The Rat Swarm does not seem phased by he small tremor. They seem intent on doing 1 thing, attacking the party. Their squeaks and growls make that apparent as they move forward and flood where the party stands. Each of you are attacked twice

Rictor shakes his leg as one of the rats starts to crawl up the leg of his pants and cries out in pain as it bites him. And then another set of fangs finds purchase and another and another.
"Ow! Hey- geroffme- OW!" He emerges from the swarm a mess of tiny yet deep bites, blood staining his dark clothing even darker in long streaks. He pulls out his pistol and aims at the center mass of the second swarm, but before he pulls the trigger he shouts above the sound of squeaking and scurrying feet.
"Don't fire your guns in here unless you want us all to be deaf and blind - get stuck in!"
Of course he completely ignores his own advice, but he doesn't even pull the trigger of his revolver when he fires. Instead of a deafening report and a discharge of fire and smoke swirling dark energy courses from the barrel of the pistol toward the rats.

Celeste slings her rifle and stifles a scream as she begins to swipe at the myriad rats that swarm over her. One crawls up her leg and starts gnawing on her leathers, "Ugh, get offa me!" Celeste grabs the rat and quickly breaks its neck before tossing it behind her. She then draws her saber and starts trying to cut down the rats as they swarm past.

Two swarms of rats did not stand much of a chance against the party. You find as you swing all of you not only hit but, are able to cleave through more than one rat. After a few short moments you stand in a very large pile of dead and dying rats. The muck is a bit overwhelming but you manage to keep your lunch.
From the darkness of the cavern to the right (where the Goblin retreated and the rats came from) you hear a goblin voice squeal and running footsteps down a yet unrevealed passage in that cavern.
Rictor tries in vain to wipe off the filth from the rats but only manages to smear his blood on his dark clothing. He sighs gratefully as Val heals his wounds and smiles at last, giving him a pat on the back.
"Thanks, I needed that. So, let's take stock of the situation. We can't shoot unless the cave widens out and the goblins know we're coming. Still, we might be able to get the drop on them if we move real quiet and stick to the shadows."
After you stand for a moment the place seems to get quiet again. The only sound is from the drip of water that seems to echo a bit through the cavern. Your torch light seems to play along the cavern wall, dancing with ever slight breeze that comes from the entrance to this place. You still have some light from the doorway you first came through. It only beams so far into the cavern, the light being seen up on the wall over your heads. Occasionally you hear sounds of the cattle. They do not seem in distress nor moving in any direction.
Keth too wipes down his trousers from the blood and rat mess. He did not help all that much in the fight but a rat tail or two were tread upon in assistance. "Apparently, I do not do well with rats. I like the idea of scouting invisibly actually, though I do not wish to waste a valuable resource. I should be able to move ahead quietly, though my feet seem a bit sluggish of late." He again takes out his long knife.
"It does seem that it will be up close fighting, I shall do my best from the lead."
Rictor pats Keth on the shoulder before he leaves and casts Guidance on him. (As long as I keep up my concentration you add a d4 to one ability check of your choice before or after the check is rolled)

Keth nods at everyone with a smile as he fades away into invisibility. Though unseen he still walks with a careful and light tread, his tomahawk and long knife at the ready.
He moves toward where the goblins were seen retreating to.
