Cobash laughs, "Shaman in my village did same tricks," he then stops smiling and his vision seems to fade off into the distance, remembering, "You'll need more than that for killing evil." And with that, Cobash turns to look out behind the wagon again, cleaning his halberd and making sure the weapon was sharp.
At the newcomer's command, the black carriage begins moving again; three on the inside among the violet colored cushioned seating area, one dangling off the tailend with some of the travel supplies and replacement parts, and one on top; just behind the driver. "Tarric's the name." He says to Redrik. "I see you both are also from The Borderlands; though from some of the more remote regions." He motions back towards Cobash. "I haven't seen one of his tribe for at least ten years, and that was a somewhat lucky encounter; could have gone a lot worse." He then looks to Redrik. "As for your people, I've never actually seen one of your order... or was it Discipline? Either way, I've only heard rumors; good to see that they are pretty spot on." As he gets the four large horses moving again, he adds; "Good to know that such strong warriors will be joining our quest. Though since both your people are pretty isolated, just remember to ask me any questions you may have about The Borderlands; I've spent decades travelling our lands. Odds are I'll know the answer to whatever questions you may have."
The large carriage finally makes it's way off of Academy Road and begins entering into The Capital proper. A large event appears to be occurring. Even from this great distance, echos of cheers can be heard from the massive arena; and the streets are cluttered with people moving towards and from the excitement; vender booths can be seen farther down the road, selling food and merchandise. Luna, Addi, and Branra know this yearly event as the Tournament of the Heroes of the Realm; where those not trained by Mentor are able to compete to earn the title and aid in the defense of The Empire.
The impressively large magical image of the Baron Lord of the Capital, Golden Crown, stands within the arena; likely announcing it's start. Heroes from across the land are battling the dangers that have seeped into the Empire's lands. Those that are truly great may even be granted the title of Guardian of the Realm by the Emperor himself; though only the truly amazing are gifted that title, with less a dozen receiving it over the last hundred years.
The carriage veers off of the main road towards the arena, heading instead down a side road towards the outer market. It pulls to a stop outside a small shop with a symbol of a healing potion hung above the door. "Branra, you should be able to find those healing kits here, and other supplies that you all will need." He then ties the reins to the carriage, and gives a long stretch.
Luna hops out of the carriage and stretches showing her full height of 6ft; a mace and sickle hanging at her hips. She has a kite shield that is light blue, with the metal parts painted purple, on her back. She walks to the back of the carriage and looks at Cobash; she feels safe around him.
(I'm assuming the sickle is the large 2 handed type?)
Cobash looks around at the strangeness of the city, then turns to Luna as she comes around to join him. "You like it here? Too many people." Then seeing the sickle, "Interesting weapon. You were a farmer?"
Redrik points to the wheel. "The squares! You have achieved remarkable efficiency of motion through a careful application of Eramis the Geom's theory of internal shapes! A geometric circle through concentric identical shapes! The squares!"
Tearing himself from the contemplation of the carriage wheel, he addresses the group. "So, what is the plan? We buy healing supplies with... those small bits of metal you have there. Then we go to that temple over there?" He waves his hand towards the stadium.
Branra chuckled lightly at Redrick's ignorance about the basics of life in the Capital City, although, to be honest, the young barbarian was making similar mistakes when he first arrived in the City a little over a year earlier.
"Does anyone need any other supplies before we head out of Capital City and towards the Border Lands? Arrows, supplies to cast magic spells, bed rolls, water flasks, or any other gear?"
He will grab a handful of coins and stash them in a pocket within his cloak before heading into the store to see about buying healing kits and any other supplies that people might want.
"Hmmph, so that's what little things are for," Cobash looks at the gold pieces he's collected recently. "Can I get hammer and iron spikes here? Need for hunting trap."
Branra walks into a well maintained Healer shop, with a variety of healing related gear as well as an array of potions. There is a short but very muscular half-elf dusting off the counter; their back to you. You notice that their skin has been bronzed by the sun, all but along long pale scars. They look to be from some battle long removed, moving up along their arm until they meet an unusual golden birthmark on their shoulder.
Turning around, their masculine form meets a surprisingly feminine elven face, though still quite squared and hardened from age and combat. Their auburn hair is cut short and close on the sides; matching the shade of one of their two eyes, the other is as golden as the birthmark. They say, in an unusually high pitched voice; "Greetings, what do you need?"
Branra smiled as the elf turned around to greet him. "Greetings, my party" (pointing outside toward the carriage) "and I are looking to purchase a couple healing kits. Also, might you carry hammers and metal spikes, or know of somewhere nearby where we might by those." Slowly, counting his companions on his fingers "Luna, Addi, Cobash, Redrick, and myself, there are five of us. How many kits do you think we should purchase for a little expedition to the Borderlands?"
They respond; "Depends on how close you are going to the border of The Borderlands. Just stepping into the territory; maybe one each. But since you are also looking for hammers and pitons; my guess is that you are heading closer to the mountains of The Northern Chaos Wastes; for that, I'd suggest getting Healing Potions instead of kits, or probably a few of both."
They start counting on their fingers. "Hmm, five of you; and say five potions and five kits each; plus the pitons and hammers; that would be eighty gold for each of you, and I'll go pick up the hammer and pitons for you myself. Lets call it an even four hundred gold." Their face is stern, and patiently awaiting your reply.
Tarric replies to Redrik; "That's not a temple, though one could argue that point. It's the Arena. There is a big yearly event going on, where people are trying to become heroes. Its a big show, but they do good; fighting off whatever monsters made their way into the borders of The Empire." He motions towards Luna and Addi; "Unlike this lot, which were trained to deal with the dangers from outside The Empire's lands; that threaten The Empire itself, and not just it's people."
"For moving onward! Yes! Much Empire to see today!"
Branra laughs with Cobash, and raises his fist in salute. "Yes, I know. I bring more than tricks against the forces of Chaos."

Redrik dismounts and resumes his study of the carriage wheels.
"What you looking at there, my friend?" Tarric asks.
Luna hops out of the carriage and stretches showing her full height of 6ft; a mace and sickle hanging at her hips. She has a kite shield that is light blue, with the metal parts painted purple, on her back. She walks to the back of the carriage and looks at Cobash; she feels safe around him.
"I am looking at the squares!" Redrik excitedly explains.
(I'm assuming the sickle is the large 2 handed type?)
Cobash looks around at the strangeness of the city, then turns to Luna as she comes around to join him. "You like it here? Too many people." Then seeing the sickle, "Interesting weapon. You were a farmer?"

(Cobash, Luna's sickle is the one handed light type; but those may also be used by farmers/gardeners)
Tarric looks down to the wheels, then back to Redrik. "Um... thank you." He appears confused, but is always glad to take a complement.
Tearing himself from the contemplation of the carriage wheel, he addresses the group. "So, what is the plan? We buy healing supplies with... those small bits of metal you have there. Then we go to that temple over there?" He waves his hand towards the stadium.

(Branra, make a Insight check DC 12)

(OOC - just so you know, it was spikes, not pitons, Cobash was looking for. It's for use with his hunting trap.)
"Oh. I do not understand." Redrik nods as Tarric explains a little more about the Empire's strange ways.
"Perhaps we can... watch?"
