The shifted druid would tower over the slain bugbear, belting out another loud triumphant roar before settling back down on his hind legs with a grunt. With his spell still active for the time being, it gave them a few seconds to catch their breath. When he feels a gentle hand on his fur, and a quiet apology, his ears lower slightly.

"Whatcha apologizin' for? Not your fault guy had no sense of humor." Hawke comments through a mental link. "n' as much as I like your hands on me, there's no need for the kit. Whatever injuries I get in my human form don't transfer to my shifted form, but you can get me when I shift back." He takes a quick glance over the group. "Looks like Xalkas can use a boost though." He then carefully uses his snoot to nudge the monk towards where Xalkas had been. "Sittin' on one of the pews in that direction."

If/When Ebele made her way over, Hawke would then link up telepathically to Kerric as he adjusted himself back on all fours. "We got two bugbears left outside havin' a lovers quarrel. Don't got much time left on the spell so we gotta do somethin' quick."

Had Kerric have nothing to add through the link, the druid decides to give T'chal his two cents as well. "I'm with Belle on this. We did all the preps only to leave? If we go we run the risk of 'em fortifyin' their defenses more. Probably got our faces and everythin' too..."

Kerric:

Kerric stands guard at the door, listening to the bugbears struggle.  He responds to Hawke, “I’ll dispatch whichever one wins their struggle—or both of the spell fails first.”

The elven warrior takes a deep breath as he paces at the edge of the entangle spell, readied to slice the surviving bugbear to ribbons!

Second Wind:  13

T'chal'fronack'zcinicker nods, feeling better having recovered his crossbow bolts he says, "Alright. I wasn't sure we were feeling up to takin on this whole cult right this second, but if you are all feeling ready and up to it, very well.  Let us proceed." 

He clicks a crossbow bolt into place, then places the crossbow down, and takes a moment to tie a bandage around his wounded upper arm, tightening it with his teeth and a grunt.

Then the crossbow is back in his hands and he glances around, "Alright, front door or back door? Front I think?"  He sneaks towards the western door and peeks through a window, expecting to see a huge force of crazed cultists assembling in the yard outside.

"Right. Okay. That's right..." Feeling his snoot, Ebele would rest her hand on it, petting with her fingers as she'd nod along in response to Hawke. "Yes. Right!" She'd follow his direction and quickly find Xalkas within the pew.

Taking a seat next to him, the blonde would reach her hands out to feel for his wounds. "This is where I chastise you to make sure you have your potions on hand." Ebele would smirk as she'd do her best to tend to them, but by the time she got to Xalkas, he had taken care of the worst of it.

Healing: 5 + additional HP equal to Xalkas' max number of Hit Dice.

After collecting his bolts, T'chal'fronack'zcinicker takes a look to find everything clear.

While he scouts Kerric mulls over the body count within the room. The warrior's experience gives him the feeling that, including the bugbears, they very well may be close to clearing out the courtyard and North Eastern tower guards. If they stick to the North side, they could continue with minimal chances of running into unnecessary guards. With Hawke able to confirm that the North West tower is much larger than the others, Kerric could conclude that it must be the Great Hall of the Keep.

The Argent Alliance takes a collective breather within the confines of the chapel.

Kerric:

Watching the bugbears struggle, Kerric says, “Now is our chance if we want to leave while they still struggle with the vines—we take the chance of them attacking us from behind, but they seem uninterested in us for the moment.”

Kerric hesitates, looking toward the western door and saying, “We might make the main hall cleanly if we stay to the north.”  For the moment, he stays between the bugbears and the others, ready to defend (taking the dodge action).

Xalkas continues to watch the fighting bugbears with a bemused look on his face. 

T'chal'fronack'zcinicker watches the exchange in surprise after checking out the northern passage.  He turns back to Kerric, "I mean, leave where? Back to the ship? I think I agree with they others, we're here, lets see what we can make of it." 

He accidentally on purpose shoots a bolt at B2.  Attack: 19 Damage: 7

"Oh, snap, oops.  I hope.....I hope he's ok." 

Bear Hawke had settled himself in a spot where he could watch the bugbears duke it out, ready to, once one of them had been victorious in their battle, drop the entangle spell so it would be easier for them to traverse and finish off the survivor. He puts a paw over his mouth, 'gasping' at T'chal's totally not-on-purpose shot on the weaker looking one.

With no other words to exchange, Ebele would leave the pew where she had sat with Xalkas. With T'chal'fronack'zcinicker moving about the room to adjust his position by the door, she’d hear him fire off a shot through it once he cracks it open. She’d follow the sound with the intention of launching a dart through the opening while the tiefling conveniently had it propped open for his accidental shot, which the Bugbears took to the knee.

Kerric holds a defensive stance while Ebele‘s dart strikes true, taking down the bugbear.

With a loud roar, the remaining Bugbear tries to break free.

Finally, the furry ‘purse’ slinger breaks free from the vines. With a snarl it begins stomping its way towards the church and in through the doorway to greet the Tiefling.

With the bugbear finally able to break free from the vines, Hawke drops concentration on the spell itself, and what ever remaining vines that had grown across the entrance, now wilted and withered away. The druid then trudges over to where the bugbear had been stomping, hoping to weaken it before it's able to do any serious damage to the tiefling!

T'chal'fronack'zcinicker’s trepidation broke his usually suave facade, causing his bolt to fire wide in his haste.

Hawke snaps at the Bugbear, but gets nothing but fur. However, his beastly claws indeed find meat, tearing across the length of the mighty ‘purse-weilder’’s chest. And as the bugbear rears back with a howl of pain, Kerric swoops in with an equally as deadly cut from haunch to armpit. Critically injured and gushing blood from his wounds, the foe still stood.

It was then Ebele drew another dart in hopes of ending his advancement on their master negotiator. 

On B2

Also in her haste to toss, the monks dart goes by its intended target, imbedding itself into the door with a loud thud.

Xalkas must have zoned out while watching the bugbear lovers quarrel for he looks up and seems rather shocked that it’s now so close. He quickly throws a fire bolt its direction.

With a deep and low chuckle, eyes fixed on the tiefling. The bugbear lifts his weapon high over his head, and with a full body swing, he brings it down.

Truth be told, Hawke was surprised the bugbear missed, but more thankful than anything else. With less wounds to heal, the faster they could finish this fight and move on. Assuming no more cultists decide to check out the church, of course.

The druid wastes no time in trying to damage the remaining enemy further, hoping that any follow up attack would finish it off!

Kerric:

Moving smoothly into a flanking position with T'chal'fronack'zcinicker,  Kerric slashes at the last Bugbear.

With the combined flurry of strikes coming from two sides, the bugbear could not get away from Hawke's meaty claws or Kerric's swift blade. Their foe collapses at their feet.

All falls silent and the chapel belongs to you.

Kerric:

Taking a deep breath and wiping his blade clean on the fur of the downed bugbear, Kerric says, “Is everyone alright?” As he quickly sifts through the bodies—especially that of the cult priestess, looking for clues or treasure.

 T'chal'fronack'zcinicker points at the bugbears feet just as he's about to strike him, "Oh my, your shoelace is untied."  

The distraction worked as the bugbear missed wildly.....and then T'chal'fronack'zcinicker contractually bound friends finished off the foe. 

He turned, "Let me help you there Kerric, I think you missed that pocket..."  (Help!)
