Fianna will cast a 2nd level [spell[Cure Wounds[/spell] on Dain twice and ask Katernin if she can see to Molo... Once done, Fianna will slump against the wall pooped and declare that she needs a rest!
Cure Wounds on Dain for 18 plus 9
Hopefully that gets him up close to good and he can bust himself out!
“That <cough> was wet.” Molo splutters for several moments. “I vote we go up and take a moment to recuperate. Then we come back for that… cowardly creature.”
Dain is slowly, and with help, able to break his way out of his bonds and stand up.
All is quiet, aside from the creaking of the old ship and the sound of the swells thumping against the listing vessel. There is no sign of the wounded spider.
If you haven't already (e.g. Kelnan), anyone may roll three Nature checks to try to remember anything about the creatures you just battled (bipedal thing, big hairy spider, swarm.)
If you want to take a short rest, you should decide where and how.
"I think back upstairs? There was at least a door we could block, and the hatch to these stairs? The room was full of webs and gross but I think we at least cleared it of critters?" Fianna suggests. "We definitely need a breather."
Molo knows about these swarms of spiders from his childhood. They can see in pitch darkness (Blindsight), are hard to squash with weapons (Damage Resistances: Bludgeoning, Piercing, Slashing), are immune to many things that would stop a bigger creature (Condition Immunities: Charmed, Frightened, Grappled, Paralyzed, Petrified, Prone, Restrained, Stunned.) They can pour through tiny openings, climb walls, ceilings, difficult surfaces, and, of course, webs (including upside-down). And as many of you now well know, pack a nasty bite (but are not poisonous.)
The party retreats upstairs to the first web-filled cabin, filled with spider corpses, broken furniture, and sheets of thick webs.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
You take a successful short rest in the upper cabin to catch your breaths and bind your bites, but it's not a particularly relaxing one. You hear constant scurrying under the floors and in the shadows.
Just as you feel ready to continue (and after gaining the benefits of your short rest), however, something alarming happens.
A massive blue-white spider materializes suddenly, from out of nowhere, just behind Fianna. The thing is the size of a polar bear. Stealth: 14
Everyone is surprised. Its fangs are in Fianna before you even see it. Bite Attack vs. Fianna: 18 Hit: 12 piercing damage, and on a hit Fianna must make a DC 11 Constitution saving throw, taking 14 poison damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
During short rest Fianna spent two hit die yo recover some HP: 15 (typed this in before I even saw attack… glad I did!)

Con save: 7 At the end of their test, Fianna was relaying to the others the reports of what Fi’Finella was seeing on her flights around the ship. Just as Fianna started to rise she said “Alrighty everyone, let’s gAARRRrrrrrgh!” As she was bit by the insanely huge spider that appeared behind her!
As the spider shakes her, injects he with poison and then drops her, Fianna is still kicking… barely. It’s proven by her scramble to see what the hell just did that to her.

Fianna “Harumphs!” and stomps her foot at the things disappearance.
“You big scaredy-cat.., spider…. bear things! Whatever! We’ll find you! She calls out, annoyed. Almost simultaneously she casts a 2nd level Cure Wounds on herself for 13 healing…
She them stomps her foot a is huffy, still not feeling at the top of vim and vigor… but best not to waste more spells on it. For now.

Dain offers to stand watch, as the others have looked after him so well and he's actually feeling very well-rested and refreshed now.

Dain surges to his feet, grabs his maul and attacks the strange blue spider.

Dain clobbers the huge new spider with his maul, breaking one of its taloned forelegs. It hisses in a spasm of pain.
Molo, Katernin, and Kelnan may act next.

The big spider attempts to resist the little kobold's pushing. Contesting strength check: 11
...and fails. The spider goes down, with Molo atop it. It is prone. And angry.
Katernin reaches out to Fianna and uses her magic to help heal her wounds.

"A good trick! Please don't devour my friends though!"
The collapsed beast is hard to hit with a kobold scrambling on top, but Kelnan does his best with a Ray of Frost.
Attack: 21 Damage: 1
Kelnan narrowly misses the prone monstrosity with his icy beam.
The thing snaps at Molo.
Bite Attack: 7 Piercing damage: 7 On a hit, Molo must make a DC 11 CON save, taking 24 poison damage on a fail, or half on a success.
Then it vanishes - poof - without a trace. Molo falls to the cabin floor with an awkward clunk. It is gone as mysteriously as it arrived.
Combat is over (for now.)
Fianna “Harumphs!” and stomps her foot at the things disappearance.

Molo keeps his body behind his shield and gets ready to shove the shield in the thing’s mouth when it disappears and he thumps to the deck.
He scrabbles around looking for the beast.
“A worthy opponent!” Molo howls

"What in the Nine Hells just happened?" asks Dain as he stands, feet planted and maul ready, looking about him uneasily.
