Totally ignoring if the new-comer is a threat or not, Ellren went to examine the writings that seem to be of Dwarven origin.
Upon closer inspection, you realize the words are carved or dented into the metal wall. It only took minutes when he realized that the texts were written backwards, as if it was meant to be read from the outside. And he also notices some words dented and warped, as if it was edited, or was corrupted. Some of the letters were still stained with the blood of the displacer beast.
You partially reads but maybe grammatically inaccurate, "Granted able summon to (edited: you) place/person (of) in need (randomly), by (blow) sacrifice of blood, of owners will."
Sensing everyone was quite disconnected and out of focus, Saproth put out a suggestion, "Maybe we could get more answers after we've finished breakfast..." seeing everyone was getting agitated and annoyed. "Perhaps we can try to scrounge up something from the forest?"
Saproth walked up to Hreddun, "I apologies if I was a bit guarded with you before, I am Saproth," he introduced himself. "Any ideas what is going on?"
"I'll come with you." Saproth said, but made sure everyone knew where they were going.
Saproth reached Hreddun and asked, "I meant... do you have any idea how you got here? I dont remember you joining our expedition. What were you doing before you found yourself within the cave?"
With Hreddun's proficiency in hunting he finds various tropical fruits and what looks like a peacock hen.
With his druidcraft, Saproth tries to start a fire close to the hill where the cave mouth has found itself.
Saproth tries to call everyone around it and offers them the bananas he has found. Hopefully, everyone sits around and has a moment of peace. "Well..." He began, "I guess we will be together for an extended period. I hope you were not planning something urgent before taking this mission... I don't see a way for us to be returning to where we came from any time soon... unless one of you has an idea how to get back?" Saproth looked around for a response.
"Why dont we try to get along and make the best of what we have right now..." He nodded. "As we were rudely interrupted before, I would like to re-introduce myself. I am Saproth Orphanwood, and I am a Druid by profession. I would like our time together to be pleasant and fruitful, for whatever time it would have to be."
"I'm Ellren. I do enjoy studying and reading anything I can find. I'm here in pursuit of the questions and answers of this cave.... But come to think of it, I've seem to have forgotten what my question was..." I stare at the fire, puzzled to have forgotten the motive of my pursuit.
Saproth thought a while, while taking a bite of banana. "Can it be possible Dwarvish words have double meanings?" Saproth wondered, "Like the word Affect and Effect... there are probably words like that in Dwarvish that can make it confusing in translation."
The fire crackled as it was about to die. Saproth took another piece of kindling to keep the fire alive. "If only we could have spoken with that Hobgoblin," Saproth sighed. "Before..." but then he caught himself from finishing the sentence. He didnt want to risk to offend anyone, especially those that might take it the wrong way.
"I had a curious dream before I woke up with all of you here. It was about a storm giant named Orfus..." He then remembered. "Does anyone have any idea who he is?"
As a member of the dwarven race, myths and legends of the great war between the giants and dragons persists in stories and song. Bramnus remembers one particular tail of a Storm Giant named Orfus, that blew his horn to honor the gods in every battle he partook.
"Interesting," Saproth nodded as a new theory formed in his mind, "Very interesting indeed. And you were alone? What were you doing previous to finding us?"
But looking into the faces of his comrades, Saproth realized he hasnt the complete pleasure of knowing everyone else. "Please, the rest of you, would you introduce yourselves.

Eraqrin decides to use one of his claws and slit a tiny cut in his arm to draw blood, and then wipes the trickle of blood on the wall.

"Glad to meet you, Ellren." Saproth smiled, "Did you happen to read what was written in the cave? I dont read Dwarvish..."
"I did; however, I couldn't make much sense of it. Something about a blood sacrifice to summon a place or person."
Saproth thought a while, while taking a bite of banana. "Can it be possible Dwarvish words have double meanings?" Saproth wondered, "Like the word Affect and Effect... there are probably words like that in Dwarvish that can make it confusing in translation."
