Kaemgen can be as stubborn as any pigheaded cow and isn’t afraid to tell her that! Kaemgen curses, insults and threatens her, all while continuing to try and push and shove her down the stairs. But also there to steady her, he does want this done safely!
He will pause his more aggressive or insulting comments while Auric tries his thing.. He’s stubborn but also getting tired of this oversized mule!
((I actually thought we gave stones back? Huh… But don’t want to continually send wolves back and forth when they’re so helpful, unless an emergency…))
Mr.Dark stands back, seeing Auric trying the "carrot" instead of the "stick", and puts his hands on his hips with a huff, seeing if it will work on the stubborn animal. Momentarily, Mr.Dark has a disassociated reality moment and wonders if the cow is real or just some manifestation of his own personality. He shakes his head to clear it from the odd thought and looks on.

Scott stands near the base of the stairs looking on at the whole affair with a bemused look on his face. Hopefully standing in such a way that he won’t get slid into when/if the cow goes sliding down the stairs.
Petunia perks when Auric dangles a little fresh grass for her. Her tail wags. Then with a simple step of her hoof she tilts the mattress forward and it begins to slide. Thump thump thump thump thump thump thump thumthumpthump… The cow surfs the bed mattress down the stairs. Reaching the bottom, she trots off with a little skip, turning her nose up as she passes Mr. Dark. With an enthusiastic moo, she nuzzles into Auric’s palm for the grass. She was famished, considering she was never fed.

"Castor! Pollux!" Kaemgen calls out as he steps outside in looks out over the fields. He then lets out a loud, long, sharp whistle to try to summon them...
"Totally need to spend some time with them training one another," he tells himself as he steps out and begins looking.
Perception: 19
"C'mon! We're starting to pack up," he calls out and pulls out one of the chew toys he bought back in Phandalin to try to tempt them...
Hearing Kaemgen call for Castor and Pollux and the mention of training them Scott makes his way in that direction. When the wolves show up he takes a bit of fur from each of them. Not pulling it off them mind you, but gathering a bit of whatever they have shed recently. And wraps it in the silk cloth he grabbed earlier. He does his best to assist Kaemgen with whatever training he has planned using beast bond.
(OOC I figure two castings of the spell so each wolf gets ten minutes of training.)
Kaemgen’s sharp whistle echoes through the field. A few pigs scattered across the land lift their head. Not to mention, a suspicious furry beast stops short of chomping down on the rump of one of them. Pollux. His body language would deflate and he’d let out some whining complaints when he’d get called back. Though, the moment he’d spot a new toy, he’d bolt towards the man. Pollux charges him in his excitement.
Castor on the other hand, was no where within Kaemgen’s senses. Not even a rustle was heard in response to his call.
When Scott would arrive, Pollux’s eyes would look unsure, bouncing between him and Kaemgen.
Kaemgen is crouched down and scruffing up Castor's fur. "Good boy... yes, you're a good boy! Coming right when called like that, you so smart!" Kaemgen is saying in a high, happy voice as Scott arrives.
Looking up, Kaemgen turns his attention to Mr. Marblebeard. "Just trying to gather the troops, as it were..."
"Can you find Pollux? Can you? Find Pollux! Go, find Pollux!" Kaemgen says, interrupting himself and wondering if Castor can indeed find his brother, or if both will end up lost. Not knowing why Scott had approached Kaemgen assumed it was to talk to him or just lack of anything else, he had no reason to think he was looking to "communicate" with the wolves. (Still, there's plenty of time for him to cast before Kaemgen encourages Castor to go find...)
"Sometimes I think there's smarter than me," Kaemgen tells Scott. "Others I wonder if they're smarter than dirt... Though I suppose that could say more about me than them, eh?"
“Understandable. Though I’m less sure if they’ve joined us, or have been sent to keep tabs on us.” Scott broods for a moment on the implications of the latter before continuing. “I may have a way to increase their effectiveness In combat should they continue to accompany us in the future.”
Scott approaches Castor and pets the magnificent animal. Taking the opportunity to grab some hair from the beast and wrap it in the silk cloth. Then repeats in his mind Kaemgens words. “Go find Pollux (appropriate pronoun here, I can’t remember it. Sorry)”
The wolf ate up all the praise. He was a good boy. A smart boy. Yes he was! And while the pair of men exchange conversation they’d be met with the signature dopey look. Big puppy eyes with his tongue hanging out of his mouth, he sat staring up at them, tail swooshing in the grass. The excitement was only magnified when Kaemgen would command him. The wolf would bounce and twirl, repeatedly. He’d pounce at the men’s feet in a vibrant display of enthusiasm. He is here! He’s a good boy. He found himself, just like he’s being asked. He’s a very good boy. A smart boy. He’s here, he’s here! The furry companion continued to jump and spin, making sure his presence was known. He’d even lick up some dirt when Kaemgen would say it. Because he was a good boy. The smartest boy!
For it was Pollux who Kaemgen had found, not Castor. He had mixed them up.
Kaemgen laughs, drops to his knees and scruffs up Pollux and praises them some more! "I am the stupid one, aren't I? Yes I am! Pollux is definitely the brains of the operation, aren't you? Aren't you? And what sharp teeth! Of course you are Pollux...."
Kaemgen pauses in the roughhousing just long enough to look at Mr. Marblebeard and give a dopey smile of his own. "I was hit in the head yesterday and nearly died," he explained. "Whatever you're up to perhaps it'll work if we use the right names? P'raps send Pollux here after Castor?"
"'Cause you're the tricksy one, aren't you? Finding yourself and not correcting me, just eating up all the pets and praise... very tricksy! Very good..."

Pollux milked every drop of praise and attention. He wasn’t quiet about it either. He happily played and rough housed, not shy about showing off his shiny teefs. The wolf enjoyed the distraction, obviously not in a huge rush to go searching for his brother. That’d mean sharing. But on the other hand, Castor should be made aware that he, Pollux, is the brains. See! Even Kaemgen said it. The smartest boy.
Eventually, with a little pep in his step, Pollux trots off to go looking for his brother.
Kaemgen and Scott go looking with Pollux and thus provide help in their search for Castor, giving them advantage? (Kaemgen would need roll a nat 20 to match that DC, and Scott needs to stay within visual anyway for the spell?)
Smiling at the farmer now that his prized cow is safe and sound and in a pasture, Auric helps where he can and prepares to leave -- most likely to head back to Phandalin.

Mr.Dark makes a wry face as the cow shuns him. He sighs and turns to Big Al. "Well....I'm glad we were able to offer assistance. We did let one Orc go, but....I think we scared the life out of him so he shouldn't be back. Now...we've done what we can here but need to head back to Phandalin." He stands on the porch of the farmhouse. Even with the scent of ash and smoke still in the air, and the unsightly remains of the charred barn, the view here is fantastic. He glances about as a brisk wind sends the grass in the fields undulating like an ocean shoreline. The sweet smell of the countryside, mixed with a slight acrid smoke is still quite pleasant. He wonders if one day he could retire to his own farm like this. With one more deep breath he looks to the group, then a hesitant look to the sky. Perhaps. But not today.
He watches as Kaemgen and Scott can be seen poking around the edge of the wood past the fields. He sits down on the stairs of the porch and waits for them to return and be ready to go.

After enjoying her fill of grass, 'Daisy' saunters over. Taking her time, she turns in a circle before laying herself down. Although there was plenty of room on the porch, she'd help herself to practically laying on Mr. Dark as he gazed out over the farm. And not too long after he'd come to notice a freshly slain pig at the base of the steps. On his other side sat Castor with blood stained jaws. The wolf must have been there for at least a few minutes watching at the man's side. Castor would exchange a look with Mr. Dark. He'd go back to watching Kaemgen, Scott and Pollux search for him.
