With a smile on his face, Salazar attempts to raise the parent's opinion of the party. If Salazar is honest with himself, the smile is three-quarters due to he, not the brightest, nor the most likable of the group, not being the first one to show how clueless the party currently finds themselves.
"Well met Atuar Yudan, Tej Brewer. I am Salazar Roaringhorn, botanist and sometimes vinter. First I must ask, which of those lovely children is yours? <pause for identification of heirs>"Ah the one with the intelligent twinkle about the eyes and the agile child already in the tree sneaking a peek at how Lesley is hiding those playing cards. How did I not already guess? You are right to be proud of them. Very quick they are."
"Tell me please, my new friend, You say accommodations are available in the Red Bazaar? If you were kind enough to tell us which direction that is in, you'd have my sincere thanks. It is likely very obvious that this is our first time in Port Nee-an-zairoo. A delightful word to say!"
"And if I may bother you for one more question, I see the hill-top mansion you pointed out as Prince O'tamu's. It is that one? One-two-three from the edge? with the yellow walls and the red tile roofs? Fantastic! You are a life-saver, brother brewer, and I thank all the gods that provided your assistance when we needed it! I hope Helm ever protects you, Chauntea ever gives you abundant brews, and Waukeen keeps your purse inconveniently heavy."
Talin sees nothing to suggest any elven presence so he shifts his attention to the small group forming around Lesley. The perceptive elf follows their sight to the mansion and understands the meaning immediately.
The lithe elf leaps down from his perch and moves to join the group. Though he has lost none of his wonder at this place, his gazes falls resolutely on the great mansion. He begins to search for the quickest way to reach it.
As Talin looks he sees exactly what Atuar was talking about, from the red-tile rooves to the elegant fountains topped with gold pedigree, and the finely cut trees in the form of wondrous animals. It is quite a glamorous villa. He then follows a pathway and sees that if one were to head up the steps past the temple of Gond up towards the elevated area, one could then cross a bridge that would subsequently lead to the villa of Wakanga O'Tamu.
Atuar laughs with a rumble in stomach that flies forth like a roar of a lion. "I am very glad you ask Salezar Roarinhorn. She is that one." He then points to a small girl with a plethora of red, purple, and yellow flowers braided into her dark auburn hair. Atuar then waves to her and she waves back, smiling as she dances among the fountain spouts (which at this time is showing a humongous figure wielding a spear-like weapon). As Salazar then delivers his complements he bows "Ah. You are most kind, but I cannot be taking all of the credit. Salia is the true... how you say... creator of this blessing." He then looks over to one of the women sitting watching the children and waves. It is rather obvious where his young child gets her hair from as Salia's hazel eyes complement her auburn hair perfectly as she gives her husband a glance and a smile. "As for direction, if you want, I lead. I know..." he chuckles "Port Nee-an-zairoo like die rug van vuis, or as you say: 'back of hand.'"
Lesley also waves to the woman and turns to Atuar, “Apologies, I’m not used to being in foreign lands and so I try to speak Common slowly so that others can understand it clearer. However, you seem quite fluent, therefore apologies are in order.”A little ting of blush is across the bugbears face, indicating that he is a tad embarrassed, “My name is Lesley, Arcanist, and I would like to thank you for the generous offer.”Lesley shakes the man’s hand vigorously with both large bugbear hands.

The merchant heartily agrees eagerly shaking your hand. He then runs over to Salia and says something in the Chultan tongue. The woman eyes you all (especially the furry man) with a bit of a strange look, gazing up and down like a watchful guard sizing up her opponents, but eventually, nods to Atuar. At that he then hurries over to his daughter, scoops her up, tickles her and says more words in Chultan. He then places a kiss on her forehead, waves goodbye and moves back to all of you. "Indeed! This sound wonderful. I give the best tour. Jy sal nie vanaand oor verlore goud huil nie! or 'You will not be weeping over lost gold tonight!' as it is said in the common-speak. So, you want to go to Wakanga? Come I take you!"
Atuar leaves the fountain, waving goodbye to his wife and daughter, and then he eagerly bounds over to the middle of the street shouting to all of you, shouting: "We go! Come, you follow!" He then moves through the scene of the harbor and side of the temple of Gond. He then spreads his hands wide and shows out the whole harbor as the scene is laid out before you:
He then proudly says: "This is Harbor Ward. Many ships dock here, for Chult is prosperous in trade. Especially in tej" He then claps Lesley on the back once more, sending a shockwave through him that he'd probably have to go to a chiropractor to fix. The large Chultan then carries on with his introduction. He displays the docks that you started on: "These royal docks, used only by Princes, and those who serve them of course." He then turns out to the bay itself, standing in the center of which is a ginormous statue (easily 25 ft. in diameter and twice as tall) in full regalia, resplendent in a loincloth of leopard skin and a headdress of feathers, shells, and tyrannosaurus teeth; draped in a cape of girallon fur and monkey tails; and wielding an oval shield and some kind of strange spear-like weapon. "That is Great King, Na N'buso. His eminence shines down all dealings." He then turns a bit to the left and shows off a lighthouse at the end of the harbor. A flame burns atop it, sending great smoke clouds to the sky. "This be the lighthouse of Nyanzaru. Zindar ensures it is active always, along with many duties on harbor."
He then guides you up a marble stairway, and suddenly you feel like you've been transported. The people walking among this level wear elegant skins of jaguar and panther, with beautiful jewelry and gems the size of a halfling's fist adorning their wrists, necks, ears, and so much more. A couple people sneak glances towards you, and whispers can be heard about "...Strangers..." "...foreign..." "...what they?..." Nevertheless, Atuar gives no notice to the comments and instead jovially hums a rather catchy tune as he heads to this upper level. As you make it to the top of the steps he proudly displays the new district that you have found yourself in: "Now we come into Upper Merchant Ward! This where Merchant Princes and other wealthies live. I live in Market Ward myself." He puffs out his chest a bit as he says this to you all, but then pauses for a moment right before he turns around and asks: "Questions?"
{{How is it that some people enjoy such obvious wealth, while others clearly struggle to feed themselves? Does the chief not share resources equitably?}}
Atuar chuckles. "N'buso was king, no longer. Ancient lord of Nyanzaru, before Amn enter. As for Merchant Princes, they control all trade. Nyanzaru is economic power, and they have economic power in Nyanzaru. Each merchant swear fealty to prince. I swear to Kwayothe and she grant me right to sell Tej. Each prince controls different aspect of market, and they all very powerful. You do not cross any prince." He shakes his head and gives you all a concerned stare, only to then gesture to one of the adjacent villas. It seems like a good representation of Port Nyanzaru itself, for it's single elegant villa inside of a humongous elaborate garden full of ancient jungle relics. Bright tropical plants sprout up all throughout the property. "This Ifan Talro'a villa. He merchant of beasts!"
Atuar then moves along, passing by a long walkway full of flowers and streamers that ends in a building off the coast of Port Nyanzaru. It stands atop of rocky formation some two-hundred feet off of the coast. Steep steps wind up the cliff from the building's small harbor. The building itself is incredibly interesting, for as you look at it, it seems to be floating! The roof seems to stand above the rest of the building itself. Not only that, but the building itself catches the bright sun and gleams like a diamond in the light. "This temple of Sune. Great place to freshen up, they have nice private baths. Personally, I like public bathhouse though. Close and I meet many people! Come let continue up Temple Hill."
Lelsey’s eyes widen and a child-like smile streaks across his face as he looks to the bathhouse and then to the rest of them, “Baths!? Fantastic! I can’t think of the last time I had a true bath! Mostly just rivers and lakes...”

Visibly saddened, he trails along behind the others, fiddling with a flag stone he picked somewhere. Not even the opulence of the Sunese bathhouse rouses him.
Atuar shakes his head. "Those not best bathhouses though. Too much makeup, best bathhouse in market ward. Atuar assure you! One hundred per-cent." He then gives a thumbs up sign. As he rounds the next bend you see that there is a large building perched on the top of this hill. This building seems to be one of the oldest buildings in the entire city, and yet it seems to have been only recently worked on, as if the intent is to make it seem ancient. As you look it up and down the tiles give way to inscriptions of spheres of some kind, and as you look towards the top you can't help but notice there to be some kind of pattern formed of the tile roofing... if only you had a bird's eye view.
"This temple of Savras. I personally not come here very often, but still very nice temple atop temple hill." He then gestures around the courtyard that you are currently inside. "Not only that, but many princes nearby to temple. Jessamine, Jobal, and Kwayothe." He seems to emphasize his respective merchant princess, but for whatever reason you are unsure. As he points out each one, you get a basic glance of each enormous villa. Jessamine's is probably the most splendid of the bunch, and pillars jut out of the vibrant flowerful turf in front of her villa etched with snakes coiled around them, to the point where the pillars themselves seem to twist and contort. Jobal's villa is much more of an urban mansion when compared to the others. While he still has vegetation blooming throughout his property, your focus is drawn on the bright and modern colors used to paint the mansion, meanwhile an actual red carpet lines from the exterior in the Merchant Ward past the gates right up onto his doorway (which is guarded by several burly Chultans with strange spear-like weapons and shields). Finally, Kwayothe's villa cannot be discovered by sight, at least not at first. The first thing that allows for you to notice her villa is the smell. Even from this distance, the scent of perfume reaches your nostrils like some kind of Cloudkill. Not only that, but a column of braziers light the way from the exterior onto her doorstep, making the already scorching temperature even hotter as you near the villa.
Nevertheless, after showing you the respective houses, Atuar strolls on towards a bridge that runs right on over the ground below.
“Friend Atuar, We are new in the Port,” Salazar says with a kind reminder. “Would you please help me understand what each of the Merchant Princes sells? I caught that Prince… Talro’a wasn’t it? Are there any that are in competition with each other?”
Atuar looks towards Salazar. "Ah yes, you foreign. They control everything, but there no overlap of things. Rivalry already bad enough between some.
Indeed, Talro'a is beast-master. Kwayothe is pleasure-mistress. She control tej, fruit, oil, perfume, repellant, and other alcohols. Jessamine deal in exotic fruits, both of jungle, and creatures." After he says this though, his eyes begin to grow dark. "I warn you, foreigners. Do not cross princes, but no crossing of Jessamine the most." However, he immediately returns to his amiable self. "Jobal is supreme sellsword. All official guides must be registering with him. Then there Wakanga O'Tamu! He who you supposed to be meeting, no?" He pauses for a moment, assumedly receiving a positive response. "He is master of magicks. I see him often at bathhouse! He nice man. There also Ekene-Afa, she deal in traveling gear and fighting gear. She also control colosseum! Once great gladiator she was. Finally there Zhanthi, she wisest woman who control jewels, cloth, clothing, and armor. There is tell of royal blood in Zhanthi's veins, of ancient Chult!"
“I see, I see. Such a vibrant and diverse culture.
