Nianro, you just snap. Perhaps you had a run in with giant rats before, or perhaps it was the bite that the rat took out of you just a few moments ago... but either way, you're right pissed. You bring the greataxe down onto rat #1, cutting it in half like butter. The pieces of rat jitter about, and blood spurts everywhere. Rat #1 is dead, and then some.
Rat #3 and #4 squeak frantically as they watch this happen and both bolt forward to bite Nianro. They have advantage with their pack tactics, although you are resistant to their damage due to the immense rage going on inside her body.
Attack: 24 Damage: 7
Attack: 14 Damage: 5
Both of the rats are able to grab hold of your upper thighs, and these suckers have BIG teeth. You likely don't feel the pain as much as you normally would since you're raging, but these vermin cause Nianro 6 points of damage. Ouch.
Nianro, Flare and Alea are up! I will process the actions as they come in, no need to follow order in this particular case.
Flare, this time your firebolt doesn't leave any room for life. The mote of fire doesn't travel far, yet has quite the velocity as it slams violently into the rat. An explosion of embers again leaves a black crispy rat-corpse burned into the cellar floor. Rat #4 is dead.
Rat #3 continues to squeak frantically. It knows it's the only one remaining here. Perhaps it will try and flee?
"no kidding. there could be more down here. the quicker we take care of them, the quicker we can get the hell out of here!"
"nianro are you ok? those bites look nasty."
Alea is going to step all the way down the cellar stairs, looking around in the cellar room for more rats and trying to get a sense if anything is in the hallway without actually walking right in.
Dont worry about me. I have had worse in bar fights against even biger "rats" she says while she holds her hands over one of the wounds. her hands emmit a slight glow and the wounds close up a tiny bit. (healing hands for 1 hp)
Alea, you see many barrels and casks of beer along with the workmans tools at the base of the hole in the wall. There seems to be no other giant rats in this cellar. You take a peek into the hallway. Through the hole in the wall you can see a dusty stone corridor, its floor lying around a foot below that of the cellar in which you all stand. Over to the left you can see the start of a staircase buried in collapsed masonry, earth and rubble that block the way. It is completely impassible.
To the right the passage heads around a corner which you cannot see from where you are right now. However, on the far east wall before the corner you can see something glowing on the wall.
Flare, you burst forth into the hallway and over to the glowing object. You see now that it is glowing writing on a plaque in clear gold script, in common. You touch the script, and nothing happens. It reads:
"Death breaks with stirring air, As sun shines down on new day fair."
"Midday blaze bakes earth and grass, The farmer waits for heat to pass."
"Evening cool brings water, wine, Drink and laughter passing time."
"Night sees shining, roaring fire, as wood and coals burn on the pyre"
The passageway continues north and ends with two doorways, one heading left and the other straight on, both closed. In front of the doors is a 20 ft. section of floor covered in a mosaic that depicts a scene (illustrated below). It shows the sun, the sky, a hillside and a river. There are four 5 ft. ‘panels’, each showing the scene at a different time of day.
You also notice two halves of a giant rat cut perfectly across the first panel.
Alea, you take a closer look at the mosaic on the floor. With your passive Perception at 13, along with the dead rat cut clean in half, it's clear that this mosaic is a trap.
Specifically, there is a pressure plate on the first slab of the mosaic which triggers a blade.
So, in order to avoid potentially taking damage, your characters need to avoid that first 5 ft slab when proceeding. All of you will be able to jump over it without a check.
There's a door to the north, and one to the west, both at the other end of the corridor. What is next?

Flare will repeat his last turn
9, Damage: 4
also I figured out the dice roller
(awesome, thanks!)

Nianro and Alea are up!
Alea notices the success of Flare's second firebolt and does the same thing, aiming over Nianros shoulder down onto the rat.
Attack: 16 Damage: 4
Alea, your firebolt passes over Nianro's shoulder and hits the rat directly on target. It also creates a similar explosion of embers and rat matter.
Combat is over. All of the rats are dead, smoldering away on the cellar floor. It doesn't smell the greatest.
What would you like to do?
Flare will sigh in relief “they said rats, not giant one’s!”
"no kidding. there could be more down here. the quicker we take care of them, the quicker we can get the hell out of here!"

“Well we need to find out what that is, so one moment” flare will walk over to the glowing object and touch it
“I don’t care if this is a stupid idea”

What would you like to do?
(+1 to Nianro's HP, got it. I have her now at 5 hp, is that the same you had?)
Depens. Do you round up or down? 5hp if rounded up, 7 if rounded down

You guys still have any interest in plugging away with this?
I am still enjoying this PbP
Alea is still in!
Alea will walk toward the glowing script with Flare "hmmm... make any sense of that writing?"
"another rat... and something seems odd about that picture on the floor."
Alea is going to take a closer look at the mosaic.
“Yeah that stuff on the wall is interesting”
Alea, you take a closer look at the mosaic on the floor. With your passive Perception at 13, along with the dead rat cut clean in half, it's clear that this mosaic is a trap.

“Would could drag a dead giant rat on the pressure plate, just to see what trap it would activate
Flare, you drag one of the charred dead rats from the cellar onto the pressure plate.
THWAP!
It is completely cut in half by a blade which shoots out from the floor and retracts back into the floor.
