"And what quest would you be on?" Orvex asks.

Kitsune replies “We seek them Soulmonger...”

“Then our goals align. I was part of a Thayan team to recover the cubes to be allowed to access the Tomb of the Nine Gods. We believe the Soulmonger is there. You need the nine cubes of the trickster gods here in Omu, each one has a temple here.”

"Do ya know where those temples are?"

“I do indeed. Since I have no more teammates, maybe I could perhaps join you all and help you, since we have the same goal it seems.”

Kitsune is intrigued by Orvex, and is excited to have him join their team, looking forward to the advice that he can offer.

"According to our research, we believe the Soulmonger is held here beneath the city in the Tomb of the Nine Gods. To gain entrance, we'll need to find the nine puzzle cubes from the shrines located somewhere here in Omu. There is a shrine for each of the Trickster Gods of Omu. Once all have been collected, only then will entrance to the Tomb be granted. We must be very careful. The yuan-ti and their leader, someone named Ras Nsi, - is a dangerous individual indeed. We were here searching the ruins when at night they ambushed and killed us."

As you return to the main road, you notice Omu is densely packed with ruined villas and overgrown courtyards. Buildings are shaped from limestone. Thick, broad-leaved vines engulf most structures, while ferns and thorny bushes choke the streets.

"Okay, so we'll need to keep a watch at night," Kira says thoughtfully.

While the party is getting back to the road (and maybe heading to Area3?) Asha touches one of Zyn's sickles and magical energy flows into it. "Now yer sickle should hit a bit harder. I could only get the one, but it'll last all day." (Until the next time Asha takes a long rest, one of Zyn's sickles functions as a Sickle+1)

Astra is sure to note down the information Orvex was giving them as he speaks in his notes. "We can certainly take watches, yes, and I also can set up an alarm system around the perimeter for extra precaution." The wizard adds in.

When they begin to head way to Area3, Astra will hold onto Zyn again, "If you don't want to lead me around while I do this just let me know," He gives a small grin. "I know it can be a bit odd, but it's better to be prepared than to walk in completely blind, yes?"

Again, he will look into Faust's eyes, taking note of where the huge dino may be first before sending the familiar to do a quick fly over the area they headed to next.

Perception: 18

The King of Feathers lumbers slowly down the path towards you guys, but it will be a very long while, you hope, before he reaches you. There is something very odd about this T-rex, as if dinosaurs shouldn't be able to grow that large normally. Even from this distance at the other end of the long road, he looks enormous. 

Zyn felt Astra's hand around her arm. "Of course, I don't mind. I like to help and Faust is very useful. Especially alerting us about that massive dino." she admitted.

"Thank you!" Zyn said to Asha. "That's very nice of you, I appreciate that, you ****." she said, using the word incorrectly. Or, maybe correctly.

That was indeed a kind thing to do!

AREA 3 - KUBAZAN'S SHRINE

A rectangular pool of murky water stretches before this vine-draped shrine. Rope bridges that once spanned the water float on the surface, tangled with other debris. The shards of a toppled monolith form stepping stones to the middle of the pool, where a statue of a stone frog rises above the water.

You start at the bottom of the map. 

"This must be the Shrine of Kuzaban, the froghemoth trickster god." Orvex declares. "My group of Red Wizards did not have a chance to collect any of the puzzle cubes, so let us hope no one has tried as well." 

The pool ahead is 6 feet deep and clouded with mud and algae.

DC 14 Wisdom (Perception) check: ??!??!!?!?

Kitsune casts a wary eye at the pool (DC14 Perception: 10), unsure of who or what a froghemoth trickster god might be.

"Yer welcome Zyn, but **** isn't a word that you use for people ya like."

Zyn slowly nodded in comprehension. “Oh, whoops, then I should probably stop calling you that.” she smirked.

Inside the pool, trying to conceal itself, you see the eyes of, what can only imagine is, a massive toad like creature looking around lazily.

"Oi, there's some giant frog thing tryin' to hide in the water. I suggest that ya stay out of it, so that it doesn't get the chance ta eat ya."

Once he gives his report to the others, he sends Faust back on a high perch to sit and watch the oddly large dino again, just in case. As Asha points out the giant frog in the water, Astra can't help but look over the stepping stones and where they had led. "I wonder if the frog statue has the puzzle in it somewhere? The chest cavity maybe...?" He inquires. "I'm not the most balanced fellow, but perhaps Zyn or Kira would like to give it a go to get a closer look?"

Kira gives a wicked grin. "I'm on it." She slips a bit closer to the pool. "First, though..." She squints and points at a spot behind the toad, and it suddenly feels an invisible hand tap its back. "Let's see how violent this friend is."

The froghemoth emerges from the pool, lashing out violently with it's tentacles. It's truly large and dangerous. Getting close to it would certainly mean death. Once it realizes nothing is there, it slowly submerges back into the pool.

Zyn turns to Kira and Asha. "Unfriendly." she confirms confidently.
