"Oh my," Heishe murmurs, hand slipping idly into her pocket. "Now then, no need for all this shouting, we're on your side, more or less."

Cora stood there, sheathing her blades as to look nonthreatening. Her hand didn't move from the holster tho, she's not a stupid ass. As her usually style was kicking the crap out of people for answers, or having a rough edged attitude, she let the more appropriate team members talk. For now.

Thirteen against five, though? She liked those odds.

The guards quickly search the bodies, "Looks like Zhent on Xan violence." 

The captain looks at Renear, "Well then, Renear, what on this good earth got you here? Rescued eh? " He turns to all of you, "Hyustus Staget, captain of the watch in this ward. Since all of this seems to have happened before you got here. I won't have to charge you with anything. Although you may want to read the rules of the city, the Code Legal, if you are staying in here for a long time." He hands each of you a Code Legal. "Now then, you found Renear, what is your next plan? How did you know he had been kidnapped? Even my officers hadn't heard of that yet."

"Zhent on Xan. Khkh." Cora snorted, thinking of a joke, sexually. She shook her head quickly, dismissing the thought. Focus dumbass. The five oh are here. "Thank you, Captain. I am well aware of the city rules. Seeing as how I, well, live here." she kinda lied. "We were just passing by, saw some suspicious individuals lurking about, decided to check it out. Lucky for us, we just happen to find Raenar here, unharmed. We will leave you all to do your work. We were just leaving. Come, everyone." she says, a little louder than usual, dropping a hint.

Lu-lu cocks her head, “Wha-“ as she is forcibly escorted by Cora, foreseeing some serious confusion from the powerfully built Genasi. As they leave the building, she’ll call out to the guard, “Thank you for the flyer!”

"Indeed, we were." Heishe gives the captain a warm smile. "Thank you so much for your devotion in protecting our lovely city, Captain. I will make sure to review the Code Legal to avoid any accidental breaches. I do hope not to see you again!" She gives a light laugh and sweeps off after the group, neatly folding the Code Legal into a small square that she slips into a pocket.

At least the half dragon girl got the hint. Once they were outside, she turned to Lu-lu. "****s sake, Lu-lu, we don't need law enforcement entanglement right now. They'll just slow us down and get in our way. Trust me. The longer we dilly dally, the less hot this lead becomes." she explained. "Come on. We gotta find a way into the sewers."

Drusilla follows Cora while reviewing the Code Legal.

As you go to leave Cora, Staget leans in and whispers to you, “Best not to meddle in criminal matters. Leave this dirty business to the City Watch. Not all City Watch officers are as nice as me. Keep the blood off the streets, okay?”

You are easily able to, based on the information from the kenku, find a circular metal cover inset in the pavement. The cover is easily lifted, revealing a ladder down into the sewers.A putrid stream flows along this sewer tunnel, which leads in two directions. In one direction, you see a tiny symbol drawn on the wall in yellow chalk: a palm-sized circle with ten equidistant spokes radiating out from its circumference. It is dark so yall need a light or darkvision to see. At every location where characters must make a decision about which direction to go, a symbol scrawled in yellow chalk is marked next to the tunnel that leads in the right direction.

After an hour of following signs through the tunnels, you come to a three-way intersection where a ladder leads up into a stone shaft capped by a circular metal cover. One of the familiar chalk symbols is marked on a wall nearby, and floating near the symbol is a spherical, grapefruit-sized creature with a bulging central eye and four stumpy eyestalks. It bares its teeth at you.

As they continue on to the sewers, Lu-lu will calm her mind, focusing on each footstep, reflecting on what they’ve learned so far as to not forget.... sewers, winged snakes named Zhentarim, Xanathar? Floon the not-prince was taken by the Xanathar into the sewers, because of a Golarr??? Oh! She needs to remember to check in at some point with her CO in the order of Aster’s tower... why does she keep forgetting about that?

Lu-lu walks towards the floating mass, “Hello! My name is Lu-lu, how are you today?” She flashes a warm smile.

"Of course. Thank you officer." Cora said, giving the best fake smile she could, and turned to leave. If you only KNEW what I did before to keep this city safe, you **** - she thought to herself sarcastically. All the criminals she arrested, extorted, murdered, etc. And all the other threats her organization secretly protected the city from? Not that she was looking for a thanks. She didn't care about those things.

So, when they got to the floating grapefruit beholder, she did what she did best. She drew her blades and plunged them into it.

Vincent has no issues with the city guard just doing their job, the older gentlemen merely giving them a two fingered salute in response to their warning.

The rest was short, but he was rejuvenated enough to continue on with no complaints.

The fighter reaches out to try and stop Lulu from approaching the beholder, but is too late and only sighs... followed by a facepalm when he sees Cora straight up stab the damn thing.

Cora's first attack lands (I'm gonna rule no sneak attack since it was expecting an attack and LuLu wouldn't count as hostile to it yet given her reaction and she also wouldn't be within 5 ft.) and cuts deep into the side of the floating eye. 

Lu-lu, figuring Cora knew something she didn’t, pills out her shield and hand axe and hacks into it.
