@mama chan you cannot take the goblins armour off them without a check, and the verbal components would have woken them. sand is fine tho. if any of you are wearing leather armour that works fine as well.

OOC: Since you said Salvage I assumed it was scrapped from unused armor or pieces of leather. Mamma Chan only needs a scrap and since you had stated it was a storeroom she figured she might be able to come across some.
My attempt was to use mage hand to obtain components and then cast the armor spell. prior to initiative (it's how the post number reads) and then Readying the sand for a sleep spell after
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Ouch! Ouch! get off me you little bastards." I squeal as the goblins start to poke me with their sticks.
Behind them I see old mama doing some sort of jiggery pokery and thud thud the goblins drop to the ground asleep. Then as Kronk goes nuclear on the bars I walk over a pull the lever.
I take a look around the room for our gear? [Perception 16]
well.....that was an interesting combat. maybe we stick to RAW for now. however you do manage to put these two goblins to sleep. tulip, you dont see any of your gear. Kronk, you manage too.....eat pat of a bar, enabling you to escape from the cage.

(OOC - maybe just clarify what you want combat to be like? Are we each taking our turn on our initiative, or is it group initiative? Presently it seems a jumble of both & it's a bit confusing as to who goes where etc. There's a ton of ways to do combat, & I'm happy with anything, but some clear rules will help us I think.)
um regular combat. everyone acts on their turn, then waits for the DM (me) to say what happens. please no assuming that the enemies are neutralized or anything like that.

Kronk mumbles something about impertinent goblins and then checks the goblins for any sort of cutting tools, then looks around for a nice and large bone. Maybe laying around or, if necessary, from the cage.
Mama Chan points at the spears the goblins were carrying "we have spears" she points to the sleeping Goblins "No time for an ethical debate, Kronk dispatch them they would have killed the lass." She points at Tulip.
Mama chan then looks at the others and whispers "I have one more spell of sleep available to me. It would be best if they are bunched up so i can affect as many as I can."
"Snapping necks, Kronk doings loves, heh! heh!" He says quietly as he does so, giving each a quick spin of its head, trying to see how many times they'll spin. "Like those scrawny things, they be whats?" He looks momentarily puzzled. "Yes, oh, chicken!"

your logic makes sense. you spy a leather strap on a box that would do. you can have grabbed it with mage hand.

sounds good.

the goblins lash out at Tulip with the back end of their spears (more like sharp sticks). they seem to want to savour their meal.
goblin 1: attack 18 damage 3
goblin 2: attack 7 damage 4

Mama Chan casts sleep on the two goblins 50
"Now we have spears" Mamma Chan whispers.
(Ooc sleep is 5d8 how did you get 50?) *Edit* Oh you rolled 5d20 lol
its goblin sleep. oh well do it again26
OOC: I'll take half.
Okay, Kronk is really p*!!ed and will get medieval on the bars.
Attack: 24 Damage: 9
Next he will chew on them, correction he will eat them (he's kinda hungry anyway)
Attack: 108 Damage: 1558
OCC As I mentioned, he is angry and hungry :} Okay, maybe the last roll is a bit iffy, but...
