"Oh you have no idea." Jullar begins excitedly "There was this one time our boat was attacked by pirates, and there was this whole big battle, and all the ships involved ended up going down in flames. I barely escaped, on a rowboat, only to end up being attacked by sharks while fishing. I was afloat for nearly a week before another vessel came by. They took care of me until we got back to Vinanathi. That's when I found out..." He trails off, looking down. "That's when I found out what had happened. Knurath and all that. It took it's toll on the world, and I was clueless, adrift at sea, hopping from ship to ship without a care." He stares off the side of the boat for a while. "When I got back, Frilis had returned, and he took to caring for me again. He was pretty upset at first when I told him what I had been doing, but being away for all that time, we missed each other. He's been real good to me."

Evi, who everyone had noticed had lost all color as she stepped onto the boat, hurriedly looks for an isolated part of the ship above or below deck in an effort to calm down and regain her composure.
"Little of this, little of that." Jullar says, his expression turning sullen. "Never really settled on anything. Never had a reason to." He chuckles slightly. "Well I did once, but... she doesn't matter anymore." He takes of his backpack and removes an instrument, the same one you saw before, the one that was broken. He begins to play and sing a beautiful tune (wasn't prepared for this like I should've been so I don't know lyrics). When he finishes, he looks up, tears in his eyes. "I wrote that a while ago, for someone special. Haven't played it in a long time..." He trails off.

(OOC - did we or were we taking the carriage and horses with us? Would they have fit on the dilapidated boat? I just realised this point. If we weren't able to take them, Orimdal would have attempted to sell them at the port before they left, if DM is ok with retro-ing that in?)
Orimdal listens for a while then moves over to the captain. "You wouldn't happen to have any carpenter's tools with which to repair your boat? I'm not very good with such tools but perhaps I can help make some repairs while we travel? Idle hands an all."
Tender leans against the side of the boat, staring out at the water. Despite her apprehension about the condition of the ship, she can't help but remain fascinated at the sight of so much water and the way it moves. She turns slightly, though, to listen to Jullar's song, offering a bright smile at him when he finishes it. "That person must have been really special," she says, turning back towards the water. "That was really pretty."
"Thanks." Jullar says. "She really was special. But... well, I won't bore you with the details. Let's just say I'm looking now. She's not the special person I thought she was, but there is a special someone out there for everyone." Jullar smiles. He puts away his instrument. "Well, if you'll excuse me, I think I'm going to turn in a bit early. If anything, I can take a night watch." Jullar says. He then heads below deck.
The captain says to Ormidal "Oh don't worry about that lad. We've gotten this far, right? We'll make it to the other side." He pats you on the shoulder then turns back to focus on the open ocean.
(It can fit on the boat, but the captain would charge you for it. If you wish to sell the horses and the carriage, you can get 110 for all of it.)
(It's nearing noon now, you've been sailing for a few hours. The shoreline of Vinanathi is still in sight, but it is much smaller than it was when you were standing on it. Jullar is back on deck. He looks happier than he was earlier, but every now and then he drifts off to sleep, only to snap back awake seconds later.)
"Hey folks, we need some lunch. I've got some food down below, but if anyone wants," He pauses, and holds up two fishing poles. "We can do some fishing!" Jullar stands and stretches. "I could do some fishing, if anyone else is up for it. I need something to do to keep me awake. Anyone up for it?" He asks.

Evi, who had disappeared below deck since the very beginning of the trip, returns to the top deck. After finding picking a part of the railing that looks relatively secure, she leans against it and stares out vacantly into the distance.
Jullar chuckles. "Don't worry, it's not too hard." He says, handing one of the poles to you. "Just watch me and you'll get it. There'll be a quiz later." He moves to the back of the boat and, with a single, swift motion, tosses the line into the water behind the boat.

Tender watches Jullar's movements carefully and then turns to stare at her own pole. "Okay, that didn't look...too hard," she muses, attempting to follow the motion. The first cast ends up going nowhere. The second hits the side of the boat, making Tender wince and peer over worriedly. The third finally goes in the water and her shoulders slump, relieved.
Evi, snapped out of her reverie at being called, heads over to Jullar and quietly offers to take his pole. With one quick and graceful motion, she throws the line into the water and waits for anything to bite.
"So, Jullar," Kallista says, approaching the man. "Tell me more about your time at sea. It sounds like you've had some interesting adventures."
