I can figure things out." 

"Certainly sir, tha'd be five gold pieces then." He sets out the necessary supplies for you to inspect them, before collecting payment from you.

Would you like to head back to the tavern, or continue exploring?

Si'Juul stands out gazing at the night sky while Paren gets his supplies.

"So, anything else you want to look at or should we go look for the others?"

Paren shrugs. "Might as well go back to the others. Doesn't seem as though I will be able to access most of the more helpful things I would need in this city. I doubt any guild is going to let me in." 

"Might as well. Not much else open this late anyway. Didn't they say they wanted to look up some temple? Should we head to the religious district or just wait for them at the tavern?"

(Twitch and Oleg went and secured rooms I think) 

After speaking, helping out and healing those in need Elhanna is ready to get going. She is no longer comfortable to send her gold back home via the church. They might take it for their nefarious deeds.

If there is anything Ponki wants to do she is willing to assist him in it. 

Poinki will happily follow Elhanna around. But he will try to sell his chain shirt and one of the greatswords he picked up, and buy a bow and some arrows.

"I say the tavern. I would like a meal and I don't want to discover that those can only be served during certain hours to avoid gluttony. Plus I believe I owe you all a story." 

Poinki, as you head back toward the main market square, you pass by a small armourer's shop. Like others you've seen before, this shop too is built underground, which suits the female duergar proprietor perfectly. As you walk in, she puts down her hammer and turns around, spits into a bucket and wipes her greasy hand on her leather apron, before extending it to you. Her grey skin is bulging with muscles from her trade, and with her white mohawk, she makes a rather striking figure, particularly for her size.

"The name's Crash.What can I do for ya?" Upon presenting the chain shirt, she inspects it carefully: "Hmmm, it's good make, but some of the links here are broken... I could fix it up, but I reckon it'd take me 'bout a day and a half... all told, I'll give ya twenty gold pieces for it. What's that? The greatsword too? Lemme see..." With that, she takes the blade that is comically large for both of you, and inspects it carefully as well. "I ain't no weaponsmith, but the steel on this one's good and could make a nice helmet or breastplate if melted down. I'll give ya forty gold pieces for the lot."

"I agree. Let's get a bite to eat and put our feet up. Hopefully the others remember which tavern we're meeting in."

Si'Juul begins walking with Paren towards the Driftwood tavern.

If nothing stops them on the way or in front of the place, then Si'Juul will walk in the tavern and immediately take stock of who's dwelling within among the patrons.

Poinki happily accepts the gold. (Is Poinki large enough to use the second greatsword?  If not, he would sell that, too.)

I guess Frundo and Elhanna will make their way to the inn after selling off the loot as well.
