Thorvin, you run down as far as you can towards Alton and the spider... and then see Alton whiz by you with both of his blades flashing in the air. He leaps gracefully off that bookshelf and comes down with the two blades, both penetrating deep into the creatures abdomen. Green liquid comes out in buckets when you retract the blades from it. (-7hp)
((Venovar, you should be able to move around the front of the desk and through the difficult terrain to one square south of where the wizard was standing with 30 ft of movement and be within 10 ft of the spider. I'm sorry, I was just going off the numbers, I wasn't looking at the map when I commented before... you'd not be moving THROUGH 5 squares of difficult terrain... since it's only a 20 ft square. My bad. Apologies!))
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
I don't think you are able to dashand make an attack in the same turn.
However, I believe even with the difficult terrain, Venovar is able to move down to within 10 feet of the spider without the dash. (Spiderwrangler is right about the difficult terrain, basically 1 ft in difficult terrain costs 2 feet of movement)
That being said, the attack wouldn't be at advantage. The spider isn't really cornered, and personally I hate the 'flank' rule. Besides, in this case Alton isn't really on the opposite side of the spider anyways. Venovar you thrust your halberd forward again, but from the distance you're at, it goes wide and takes out a few cobwebs.
How do you all feel about flanking for future? Like I said, I don't like it, but happy to use it if it makes sense in the battle. If the PC's start to use flank though, so will the enemies.
On to the spider. It is still reeling from the two short sword stab wounds, and still very angry. It raises a few of its front legs and exposes its huge fangs to Alton. The fangs in a split moment dart toward the halfling as the spider attempts to bite deep into Alton as a retaliation: Attack: 19 Damage: 10
... the fangs arc just past Alton's body and drive hard into the stone floor, the spider immediately recoiling, seemingly annoyed to hell that it missed.
Gotur is up! (and then the rest of you can all also queue up your next round moves which will be after Gotur)

Gotur, you move ahead alongside Thorvin and shoot out your thorny vine, which flails wildly about, missing the spider by a good foot.
Thorvin, you move up and create the magical noises of death once again... 6 and this time, the spider reacts quite differently. It seems to dislike the death bell noises immensely, and its outer shell starts to smolder a bit. It makes some high pitched noises as well. (-9 hp)
Alton, you see the spider off guard and proceed to drive both of your swords deep into its abdomen once again. The green ooze expels itself from the spider quite rapidly as it makes a loud hissing sound and the a 'crunch'... as the second sword severs the creatures spine. (spider dead)
Venovar pulls back his halberd at the last moment after he sees Alton finish off the beast with his two blades.
Combat is over. The smashed bones of the skeleton wizard lay on the ground, along with the giant spider corpse which is leaking green ooze. There are a few candles lit in the room. There is a wooden door to the west, and also the unopened door to the north back in the mosaic hallway.
Gotur, you get a good look at all of the bones strewn about. Venovar's halberd sternum-smash really created a good amount of bone dust, and the pull into the desk by your thorn just took the skeleton right apart. You don't really find anything of interest on the skeleton itself other than that red robe and hat.
Thorvin, the book in front of the skeleton seems to be rotted away beyond recognition. Some small bugs come out of it when you look at it closely.
Alton, your torch is still lit, and you grab it no problem. You look around the room. Years of waste, rot and the cobwebs have rendered most of the books, furniture and equipment completely unusable. However, you notice that one of the books seems strangely undamaged. It looks like a spell book of some sort, but you're not sure.
Alton will now dash forward with both Shortswords drawn, attacking the giant spider.

Venovar is up!
Venovar will move 5 squares down(tell me if I'm wrong bc I'm bad at calculating difficult terrain) and use his halberd at reach to attack the spider.

Anyone can make an arcana check on the book if it’s shown to the whole party that is.
