Claire grits her teeth. "Pay the price for your sins," she tells him, gritting her teeth and trying to hit him just one more time. This is embarrassing... my family would be so disappointed to see me missing this much, she thinks to herself privately, her grip on her weapon just a little too tight.
Claire focuses in on her opponent, determined to make this count. She swings mightily at Scraggs but he somehow brings his scimitar up to block. However this is just a ruse from the expert polearm warrior who spins in place bringing the full force of her momentum to bear and smacks the first mate on the side of the head with the handle of the glaive. The old sea dog slums down, unconscious at her feet.
You have a moment but can hear loud footsteps on the three ladders which lead up to this deck from below. And where before you could see a dim light under the aft cabin door there is now a definite glow like a lantern.
Congratulations on defeating Scraggs! In the spirit of avoiding unnecessary casualties at 1st level, you can all level up to Second Level! Add on your extra HP, leaving wounds as they are. You gain extra spell slots instantly too. Ask me on Discord for any other queries.
You have one round to prepare and then we'll be into more trouble as guards are rushing up from below. So feel free to post a round's worth of actions/preparation and then I'm going to re-roll Initiative as this will be a fresh fight.
Claire leans over, huffing and trying to catch her breath as her heart races. "This isn't the first real fight I've been in... but it's the first time I've done it on my own, without a company of soldiers by my side," she admits a little shakily, trying to get her bearings. Common sense soon takes hold as the noise of the unrest from below swells. Quickly whipping out her rope, she binds Scraggs with it, and kicks his scimitar and any other weapons he had on him a good distance away, just in case.
Scragg's dagger is ornate with a pearl inlaid handle and an engraving of a shark running down the razor-sharp blade. It feels snug and comfortable in Vaclav's hand as he picks it up. The noble wizard's quick action rapidly gets the fire put out and Claire has the first mate bound up with her rope. Those two are on the main deck, towards the aft of the ship. Ralfi, Salazar and Nos Heliwr are still on the forecastle.
Ralfi, Salazar and Nos Heliwr are still to say what they are doing before the next fight begins.
Ralfi looks up at the moon, and calls upon it's blessing. A transformation takes place...
Brown fur begins to amass in patches on his skin, while his muscles swell and split from their usual contours. The lad's facial features slope downwards, elongating into a snout of sorts. His eyes, though retaining their olive colour, become tinted with predator-yellow. Then protrude from his skin the claws, the paws, the fearsome teeth....
A brown bear now stands where Ralfi had stood.

Hi there! I'm a Christian musician based in Canada :)
Claire spins around just in time to watch Ralfi's transformation occur with wide eyes. Werebeast!she almost cries out, her hand tightening around the glaive, before she realizes that he's not actually turned into a half-human creature. What escapes instead is an undignified squawk of terror. Druids... I've heard of their kind before, she thinks with a flush of embarrassment, looking around quickly to see if anyone heard her. Valcav was surely laughing by now, she thought, her cheeks reddening enough to match her hair.

You spend a few moments getting ready for the next wave of guards. And sure enough they come on. They've obviously been in communication down below you as three guards rush on to the main deck simultaneously. They are coming up the three ladders, one out of each. So there is one at the fore of the ship and two at the aft.
Separately, the door to the fore cabin opens and out strides a tall, slim and immaculately dressed fella. He wears the latest fashions and a wide brimmed hat. He has a hooded lantern in his right hand and a jewelled cutlass in his left. His gaze sweeps imperiously across the deck, taking most of you in. He does a double take as he spots Ralfi on the forecastle above him and then his eyes narrow in on Vaclav across the main deck.
"You," he spits, placing the hooded lantern down on the deck to the side. "I should have known. I told them it was more trouble than it was worth taking you captive. But they wouldn't listen. Oh well, it comes to nothing now, as now I'm just going to have to kill you myself, like I told them they should have done weeks ago. Time to die little rich boy." Sneering the man advances, his focus almost exclusively on Vaclav.
Ralfi wins initiative! He can act, then it's the bad guys.
Locations: Ralfi and Salazar: forecastle (up the stairs from the main deck where the Gentleman and the Guards are). Nos Heliwr: in the rigging above the forecastle Clair and Vaclav: On the main deck, pretty much surrounded by the Gentleman and the three guards. You are much nearer the aft end of the deck. The Gentleman and one guard: main deck, forward. 2 other guards: main deck, aftward.
The main deck is about 70' long so it will take most people a whole round (double move) to cross it.

It takes a few seconds for the bear that was Ralfi to adjust to his...situation. Any knowledgable druid would have recognized it straight away: this is the lad's first time experiencing Vilt Logun, or Wild Shape.
The first thing to happen is as follows: Ralfi's human consciousness is transferred to his Ursine conduit. In this process, certain adaptations occur to accommodate the physical changes wrought by Vilt Logun, and this makes the bear's few seconds ones of utter disorientation and confusion.
After the mental shift has been completed, Ralfi takes a moment or two to assume control of his powerful body. Every muscle contraction he feels, every image he sees, every scent he detects, every thought that passes through his mind....everything is altered to fit his Ursine form. Despite his retention of human memories and emotions, it would not be fair to say that this fearsome bear is Ralfi any longer...too much has been changed.
As a result of his sharpened senses, the new Ralfi detects everything...Claire's sharp intake of horrified breath, Nos's ascent of the foremast, the tall and elegant stranger striding across the forecastle deck.
In the deep chasm of the bear's stomach, a deep, guttural growl begins to quake. The awful sound rises up through his throat, and splits like a terrible earthquake from his damp maw.
With this, Ralfi takes two plodding steps in front of the lank gentleman, blocking his path to Valvac. In the blink of an eye...
Ralfi attempts to bite his throat, and follows this attack up with a heavy claw to the gut:
Bite
Attack: 21 Damage: 6
Claw
Attack: 26 Damage: 12
(If the gentleman attempts to move away from Ralfi, he is preparing an opportunity attack with the benefits of the Sentinel feat)
Ralfi lumbers down the ladder from the higher forecastle deck, down onto the main deck and intercepts the swanky gentleman as he heads for Vaclav. The huge bear bites the man on the shoulder, ripping his quality shirt asunder and causing blood to pour down his chest. The man just ducks under the swipe of the heavy claw which follows. This gentleman is clearly very keen to reach Vaclav as he moves away from the ursine, focus on the young noble.
Ralfi can have his AoO as the man is moving and not disengaging. Assuming he's still alive after leaving Ralfi's threatened area, the man will move and spend his action moving, trying and push past Claire which means she can also have an AoO as he enters her reach. He won't have enough of an action left to attack Vaclav as the main deck is so long (70' from end to end)
Everyone else can have their turns as well, to speed things up. Remember you can't move from one end of the ship to the other and make an attack; it's too far.

The moment the dandy comes within reach, Claire attacks with her glaive, hoping to keep him at bay.
Attack: 18 Damage: 10
He seems to be dead set on attacking Vaclav, so Claire plants herself squarely in his way, and rushes him with the pole of her glaive, trying to force him away from the other man. "Hold it right there," she growls as she blocks him.
Attack: Grapple: Athletics check: 8
(If the grapple is successful, Claire will use her action surge. If it isn't, she won't yet. Holding off on the rest of this turn to see what the results of the grapple are first.)
Vaclav reaches into the pouch on his belt and takes out a piece of leather, running it around his wrist before slapping in into the centre of his chest, casting mage armor. He then tries to back away from all the threats as much as he can.

Ralfi grabs the dandy with a razor sharp claw. You can almost hear him growl, "You're not going anywhere."
The man staggers but does not fall, though he is bleeding profusely. Instead with no choice left to him, he turns his wrath on Ralfi-the-bear. He summons the guard at his end of the ship to his side and commands with an educated voice, "Get behind him, George. If we keep him between us, one of us will land a telling blow." The guard, George, instantly obeys with clipped, "Yes, captain!"
Ralfi quickly realizes the captain is skilled swordsman and knows his tactics. He takes major advantage of any openings his companion provides
Guard George: Attack: 13 Damage: 5 Captain: Scimitar 1st Attack, with Advantage due to Guard within 5': 12 Damage: 5 Captain: Scimitar 2nd Attack, with Advantage due to Guard within 5': 20 Damage: 8 And if either attack hits there will be an extra 7 damage due to Advantage.
In total Ralfi takes 25 damage! But he's a big, brown bear so is still standing!
The bear takes a terrible slashing across its sides and chest. Ursine bloody pours into the deck, but at least Ralfi can take heart in the fact that the captain is also a bloody mess.
Meanwhile at the other end of the ship, two guards approach Claire and Vaclav warily. Claire slashes at the first one as he comes within reach, which cuts him deeply, but he is still holding his cutlass in slippery bloody hands and the two guards try and take her down.
Claire hit the first guard for 9 damage with her Attack of Opportunity, but he's just about still standing so both will attack her:

Nos Heliwr, smiling grimly from his lofty perch, will shoot the Captain. "Death from above." he whispers to himself.
Attack: 18 Damage: 8
As he watches his bolt strike true, Nos Heliwr grins fiercely. "Yer lucky Fancyman tha' I no be angry wicha," he say in a voice intended to reach the Captain through the shock of the unexpected blow.
Nos Heliwr's bolt lances down from above. Ralfi is holding the dandy in place and it makes for a relatively easy shot, but the assassin's accuracy is sublime and the bolt enters the back of the captain's neck and comes out the other side through his throat, spraying crimson over the remaining guard. His teachers would have been proud of that one.
3 guards remain, one of which is heavily wounded. Salazar still to act.
