i've created most of my backstory of Willard. I'll add the rest once I have some more lore.
I also looked at everyone else creating their characters on heroforge, so I thought I might try too. It is my first hero I've ever created there, so don't expect a masterpiece: https://www.heroforge.com/load_config=10550562/
While waiting on the following lore posts, I might as well post my backstory for Willard.
Willard was born in a small town in Puhan. Ever since he was a child, he has been fascinated by that so-called Great Divide up in the sky. As he grew older and wiser, he studied more and more about the Divide. He has for a long time planned to visit it, despite the stories of those who venture there. However, he knows it will be dangerous and as such he is currently working tirelessly to find resources and allies in order to chart an expedition there.
During his studies he also came into contact with magic. He was particulary interested in illusion magic (hence why I chose the School of Illuision tradition). He also learned Abyssal, the language of demons, from studying ancient demonic texts.
Willard values his freedom highly - his freedom to learn, to explore, to observe. He does not have a problem with killing to get what he wants, although he tries to avoid it. He'd do almost anything for a new bit of knowledge. His thirst for knowledge has consequences however. In fact, if a demon were to escape from that mirror world and start wreaking havoc, rather than running Willard would stop and take notes on its anatomy. This also means that he is one of few people to actually keep and study mirrors, despite their connection to the demonic mirror world.
To top it all of, here's some appearence info: Willard is close to true blood of a Puhan. He is slightly mixed with Duranian blood. However, since he is a changeling, he can assume the appearence of a true blood of any people. Some visible equipment is a dagger and a quarterstaff, which he always carries with him. He also carries a backback with a bedroll strapped to it as well as a spellbook with a depiction of a dragon on it.
nice one. well since we are doing backstories, here's the story of Connor.
Connor Liadon grew up on the streets of the Capital City of the Durunian empire. from a young age he learned how to find what he needed, and who had it. at the age of 16, he had enough skills and street smarts to gain the attention of the City guard. He became one of the youngest recruits to be enlisted in a special program called Blackwatch, a program designed to turn soldiers and scouts, into spies and infiltrators.
during his time in Blackwatch, he became close to his squad mates and spent most of his free time with them. when he was 24, he and his squad were assigned an infiltration mission to the capitol of Puhan. While on the job, Connor slipped up and called one of his squad by their real name. the small little mistake caused his squad to be captured, tortured, and eventually left for dead in the mountains to the north. He spent days in pain and agony with broken ribs, shattered bones and a large open wound where his arm used to connect to his shoulder.
weeks later, Connor woke up in a strange facility full of machines and robotic parts. a doctor by the name of Dr. Amelia Xailo had found him barely alive in the mountains on one of her excavations to find precious metals. She returned him to her laboratory, where she nursed him back from the brink of death. after a few more weeks of recovery (and a new mechanical limb), she gave him a choice, return to Durunian where he would be cast aside as a wounded soldier who was unfit for duty, or stay with her and she would offer him a new life.
Now, at the age of 27, Connor spends his days working with Dr. X in her lab, but at night he roams the cities of Puhan as a bounty hunter. using his new biotic enhancements, and a few spells he's picked up along the way, he has become known to many as the Wolf of Puhan. the name is well known, and well feared, name across many cities and those who become targeted by him, rarely see him coming.
Hey guys. Really sorry to break bad news, but both campaigns are cancelled. Family emergency.
