Asha comes back upstairs, as it seems that most of the party has settled on Qawasha as a guide. "Oi, do ya have a Staff of Healin'? It won't be much of a journey if I run out of spells to heal with." She says, interrupting Zyn's inquiry.

QAWASHA AND KUPALUE
Qawasha, a druid, is a member of the Emerald Enclave based in Fort Beluarian. The druid travels with a vegepygmy companion named Kupalué, or "Weed", a Chultan word that means “walking weed.” Qawasha often refers to his companion simply as Weed. They communicate with each other using their own unique sign language.
THE DISCOUNT
Qawasha would like to rid the jungle of its undead menace, so he will deliberately lead you all through undead-infested regions and take you to Fort Beluarian if you chose him as a guide. As he travels through the jungle, Qawasha knows and will call out the names of unusual flora and fauna around him. He recommends that you also purchase a charter of exploration before leaving Fort Beluarian (side quests). Qawasha has witnessed firsthand the Flaming Fist’s mistreatment of adventurers who explore Chult without the requisite paperwork. If you allow this, he will charge 4gp a day.
Qawasha stands 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds. Weed stands 3 feet tall and weighs about 30 pounds dry.
Zyn followed the group with the new guide and weed in tow as they went shopping for preparations on their jungle trek. She was still deeply lost in contemplation about possible sexual relations that Syndra was hinting at with her grandfather, but snapped out of it upon introducing herself to Weed and Qawasha.
"Hello."she said. "I am Zyn. And..this is..your plant?"
"Yes, my dear. This is Weed."
Weed waved, but did not speak. Zyn smiled and waved back.
"So, I suppose for the reduced fee, you're going to lead us to places with undead and to this..Fort Beluarian?"she asked.
"I will indeed."the Druid promised.
"Well, I guess..that's not..exactly what..well. You don't have any idea where the Soulmonger is, do you?"
"I'm afraid I do not."Qawasha said sadly, Weed shaking his head as well. He looked over Zyn for an uncomfortable moment, Zyn staring back. "How does a drow make it this far from underground?"
"Through martial practice, discipline, and a half human mother."she said, without missing a beat.
Weed made a face like that wasn't the answer it was expecting, but accepted it.
1. Using the poster map, identify the hex in which which all are currently located. 2. Decide what direction you want to go, and whether you plan to move at a normal pace, a fast pace, or a slow pace.(Characters moving at a normal pace can travel 1 hex per day on foot through coastal, jungle, mountain, swamp, or wasteland terrain. They can travel 2 hexes per day if they’re traveling by canoe on a river or lake. If characters move at a fast pace, I will roll a d4. On a roll of 3 or 4, you advance 1 additional hex that day. Characters moving at a fast pace take a –5 penalty to their passive Wisdom (Perception) scores, making you more likely to miss clues and walk into ambushes.) 3. Choose a navigator, then make a Wisdom (Survival) check on the navigator’s behalf to determine if the party becomes lost.(At the start of each new travel day, i'll make a Wisdom (Survival) check on behalf of the navigator. The result of the check determines whether or not you all become lost over the course of the day. The DC of the check is based on the day’s most common terrain: DC 10 for coasts and lakes, or DC 15 for jungles, mountains, rivers, swamps, and wastelands. I'll apply a +5 bonus to the check if you set a slow pace for the day, or a –5 penalty if you are moving at a fast pace. If the check succeeds, the navigator knows exactly where the party is on the players’ map of Chult throughout the day.) 4. Check for random encounters throughout the day. I will do this. 5. At the end of the day, check to see if any of you are dehydrated.(At the end of each day, any character who hasn’t drunk at least 2 gallons of fresh water must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or suffer 1 level of exhaustion. The saving throw is made with disadvantage if the character is wearing medium armor, heavy armor, or heavy clothing. Characters traveling at a fast pace, instead of a normal or slow pace, take a –5 penalty on their saving throws against dehydration.)
Kira thinks hard, then shakes her head. "Think that's good. Unless people want to pick up backup weapons or anything. Oh! It'll be way faster if we cut across the mouth of the river instead of finding a ford, but we'd need a canoe for that..."
Zyn looked at Syndra's magical pile of goodies. She picked an item up.
"I'll take the Beavers..j'Hrgh! I mean..Bracers of Defense."she said, correcting herself. "Can always use more protection." Her eyes looked up at the sky with an annoyed glance. "RIGHT, Grandfather?"
There's no condoms in this day and age, my sweet.
Zyn looked at the camera, and her shoulders slumped. She sighed, her lips flapping in a raspberry. "BpbbtbPBPbp...."
After having decided on their guide, Astra heads back up to get a look through the magical items offered to them for their journey. "What do you think, Faust?" He would ask his familiar, the snake uncoiling herself from around his neck to slither over some of the items. As she paruses for him, the wizard approaches Kira and hands her the map. "I believe you should have this. I wasn't thinking when I took it, haha. It will be much more useful in your hands than mine!"He gives her a grin. "And, ah, before we head out, would you mind showing me where I can send a letter off? I want to send a message to my family."
After receiving her answer, he gives her a thank you, regardless of her accepting or declining, then goes back to the pile. "Now where are you, you sneaky snake..."
Faust pops her head from underneath a cloak. Warm!
"We're going to be in a jungle I don't think I'll need to be warm..." He says, picking up his familiar and the cloak in question. "Ooh... Actually... I may take this..." The young man slips the cloak on with Faust having settled herself on the top of his head."Good choice, Faust!"
When Kira points out needing to take a canoe across the river to cut down on some time, he agrees. "And if anymore money is needed, I'm sure Faust would be willing to help you again."He shoots the gnome a cheeky wink.

DAY: 1 DAYS LEFT: 79 PACE: NORMAL FOOD/WATER: 79
This was it, the genesis of our expedition to find and destroy the Soulmonger. We began our journey to Fort Beluarian which would take us approximately seven days. Since Weed and Qawasha knew the way to the Fort, we didn't get lost, and we had plenty of food and water. It was only a matter of what we might encounter in the jungle.
Today was terribly hot. During the day, we all had a slight sheen of sweat on us and we were uncomfortable. Weed and Qawasha seemed to be the only ones comfortable, or, if they were uncomfortable, they didn't show it. We heard strange noises in the evening, and we knew undead were close, much to Qawasha and Weed's delight. We made camp, had a meal, and kept watches.

Nothing bothered us this day. It was odd, like the jungle was simply watching us.

DAY: 3 DAYS LEFT: 77 PACE: NORMAL FOOD/WATER: 77
As we traveled, Zyn told us stories about her Grandfather and some of the wisdom he taught her as she trained in the Ways of the Kensei. Apparently, her parents and people had died when a massive underground volcano engulfed the Undercity - the underground city where she was born and raised. Qawasha was most interested in her, only because drow were not a common sight on the surface world. We suddenly stopped when we heard noises.

ENCOUNTER! 80
Off in the distance, we saw a small herd of Triceratops noisily grazing with it's young. The mother eyed us suspiciously, but took no immediate action to attack us. Zyn stayed very still, having never seen a dinosaur before.
"Great Undercity.."she breathed. "It's so..large. It's not hostile?"
Asha comes back upstairs, as it seems that most of the party has settled on Qawasha as a guide. "Oi, do ya have a Staff of Healin'? It won't be much of a journey if I run out of spells to heal with." She says, interrupting Zyn's inquiry.
