Lar-Dun peruses the shop, examining the wares but not purchasing anything. "This all reminds me of back home. My old life." he says aloud. Though he speaks the words, he intends for them to be kept to himself.

Arisys confident that the box is not emitting magic itself, will open the box to see what is inside. If it is locked, Arisys will use her lock picks to open it.
"They look like spell scrolls." Arisys says admiring the beauty of the ribbon and paper.
(1. I don't think clerics can use scrolls, right? 2. I have the spell identify prepared, but now that I look at it I would still need to have the pearl worth 100gp to cast it right?)
(1. Clerics can use scrolls, but only ones containing spells that clerics are normally able to cast, if that makes sense. So, for example, you could use a scroll containing Cure Wounds, but not one containing Fireball. They don't have to be spells that you have prepared. If you're unable to use the scroll, it will look like gibberish to you. 2. Yes, you would need the pearl to cast Identify.)
Genken sees the scrolls and thinks back to the tricksters that inspired his current path, "Those might come in handy. Would you be so kind as to allow us to take these with us, Lady Hucrele? In aid of your children, of course," Genken puts a hand to his chest as he addresses Kerowyn in the 'sincerity' of his words.
(OOC - Persuasion if you want it, with advantage due to Forceful Presence: 19)
Kerowyn hesitates, debating. Eventually, she pushes the box towards you. "I don't have much use for them, and I suspect they'll be difficult to sell. We don't have many magic users here. They're yours."
"Thank you very much! That's awfully kind of you." Having gathered everything that she needs for the journey ahead, Arisys will move towards leaving the store.
She will wait until everyone else has finished shopping before saying,
"Do you think we should spend the night here and head out at first light, or head out now?" Arisys asks the group.
"Agreed," Genken says to the others. As he goes to leave, he turns back to Kerowyn and bows, "Thank you again. Hopefully we'll return... with the apple... and news of your kids."
Summer places a gentle hand on Keorwyn's shoulder. "I promise we'll come back with news. We can only pray it's good news." She then follows her comrades outside.

Sister Lidia, Lightfoot Halfling Cleric of Trickery - Hallowed Vale
Assuming you have no other business in town, you follow Garon's directions to reach the Old Road. Road is a generous term - it's more of an overgrown dirt path than anything. You travel on foot for about two hours, passing through abandoned farmlands and groves of massive oak trees. As you crest a small hill, a massive ravine previously obscured by the terrain comes into view. It appears to be about forty feet wide and extends for several miles in either direction. The road runs directly up to it, then turns sharply left and continues along the edge of the chasm.
You continue to approach the ravine, and it comes into clearer view. Near where the road curves, several pale stone pillars are embedded in the earth. Two still stand straight, but most are either leaning over or partially broken off. A sturdy, knotted rope is tied to one of the sloped pillars and descends into the darkness below.
"This has to be Damian's hole then, right?" Ondrej grabs the rope and pulls against the pillar, testing its sturdiness. He claps Lar-Dun on the back as he peers down into the hole. "Ready? It's almost showtime."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Are there any tracks around that would tell us if someone used the rope recently other than our own? Survival? 18
"Since I'm small I can descend the rope first and check things out. I can tug twice on the rope if all is good, and once if I'm in trouble and need help." Arisys suggests to the group after checking to see if the rope had been used recently.
Summer adds a grappling hook to her arsenal as well (half price the dungeoneer pack would be 6gp, and the grappling hook 1 gp)

The box opens easily, and inside you see four thin scrolls, each tightly bound with a black ribbon.
Iris - Tiefling Cleric | Cassandra - Elf Warlock | Solace - Tiefling Monk | Tempest - Hexblood Monk | Lex - Fire Genasi Barbarian
Lilyn - Triton Ranger | Candor - Changeling Bard | Echo - Changeling Warlock/Bard | Rowan - Fairy Wizard
Ondrej stoops down behind Arisys and squints as he peers into the box she's holding. "What are those?" he asks, poking a finger towards the box.

(Looking down, can he see anything of interest? ie. creatures, doors, objects, or trees, since we're looking for a grove?)

The rope holds steady when you tug on it.
Lar-Dun, make a perception check.
