"It does, vaguely." Cora said to herself, and to Lu-lu at the same time, looking ahead down the street. "If I remember correctly, and it's been a while, the Xanathar Guild and the Zhentarim are not exactly friends. I lost a work partner a long time ago in a bad move of underestimation. Both are unscrupulous groups - as I was. Both are two factions that are not easily trifled with. We should be on our guard."

Lu-lu’s eyes sparkle at the intrigue, “oooooooh... a tragic story....”

"Well. To me, anyways.." Cora muttered. "I made lots of mistakes when I was younger. And, Hells knows, I paid for them dearly, in many ways." 

Lu-lu leans in really....really close, her eyes shimmer like the opal on her skin, she almost whispers, her voice shaking with excitement, “Will you tell me the story??”

"No." Cora says, flatly, her eyebrows slightly scrunching. She backs up an inch. "We're on duty. Focus."

Lu-lu nods her head vigorously, “Right. Right, sorry, I get distracted easily. I’m sorry.” She keeps an eye on Cora the rest of the walk to the alley, her eyebrows and facial features twisting in contorting showing obvious signs that she’s trying to figure out what Cora’s story might be, logging away her top 3 favorite theories to ask her later.

"It seems like we've stumbled into something here, with the sons of nobles being kidnapped by strange men. Perhaps Erathis meant for me to be here."

Lu-lu swivels to Drusilla, “What is Erathis like?”

“Full of inquiries aren’tcha Lulu?” The fighter asks with a chuckle.

She winks at Vincent, “momma always told me I was a curious cat. Something about Genasi born with gems makes us extra.”

"She is Order incarnate. She created the law and those who uphold it worship her."

Heishe smiles faintly as she listens to the group chatter back and forth, the dragonborn playing idly with a small, crystal icicle charm on a silver chain around her neck.

“Wait, what about places with different laws?”

"What about them? Law is law."

“Oh! I thought Erathis was god of the laws... you meant Law is an idea.” Lu-lu nods sagely, “Very noble. So what do you do as a priestess of Erathis? Is that why you’re here in the city?”

Gloom envelops a narrow alley as dark as a dungeon — and as odorous as one, too. Nearly all the streetlamps have been smashed. The only light that pierces the darkness is a faint flickering from down the lane, like a distant candle. A warehouse is directly across the street from the lamp, which illuminates a black winged snake painted above the door’s handle. 

If you would either have ties to the criminal underworld or are well traveled make an intelligence check to recognize the snake.
