We encountered along the way a large patch of strange plants - upon closer inspection, they had each three bulbs of a different color. They were almost 6 feet tall. In the middle of the patch, was a statue. It appeared to be a Chultan king. It was 10 feet tall entangled by vines 4. Treasure lay at the foot of the statue, apparently left there by someone as tribute. 51. Zyn picked it up. Worthless bone jewelry. Suddenly, 3 of the 6 foot tall multi bulbed plants attacked us!!

"I saw some absolutely gorgeous flowers that I needed to sketch, but it looks to me that you all fared rather well without me!" He approaches the statue cautiously then tried to see if he learned anything about this king in prior teachings. He then would look at the dead plants to see if he learned anything about those as well.

UBTAO

Ubtao was the patron deity of Chult. He was also known as The Father of the Dinosaurs, Creator of Chult, Founder of Mezro, and The Deveiver. He stayed distant from both mortals and other deities, and he seemed to be above the daily doings of the world and his followers. This might be partly due to his origin as a primordial, and in fact it was not fully known if he was a deity in the traditional sense. The many jungle spirits worshiped in Chult were all aspects of Ubtao. But due to this he only had power in and around the jungles of Chult.

A central figure in Chult’s history, Ubtao long protected the land and Chultan civilization. But Ubtao grew angry over his worshipers’ endless warring and their reliance on him to solve all their problems. More than a century ago, Ubtao simply abandoned Chult, and his influence hasn’t been felt there since that day. When he left, the Chultans suffered a crippling spiritual blow, but eventually the disunited, warring tribes learned to put aside their petty conflicts and unite as one people. To this day, the dinosaurs of Chult are still revered as Ubtao’s sacred children by many Chultans, even though Ubtao himself is no longer popular.

TRI-FLOWER FROND

When fully grown, a tri-flower frond stands 6 to 7 feet tall. It has three bright, trumpet-shaped flowers, each as large as a human head and each one a different color: intense red, vivid orange, and bright yellow. Each flower can harm a creature in a different terrible way.

Kitsune kneels down and inspects the hacked up flower fronds (Nature: 19).  Can any remnants of the flower (juice, pulp, etc.) be saved and used as poison for our weapons?
