Even with a wild throw that bounces off the ceiling first, Molo manages to squash a few grubs with his sling. One of the attacking swarms is down to less than half its original size.

(My initial post went haywire, so that's not surprising. Can you see it now? (Post #494) Would Kelnan not have approached to investigate the body had you known the grubs were aggressive? We can replay that somewhat, if you want.)
The smell of the decaying body is eye-wateringly potent, almost overpowering, as the filthy, squirming swarms of grubs continue to aggressively advance, hopping and jumping blindly like fish in an invisible net.
Everyone scrambles back, away from the foul creatures, including Katernin. Reed is at the back of the group, near the top of the stairs.
The grubs are much slower that each of you, but the room is small, and everyone has been backed up against the wall or retreated partway up the stairs.
Lucky holds the magically-lit torch. He and Fianna are backed up against the south wall, in danger of being cornered, although Lucky is near the secret panel he discovered, barely showing a sliver of light from a room beyond, to the south.
Everyone may act, starting with Lucky, Kelnan and Reed.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The two boiling swarms of wriggling grubs seem to naturally sense Kelnan's incoming blobs of arcane acid, and attempt to dodge it,

Dex Save - Swarm #2: 10
...but neither do. Many individual grubs dissolve into goo. The nearer swarm is down to just a handful of grubs, but the further swarm is still fairly robust.

Fianna will continue to be worried and grossed out by the creatures and will cast another Eldritch Blast Attack: 11 Damage: 10 as she has no area of effect spells...

Wondering what effect his tiny little dagger can have on a swarm of tiny, disgusting grubs, Lucky decides to try and time his actions with those of the little sea captain. He holds still and then rushes in at the same time as Reed does, slashing at the putrid creatures more in hope than expectation.
(Assuming Reed is going to move in and attack, Lucky will move next to the grubs, then Ready his attack until Reed is also engaging the grubs, thus allowing us both to benefit from sneak attack. If Reed doesn't move in, ignore the sneak attack damage)
(DM: Should Reed have got sneak attack as Lucky was next to the grubs? An extra d6 damage?)
(Hmmm. Probably, yes. Had to think that through. Sorry about that. I don't want to rewind this one, as I think you're going to be fine here. Anyone seen our friend @Mattan_Braddus lately?)

Reed and Katernin may go next.

(Yes, Kelnan is not a fan of squiggly gross things in general, but especially when they want to bite him)
The nasty swarms of grubs continue to aggressively advance from the rotting corpse.
Reed and Katernin may act next.

Kelnan
If possible, Kelnan backs up the stairs, then draws a ball of acid from the air and tosses it at both swarms.

A flame-like radiance descends upon the lesser swarm in front of Katernin. The swarm tries to shift to avoid the holy fire.
Dex Save: -1
The depleted swarm is incinerated in the flames. One swarm down.
Fianna fires her crackling purple beam at the other swarm, toasting many of them and leaving only acrid smoke.
Molo mocks the smoking swarm with a piercing rhyme.
Wisdom Save: 0
The swarm takes psychic damage. The grubs are very few now; you've almost exterminated the lot of them.
Still, some of the grubs blindly advance.
Lucky and Reed are up next, then the grubs.
