The party rest through the remainder of the night without incident. The morning brings sunshine to the mountainous terrain, peering over the mountains, the tower and island it stood on are almost completely destroyed.
Getting up refreshed, Gadston stretches and yawns loudly. Overhearing his companions he will say: "If that book has little to no information in it I would suspect it is a ruse so we will go away. If it were a book to convert one into an undead, I'd wager it would have more than what it does.":
Gadston says this but is not sure of it all. He expresses he still has misgivings of letting this book get out among the populous if it is authentic.
Direcris sighs and places the items back in the bag. "You have a point. I suppose we shall have to deal with any consequences." He gives a rueful smile. "A shame there was not more that we could have learned or gained for ourselves."
Dench shrugs. "Yes," he says to Uri and Direcris. "We are agreed. Hopfully the consequences are not to be feared. Are we moving toward the town, then?"

Sir Gadston
Gadston stretches a bit, picks up his gear: "If it's moving towards us my good Uri, then we are in an entirely different realm and those mysteries of the afterlife won't be mysteries much longer." Gadston says ruefully. Gadston looks himself over. "By the light, I need a hot bath and a good massage, hopefully from a young woman scantily clad and a firm touch."
With that Gadston sets off little ways and waits for the rest of the party. Upon exiting the magical INN he will look around for any dangers that might be lurking.
The Hut disperses and Direcris arranges his possessions as he stands. "Hot food and a lot of ale as well. And no need to come this way again." He heads toward Gadston.
Uri takes the lead, concerned about a repeat of the earlier bandit encounter and cautious of them letting their guard down. "Keep a wary eye out behind", he calls, "We don't know for sure that there is nothing left to follow us."
The party marches along for the better part of an uneventful may. Just after midday you all arrive back in town and can make your way to the Iron Light Inn. With nicer weather the town is a bit more lively and the tavern at the inn more lively. There is a a halfling strumming a lute in the corner and the same patchy-bearded dwarf greets you as you come in.

"Well, that wasn't so hard. Shall we return to fame and riches?", suggests Uri lightly.
"I would love the quiet of that. But first, the question." Direcris takes out the compass, book, and skull. "What of the old woman?"
"I'm in favor of fame and riches," Dench says. "To the town and the bar?" He will turn in that direction.

"We agreed to a contract", Uri observes. "Is it for us to moralise now?"

"Surely it will not move towards us!", ripostes Uri with a grin, grabbing his posessions.

"But how much better sounding it is."

Dench cinches up his backpack and joins the others in the walk back to the pub.
