The pair of gnomes raise their chin a little at the pair addressing them, but would eventually relax.
Castor neatly tucked himself at Kaemgen’s side while Pollux would first get a little confused, tucking himself between the man’s legs before circling around and sitting on his feet. While Neither stared forward respectfully, instead their dopey faces just stared up at Kaemgen.
The Kings showed no issues with waiting for Kaemgen’s ‘better half’ to waltz in and save him. They listened without panic and appeared to have taken Auric’s word for it. Leaning in to each other, they would whisper and exchange words in gnomish before standing. Stepping forward they’d address the group. “And you all are?”
”Our intrepid company has not, as of yet, determined a group name, though we are united in purpose to protect Phandalin and its environs. I, personally, am known as Auric, the golden Dragonborn,” responds Auric, indicating his other companions should introduce themselves.

Mr.Dark enters the room, then his spine finds the back wall of the room and he leans casually against it, waiting for the talkers to do their thing. He picks at one of his nails that seems to have broken, chewing a shard off the top where it's jutting out...spitting the fragment onto the floor as he attempts to smooth the nail out by picking at it some more.

"Oh yes, names... Well these two here are Castor and Pollux... Or, err, Pollux and... Wait, that one is..." Kaemgen grumbles as the two seem to refuse to be properly introduced, changing positions and hiding behind one another and Kaemgen himself and the like whenever Kaemgen tries to name either one of them. "Well you get the picture, I'm sure."
"As for myself, I am Kaemgen of house McScáth," Kaemgen says with a proper bow. "Our holdings are small and a bit far to the north and east of here, it is an honor to stand before you in your court, sires."
Scott stays outside the throne room. Feeling himself as though he isn’t in a presentable state to introduce himself to royalty. He stands watch outside the entrance the rest of the group just went through. (Lighting a torch if needed)
”Townmaster Harbin set us upon a quest to negotiate with thee receipt of a wondrous device capable of slaying the evil dragon plaguing the countryside,”continues Auric.
”Finding thee beset by malignant shapechangers, we have endeavored to provide what aid we may, though the battle ended in a rather abrupt conflagration,” he adds.
Both Kings would nod in acknowledgement to those who took the time to introduce themselves, even the wild beasts. Their eyes would follow the one introduced as Pollux. His ear had perked to the sound of Mr. Dark's fingernail hit the floor. Immediately snapping to look behind him, the wolf would follow his nose towards the man at the back wall. He'd lick the fragment up off the floor, then sit proudly at Mr. Dark's feet with his tail wagging like a good boy.
The gnomes brow would pop, then their attention would return to Kaemgen as he finished his introduction. But as he had promised earlier, one of his companions were much better spoken. Upon a nod of greeting to the topaz dragon born, their attention would return to Auric. The Kings appeared impressed by the golden dragonborn's way of speech and cutting to the chase.
Upon the mention of shapechangers one of the Kings immediately tensed while the other would reach out to place a reassuring hand on the others forearm. Both would inhale deep breaths and correct their posture to hear the rest of what Auric had to share. "I am King Gnerkli." The calm king speaks first. "And this is my husband King Korboz." He'd introduce the tense King. "I must say we are surprised to hear there were more of those foul shapechangers within our home." He'd give his partner's arm a squeeze of assurance. "In the same breath, we are relieved to hear that you eradicated the threats upon your discovery."
"How are we sure there aren't any others?" King Korboz would question firmly.
"That is a fair question." Gnerkli would agree. "Let us address the other matters first." He'd insist to Korboz before addressing those before them once more. "As for the Townmaster's request, although we have already given one group a wounderous device to assist with the slaying of the evil dragon, I believe it is only fair that we honour your request."
"They blew up our storage." Korboz would remind.
"Correct. There is a loss there." Gnerkli would nod. "But if I'm not mistaken, Miss Joybell here has been requesting an expansion." He'd look to their master brewer. Joybell was ruffling Castor's ears and squishing his face as she'd boop her forehead against his. She'd let go of the wolf to smile and nod wildly at her King. "I believe there is opportunity here." Gnerkli would gesture, hoping he could continue his thoughts out loud without much more interruptions.
"Gnomengarde is blessed with inventors who happen to have spare devices, that we know they won't even miss," He'd side glance, "Instead of collecting dust, these devices can become a part of something bigger. Therefore," Lifting his hand, Gnerkli would call upon a spectral hand, it would disappear behind his throne. After a few clicks, it'd activate a mechanism that would reveal a secret compartment. The hand would reach in, pulling out a hat of wizardry, "Please accept this item for the completion of the Townmaster's request." It'd float over to present the hat to Auric.
"As for the Storage Incident," Gnerkli would continue, "I believe you should be recognized for your efforts of eliminating those shapechangers." He'd nod, recalling his mage hand once Auric accepted the hat so that he could retrieve another item. "You've saved us from certain madness." Soon after, he'd present them with a wand of pyrotechnics.
Korboz would start to grumble, but Gnerkli would continue. "As for the concern of additional threats and our now collapsed storage room," He'd scan the group. "We'd be willing to offer your group additional treasures for your services:" The King would pause for a moment to hold up a finger. "Complete a thorough scout of our quarters to confirm that we are clear of the Shapeshifters for good." He'd hold up a second finger. "Assist our engineer Facktoré here," He'd then gesture to her, "Clear out the rubble for preparation of our storage facilities."
Mr.Dark frowns as the wolf licks the floor where he'd spat his bit of nail. To the wolf he adds quietly, "Yes, yes, you've done a great service. But. Gross."
He raises an eyebrow as the last part of the kings request is made. He glances to Auric, expecting, but hoping against the dragonkin's probable response, but waits for it all the same.

(Assuming Scott can hear what’s being said inside)
Scott stows his weapons finally. Getting ready to help the person that shot him clean up the store room they exploded. Because surely that would be Auric’s response… right?
Pollux's head tilts in confusion for a moment. He the gross one? Then perked up again all the same with his dopey face and wagging tail thumping against the ground.
“Pollux!” Kaemgen whisper hisses as a scolding. “I think he was going to eat that later! Don’t be so greedy…”
After the kings make their offer Kaemgen turns to Auric and says “I suppose we could poke everything with a dagger… how else can we tell?”
As for the physical labor, Kaemgen never shied away from that. “We do need to deliver the device to help against the dragon… and other missions… but we could spare some time?”
"Thou art most generous, King Gnerkli," responds Auric, graciously accepting the gifts. Looking to his companions for confirmation, he adds, "My companions and I would be pleased to assist thee in both thine quests."
"We were uncertain, as well, of the number of shapeshifters and their origin. Should we eradicate their infestation but not determine their origin, more could infiltrate thy domain. Additionally, if the creatures can resist a "Dagger Poke" as my illustrious companion suggests, we may not flush out all of the shapeshifters. Doest thy majesties have any suggestions?" he requests.

Pollux would mutter grumble and chuff at Kaemgen's chastising. He'd hold his head low and return to the man's feet while the King's made their offer. The wolf would eventually get bored of all the people talking, turning their snout up to sniff around for more interesting things. Catching whiff of something, he'd sniff along Kaemgen's clothes, poking his nose around the moment the man was talking about poking things with daggers.
As Auric continued, without any concern for what else was going on, Pollux would keep going. He'd hop up a little to get up higher on McScáth. There was audible huffing as the wolf naturally followed the scent on his gear. "ACHFFT." The wolf would sneeze near Kaemgen's collar on his way from his armpit before going back down his arm and nuzzling into his hand. He could feel Pollux's cold wet snout continue on it's mission just before lapping the length of his palm.
"Doest thy majesties have any suggestions?" Auric requests.

Pollux nipped down onto Kaemgen's hand, holding onto and gnawing gently on it.

The hunch that the wolves may have a nose for the Shapeshifters come back to the forefront of your mind while you watch Pollux fixate on a scent. You're even more convinced when you realize that he was conveniently following the creatures blood spatter on Kaemgen during the discussion, giving you the epiphany moment of confirmation when he nips down on his hand the moment Auric asks the King's for a suggestion.
After a pause for reaction, Gnerkli would chuckle to himself. He'd smile and give nod to the golden Dragonborn. "I believe you adventurer's have the solution at your fingertips." He'd wink.
"As for clearing of the chamber, I trust our engineer can be of assistance in making the task less daunting." The Kingly gnome would look to Facktoré.
"They better not break my fleet with their big butts..." Facktoré would mutter to herself before batting her eyelashes and giving the King's her most sweetest of smiles. "Mmhmm!"
The pair of gnomes raise their chin a little at the pair addressing them, but would eventually relax.
