Nodding at the tiefling, Kerric will don the cloak and proceed in front, moving carefully towards the room ahead with his hand near the hilt of his Elven Curved Blade. As he gets close, he looks into the room before entering to see what manner of threats might be there.

Ebele appreciated the gentle nudge in the right direction by X and would continue to follow Kerric’s lead. Still sporting her cloak inside out and possibly backwards, the monk would pause anytime there was discussion to listen to or decisions to be had. Taking the turn to the north she’d continue with her elven escort down the long hallways. Her nose would wrinkle as the smell of rotting flesh would hit her senses. Death was near.
At this point Ebele’s more carefree manner would stiffen as she’d shift into an attentive stance. Her ears twitched, straining to listen for any new or faint sounds that could be coming from the next room. The monk would hold her position unless otherwise directed.
Moving forward the smell gets stronger The tunnel opens into a square room that reeks of decaying flesh. Three human corpses, reduced to little more than bloody bone and sinew, are sprawled in the room’s center. Two oversized rats root among the bodies, stopping to chew flesh they’ve pulled free. Scuttling noises come from narrow crevices in the walls.
T'chal'fronack'zcinicker, his hand already at his loaded hand crossbow sees the rats past Kerric and Ebele and raises the crossbow to fire without a second thought.

Reghys hated every bit of their evening's sojourn into the nearby underground. After knocking the stones loose, they were terrified of giving the party away with the light and spent most of the trip here hiding the light with the sleeve of their tunic... with predictable results for stumbling over things. Sometimes Reghys was very glad that they were a satyr, since it meant that they were spared the scurge of stubbing toes on rocks... Still, Reghys was terrified for much of the trip, and with T's prattling on was sure that any nearby enemies would hear them. They were aghast at Ebele's courage, to try and deceive the cultists. The fear had only grown stronger with the smell of decaying flesh, but then, actually faced with the vermin... it sort of disappeared, all the tension relieved.
Reghys couldn't help but start laughing. A little at first, merely a chuckle, but then it soon turned hysterical. Here they were, nearly soiling themselves from fear, and for what? A bunch of rats? Oh, the fates certainly seemed to have a sense of humour. Well, whatever it was, they were back to their senses and determined to show everyone the best that this satyr could do.

Ebele's head would tilt to the side in curiosity as she'd hear one shot fired, yet three thumps on the ground as the battle music kicked in. Her brow would raise. "What do we have here..." The monk would reach out to 'feel' around with her staff. She'd eventually jab a chubby furry creature. "Oh! What do we have here?" She'd bend down to 'pet' it.

”Rats!” says the elf, preparing to draw his sword and defend himself, though whether the word is a pejorative or an explanation for Ebele is unclear.
