As soon as you've finished breakfast, Waldmann leads you all out into the woods as early as possible. After leaving the village and a short walk through the fields, you enter the forest. Wren, you notice easily that this part of the forest is cultivated for firewood, fruit, and for pigs to roam in. As always with wilderness travel of this length, Waldmann will act as a Guide, but the roles of Survivalist and Scout will need to be fulfilled. The journey should take about 5 hours to reach the Horned Monk, so it's only a short stretch in (Challenging -10%) terrain. One (Routine +10%) Toughness test for the journey will need to be made.
Survivalist (Challenging -10%) Survival Test: ?? Scout (Challenging -10%) Stealth Test: ?? All then make one (Routine +10%) Toughness Test.
The role checks are Fail Forward skill tests. That means even if you fail or critically fail, you still reach your destination - you just take 1d10+1 Peril as a result. If you fail the Toughness test you also take 1d10+1 Peril for the stress of the journey.
Pauladean looks sheepishly around the rest of the group, wondering who our group scout is. "Surely you can't think that a brute like me is a good scout? I'm more a frontal assault kinda gal! Bob and weave, bob and weave..." (OOC: her skill level is 40%)
Wren wasn't exactly the sneakiest fellow out there, so him scouting about wouldn't be the best idea, but he will begrudgingly do so had no one else stepped up to the plate.
Toughness 42 + 10%: 73
(In the case of no one has better than a 42, I'll roll to scout) 42 - 10%: 84

THE HORNED MONK
The forest turned wild and soon a natural rock wall rose to their right - the edge of the Horned Monk. You continued through the forest, keeping to the wall on your right until, about two hours after departing the village, Waldmann seemed to disappear behind a rocky outcrop. As you follow him around, you can see a crack in the cliff face up which you could clamber to the summit, 6 yards above. It was time to climb.

Klaus, the serving boy at The Cowardly Orx, emerges from the bushes next to you, scaring the ******* shit out of you all.
Waldmann startles and sighs. "Klaus! What are you doing here?" he demands in a hushed whisper.
"I want to help! You're my hero, sir, you are! Please let me help!" Klaus said. You can tell he's a bit of a dimwit.
"Fine." Waldmann resigned. "Stay low, and keep quiet!"
As they talk, something terrible happens.

You fail to push Waldmann out of the way in time. The arrow thunks deeply into his right eye and into his brain.

Klaus shrieks in disbelief, and from a nearby break in the trees, a humanoid creature begins to run away from you all up the hill.
If you wish to pursue him, a chase challenge will begin.
