This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
This is a homebrewed campaign based on 5e rules but with a wild west theme.
Applications
Party of 4 to 6
Starting level 3
Stats 4d6 drop the lowest dice; no rerolls on 1s or Standard Array
Limit classes: Artificer, Barbarian, Bard, Cleric, Druid, Fighter, Ranger, or Rogue (if you can sell me a Paladin, Sorcerer, or Wizard I'll buy it but not really fitting in my world scheme)
Limited races; it's a primarily human dominate world. Think elves, gnomes, dwarves, and halfling as Native America groups while other races are considered to be monstrous and will most definitely be seen as pariahs of society *half-human races are outcasts*
Starting equipment or gold; Roll levels with gold for the class to get the gold amount for three levels. EX: Class Starting GP Cleric 5d4 x 10gp would be 18 X 30 = 350 gp
*Guns are considered starting if the PC is proficient*
Two posts a day minimum unless otherwise specified
Roleplaying a must.

Race/Class: Warforged; Clockwork Soul Sorcerer or Transmutation Wizard (if possible) or Renegade Fighter (if you would prefer a non-wizard)
Backstory: The lab assistant of an inventor pioneering Steampunk Weapons, Tora (a human) was given a prosthetic hand at age six, due to an accident from cutting firewood. The enhanced limb soon allowed him to work at much faster speeds than the other assistants, and so Tora asked for more of them. He became popular outside the lab as well - being able to run and lift better than anyone else allowed him to help people and gain the admiration of more than a few of his fellow townspeople. Soon, the only recognizable human part of him was his voice and his mind.
A rival inventor began to grow jealous of the lab's work, vowing to put an end to his competition. It wasn't long before Tora's master and fellow assistants were gunned down. Tora, being nearly all metal, was mistaken for one of the inventor's creations, and was thus ignored. As Tora held the inventor's body in his hands, a paper fell out of his pocket:
Tora,
If I have given this to you, it means my life will soon come to an end. If you have found this, I have unfortunately been killed. There is a piece of equipment buried below the lab. Password: *********. Use it to protect yourself and to continue my life's work.
Upon finding the piece of equipment, he installed it into himself, and felt his body begin to change. His structure modified by some unexplainable technology (a completely new, arcane powered system for wizard or sorcerer, an arm cannon for renegade fighter), his powers growing by the second. His core began to glow brighter... then faded back to normal.
TechSys.EXE online. Begin mission.
Interest in the Campaign: I don't see many games outside of the normal FR universe. A wild-west type game would be a good change of pace.
Dealbreakers for me: Passive-aggressiveness and/or decisions that seem to come out of nowhere on the part of the DM. Lack of participation on the part of fellow players.
Veronica, or V as she is known by her friends and family, was born the daughter of a renown gunsmith Gabriel Delarosa who taught her the intricacy of gunsmithing. When she came of age Veronica decided to leave her father's workshop in order to make expand the influence of the Delarosa name. Now she travels from town to town as a hired gun applying her craft and sending more customers to her father.
Interests: The overall setting is what drew me, its different than many of the other stories going on in the standard high fantasy settings. I am interested in exploring the world you created.
Deal breaker: I would say the only deal breaker I would have would be for someone to try to introduce something vastly different to the setting with no narrative reasoning behind it, such as someone pulling a Gundam out of nowhere in a Forgotten Realms campaign.
Raceclass- Mountain Dwarf Barbarian ( Human if preferred )
Tallinn was the last of his tribe that was eliminated by something that could be to do with this campaign. He has come into town looking for answers to what happened to his tribe.
Why I am interested- I am interested because my favourite things to watch are Wild West movies and I think adding Wild West aspects to dnd would be fun.
What I don’t like- I don’t like the party doing stupid things because one player is refusing to cooperate with the party such as one player just stabbing someone in the middle of a negotiation.
Backstory- Edmund was the only child of two peasant farmers in a small village in the middle of the desert. At the age of 10 Edmund started school in the village school of about 20 students. Edmund excelled at school especially the physical side of things. Edmund loved life but the one thing he yearned for was to leave his village and explore the world.
At the age of 16 Edmund achieved his goal, at the annual village festival he snuck out of the village without his parents noticing. He 'borrowed' a horse and rode away from the village. After 3 hours of riding Edmund realised there wasn't exactly a lot to see in the desert. He decided to turn around and go back home. As he rode back home he saw something strange in the distance he got of the horse and ran towards it. As he got closer he saw that the glow in the distance was a giant fire. The fire surrounded him the heat was extreme. Edmund tried to run through the fire but he burned half his face trying. He cried as the fire surrounded him.
He woke up one week later in a bed made of leaves and moss, he looked around and saw an elven man looking down at him. Welcome to the grove of the wild fire the elf said.
Interest in the campaign- I only ever get to be a DM in my home games so I am looking for my chance to be a player. I also like watching western movies and think a western dnd campaign would be cool.
Things I don’t like- Players being rude and disrespectful to each other, we are all here to have fun.

Fontayne Windbranch - human v - war cleric - soldier
An old army Chaplin with some terrible scars on his face, and on his soul, leaving him less than personable. His hands are still quick with the iron though. He’s seen strange things before, and if they happen again, he’ll be more ready to act.
Backstory: After his parents had died from a plague when he was just five years old, Daekas grew up as an orphan running errants for various dubious organisations. He seemed to be destined to spent the rest of his life as a petty criminal. One night though, after he was left for dead during a job that went terribly wrong, a woman found him and took it upon herself to nurse him back to health. It took Daekas almost three full months to recover completely. During this time he stayed with the woman, who was well past her fifties and owned a rundown ranch well away from the next settlement. She made him the offer to stay there and help her with the ranch in exchange for a save shelter and whatever education she could offer him. The young boy accepted and soon realized that the women, years back, had been an adventurer herself. She tought him everything she knew about the martial arts and dangers waiting away from this secluded haven. Not that the harsh enviornment they inhabited didn't hold enough challanges for them. For years his ascetic life consisted of little more than work and exercise. When his mentor finally passed away shortly after his twenty-third birthday, Daekas decided that it was time to leave this place and find a new purpose in his life.
I mean.... no-one has rolled a gunslinger yet, so I might try that. I am using the CR gunslinger/ firearms.

Flynn Dalton, Human gunslinger.
I grew up in the eastern reaches of the Murelia Steppes. My family had a large piece of land that bordered the vast sea. We had lots of cropland and some plains to raise cattle. I spent my youth working on the ranch as well as tinkering with old recycled junk on the homestead to make new tools. It was an enjoyable life, but when I was only 15 my parents passed away, leaving me the farm.
A few years passed, things fell into place on the ranch and I met a lovely young lady named Julianna, who later became my bride. We had a great life for a few years, but it didn't last long. 5 years ago, a small group of bandits moved into the area and bullied us for half our crop. They bullied others in the area as well, but since none of us were fighters, so we didn't feel like we could do anything about it. There was no law in this area. We all still had enough to make do... Until our crop got infested with a plague that wiped out the majority of our harvest.
When the bandits came for the harvest, we had nothing to give without risking our own supplies for the winter. They killed all of our cattle in response and stole what little we did have from the harvest. They left us nothing to battle the harsh winter. Julianna fell ill pretty quickly in the season, and we had nothing to trade for help. She passed away that winter.
After Julianna's death I tried to rebuild, but I had nothing left. My wife and livelihood were all taken from me.
Since I had nothing left to lose, I put together a crude black powder weapon, grabbed an old rusted sword, and went straight to the bandit's home. I had no expectation to walk out alive, but I wanted to take as many with me as possible before I died.
I took them by surprise while some of them were away. I killed a few before I found the leader of the gang. I wanted nothing more than to make him suffer, but in the end, I couldn't bring myself to do it. So I put a bullet in his head, lit the house on fire, and walked away.
My actions that day ended up helping a lot of people. All of my neighbors offered to help me get back on my feet as a thanks, but the memories of home were too painful to stay. So I set out as a nomad, hoping to help as many people as I could from experiencing the same kind of loss as I did.
A year has passed since I left, I've built up enough funds through doing odd jobs for people that I've finally been able to make myself a proper pistol, purchase some armor, and a few other items. It's time to set out to do some good in this world.
I am already in one of your campaigns, so you know my schedule. However, I am very excited about the puzzles bit. DnD doesn't have enough puzzles.
Some have chosen races or classes I'm not too keen per the application. I will leave recruitment open until end of the day. I will make selections tomorrow.
If everyone could write a bit about why they are interested in the campaign as well as what you do not want to deal with ei deal break content that'd be helpful.
Example for me: I don't put PCs through sexual assault or approve of rude PCs as a characterization its SUPER lame. 'My PC is a dick because reasons' is just lazy story telling and an excuse to not interact with other PCs or NPCs. Cooperative story telling people is KEY.
Going to go with standard. I have only gotten stats that bad when I did the random character generator...
Name: Hammond Yulmnan
Race: Half Elf (If ok.)
Class: Ranger
Background: Outlander
Backstory: Hammond is the child of a famous explorer named Serge Yulman. Serge was known for being somewhat of wild man as he traveled among and lived with the elven, dwarven and halfling tribes for years and years. He seemed to like his life among them more then he did with humans since he had always been an outsider. During one of his expeditions with the elves he met and married the daughter of a wiseman named Z'ress. This was even more surprings as she hailed from the mysterious tribes that fought and hunted orcs for their lands.
For the first years of his life, Hammond went by the name Calanon due to being raised by his mother when his father returned to human lands. Here he learned his skills as a hunter and to navigate in the wilds. His grandfather taught him some of what would be needed to be the next wiseman for their tribe. Unfortunately Hammond showed more skill with a bow then in the spiritual arts of his people.
His first few interactions with full blooded humans were brief but they did not go great due his elven blood. His father helped with this though and taught him the trade of serving as a guide and translator. This is in fact how he first met the group that he would end up traveling with. After a hard fought journey together he left with them to travel the world outside of the elven tribal lands.
I am interested in this due to having played a game with a similar premise that I had a lot of fun with several years ago. Unfortunately I don't recall the name as it only went on for a few sessions. Also I am a fan of westerns since I have many memories of watching John Wayne and others with my grandfather and the addition of D&D makes it all the better.
As for what I don't like the party being murder hobos unless the game is a one shot or is meant to mostly combat oriented. Other then that is simply when people decide to purposely do things to mess with other players to cause trouble or make things difficult for the party, ala being a Leroy Jenkins and running in while others are making a plan. Honestly it just comes down to "Don't be a dick". The game is meant to be fun for everyone.
Some have chosen races or classes I'm not too keen per the application. I will leave recruitment open until end of the day. I will make selections tomorrow.

My interest in the game springs from the Wild West aspect (The Wild, Wild West was (and is) one of my favorite shows, I loved Artemus Gordon's talent with gadgets)
James James the Third
Human Artificer, Gunsmith
James James the Third's father and his father before him, were gunsmiths, and very good at their craft. J3 (a pun on his name) first tasted gunpowder when he was still a suckling and needed no encouragement to follow in his sire and grandsire's footsteps. He made his first gun when he was six, not being allowed to play with fire until then delayed this important rite of passage a bit, otherwise he would have accomplished that feat when he was four. His Masterwork, as he thought of it anyway, was a 'Squeezebore' shotgun especially made to fire three Explosive Seeds encased in a sabot. What a squeeze bore does is allow a slower burning powder to build up pressure when the projectiles forward motion is resisted as the bore diameter decreases; this allows more fragile projectiles, like the seeds, to be fired without coming apart or blowing up in the barrel, as the case might be. He also makes rifles with revolver like magazines; derringer belt buckles (triggered by quickly tensing the abdominal muscles) - this is a very specialized weapon and not suited for everyday wear; walking sticks with spring-loaded blades hidden in them; Explosive Seeds; Tangler Grenades (he is working on a way to fire them from a shotgun type system); and many other small and useful gadgets.
J3's life was just dandy until he fell in love. He would prefer not to discuss the details but, the upshot was he left town, fled would probably be a more accurate description, so as not to see his heartthrob in the arms of another man; he is still bitter about the unfairness of it all, I mean so what if he is short, and tubby, and ugly, and tongue tied around girls.
So, now J3 is footloose and fancy free, sort of, and looking for adventure.
I have watched the last fifteen or so PbM games I was enjoying sputter and die, I find that irritating to say the least. I can understand RL calling a person away, but not telling the other players...well that is uncouth.
The other peeve is teams that do not play as teams, DM's are part of the team, they just advocate for the bad guys and gals a lot. Co-ordination via an effective OCC thread solves this kind of problem in a relative painless fashion.
I've made my selections. Thank you for your submissions. If anyone not selected this time would like a marker for someone who drops out or doesn't work out spend my a PM.
Thank you.

The other peeve is teams that do not play as teams, DM's are part of the team, they just advocate for the bad guys and gals a lot. Co-ordination via an effective OCC thread solves this kind of problem in a relative painless fashion.
