V lets out an exacerbated sigh, after the long ride all she wanted was to sit, enjoy a nice glass of spirits, then go from there. She gives the bartender a dirty look, "I still want those four glasses of whiskey, actually if its on his tab make it six." V the gets up from the stool and follows Tallinn to the table as she sits down she looks at Tallinn, "Drinks are coming, least they better be." V turns back to the bartender and watches to see what shelf he pulls the whiskey from.
Hammond simply gives the bartender a blank stare as if the man was not even there, turning to Silas and nodding as he goes to the nearest table. He does not even bother to look at the human patrons as he pulls a chair and sits down, moving to reveal his pointed ears and the clearly elven equipment over some of his attire. "Silas I think that it would be prudent for is to speak elvish if you know it. That way if we wish to keep things private we may do so."
Tallinn hands V 2 gold and says “thanks for the whiskey V”.Tallin sits back in his seat and listens to what any has to say. Tallinn also try’s to listen to people on other tables.
OOC: I don't unusual accept dice rolls with the manipulated header. This will be it. All others I require rerolls.
The bartender full belly laughs at the dwarf waving his words off. Tallinn doesn't notice anyone in any hurry to serve them.
V notices a girl at the bar but doesn't see where the whiskey came from but she's pouring out drinks.
Looking to Silas Hammond can see the young farmer is nervous.
"I don't rightly speak it Mr. Hammond but these people can hear what we've got to say. The group who killed our sheriff are hold up in the jailhouse. They're playing court as if they were the new barons in the area. Now we have to pay them tithes or they attack us. They're claiming they're protecting us from whatever is in the hills that drove off the wildlife and the tribes. It then killed our livestock and drove those bastard into the jailhouse. Ever since everyone who lived out there has come to town for protection or turn up missing those outlaws haven't lifted a finger to aid us. We don't want them here anymore," he pauses as a murmurs of agreement filters around his companions. "But how you rid yourself of a greater force when another rides into town? We're all farmers and craftspeople," he says motioning to the people seated at the table in an impassioned tone as the folks around him again nod or vocalize agreement. "None of us have ever held a gun or shot a bow that wasn't to feed ourselves but never...never at a man regardless of what tribe they belong too! We traded with your kind," he gestures to Hammond, "we all came out here for a better life but the promises made to us have not been fulfilled. That's why we brought you out here. That's why we've committed everything those bastard haven't taken to pay you all to get rid of them as well as the greater threat lurking in the hills," Silas finishes.
All his companions are younger but work or a greater force has warn them out. The bar is eerily silent now. The gal from behind the bar brings over a tray of shots, sixteen in total. The liquid is brown but murky. It smells more like lantern fuel than spirits...
"Stews coming up," she says giving the party a once over as her eyes linger on Flynn and Hammond before she swaggers away with a wink at both men.
OOC: Perception checks please. As well any response to Silas.
Flynn delivers a saucy wink back at the barmaid, then looks at Silas. "Sounds like you folks have yourself a conundrum, and you want us to fix it. I dont want to say it, but we don"t work for free. We have mouths to feed as well." He downs his glorified mud.

Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
“I will take responsibility for what I have done. [...] If must fall, I will rise each time a better man.” ― Brandon Sanderson, Oathbringer.
Hammond nods and sighs, not caring much if anyone had something to say about his mixed blood. As the drinks are brought over he raises a brow at the smell but takes one for himself as he nods to the woman, awkwardly returning the wink. "That makes sense. Can you give me details on the inside of the building they are and what type of weapons they keep."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
V raises a shot into the light to get a better look at the murky brown liquid and clicks her tongue dissatisfied at its appearance and sent but downs it without any further hesitation. She could feel it burn the back of her neck with little flavor to it, it was obvious to her it was a lower shelf brew. V then leans close to Tallinn, "Why is it so rare that we find a decent whiskey anywhere we go? I pray their food is better than their drink."
V tosses back another shot then turns to Silas, "You need to face the fact that not everything out here that wants to kill you is a beast. You need to be willing to draw on another man, hells there may even come a time you need to draw on a woman, if you ain't then there is no point in us saving this dirt ball of town you call home, cause once we leave after all is said and done some other bandit group will just step in and you all we be right back in this seat you are in now hoping some other folk will come rescue you."
"It's a large room with two cells at the back. Sheriff Greenwood had rifles and pistols. He and his two deputies were killed by those bandits weeks ago when they got off the last train," Silas explains. "Not sure what other kind of arms they have themselves. It's four men and a woman. The woman leads them. Zelda Griswold she told my wife her name is...she came here looking for something in the hills but turned on us as soon as the troubles started," he adds. "As for killing a man or a woman it's not in most folks nature to do so. We'll send for another lawman soon enough but right now what we need now is a real solution," he adds.
Hammond nods as he makes a mental note of the layout of the building they had been given. He turns to the rest of the party as he downs the rest of his shot. "That is helpful information. Now we need to decide on a plan of attack. I do not think it would be wise to rush in." His eyes then return to Silas. "Wouldn't on rather that we kill them or would it be more prudent to take them alive so that you new lawman can see that they face justice?"
"These people won't be taken alive or at least that's the impression they're giving," Silas replies.
"If you think you can deal with then peaceably where we have failed by all means," a pretty red headed woman speaks up she's been seated by Silas the whole time taking in every word spoken.
She then looks curiously at V who gets the distinct impression the woman recognizes her but is saying nothing.
Hammond is far too absorbed in the conversation to notice anything but Flynn notices a weaselly looking man slip out a side door.
V downs a third shot then leans back in her chair, "From what you are saying its doubtful that they are going to come peacefully. Zelda Griswold..." V thinks on the name for a moment trying to recall if she ever heard it before today.
V leans forward again then tosses back her forth shot, it still burns the back of her throat but at this point she as gotten used to it. Noticing the red hair woman's curious look V turns her attention to her, "I don't believe I caught your name miss."
OOC: I'd say Flynn and Hammond might have, history check. Tallinn being a barbarian dwarf not do much.
"Talia," the woman replies to V but doesn't say anything else.
The table then begins to depart. Silas lingers with the party as his wife and the others exit the saloon. The bartender then shuffles over.
"We're full up. I'd let you two linger at a table," he says to the humans, "but I run a respectable place...they," he jerks his head towards Tallinn and Hammond, "can't hang around. My paying customers won't like it much to have savages lingering around the place," he adds curtly with a hard expression.
Hammond rolls his eyes and looks at the man. "I was told my elven side was something to be ashamed of but more and more I find myself hating that fact that I am half human...." He gets up from the table, moving to step outside.
