The bound man on the ground looks at you Tuli and speaks, "Thank you for stopping them.Forgive me, I am just a confused young man caught in troubling times. I just took this job for the few coins promised to me. I just want to see my family again. Please, if you would, give me a little water out of my waterskin, I need to wash this blood out of my mouth. Your compatriots keep kicking me.." He seems to be ignoring Rico's question as he maintains eye contact with Tuli.
The woman blinks back at you(Sven), you are unsure if it was a sign or out of necessity. "My husband.." she takes a deep breath, "was killed a few years back when he was out adventuring. I don't know if I am quite ready to go to the waterfall with another man, but perhaps you could take me out to dinner."
"I know great place beautiful lady. Let us go to Honey Orchid. It great place, I always want to try the food there. I can finally afford after circus job. What name beautiful lady? Sven no catch it before."
I move over to the steps downstairs. Shouting loudly "Boss man, Sven go get food with friend. I find you later here or inn." Walking back to the lady, I escort here through town to the famed Honey Orchid restaurant.
"Hello I am Sven, and this is my lovely date. We get seats for two. Can I get Vodka soda and she can have Vodka Cranberry." I attempt to impress her with tale of valor, and talk of my kids the most important thing to me. "I work hard in Lord Donnovich army to fight for my kids Peter and Anna. Help give them future. We fought against an insidious enemy, an enemy who would destroy the commonwealth. Who would have our nation crumble from within. We was strong enough to fight the enemy faction and prevail."
After hearing the man ask for his flask I quickly swipe the mans flask away from Tuli while he's not looking (pickpocket 19). I grow more skeptical of the bound man, he may have spiked this flask with something to end his life as to not reveal any secrets.
Hearing Sven yell down, and being wholly uninterested in what this beat up loser has to say I run upstairs to see Sven's friend and check on my new biggest fans. As I reach the top of the stairs, I'm mildly impressed by Sven's game. I mean, I can pull way hotter tail, but good to know I have a competent wingman now. I wave to Sven and give him a cheeky wink.
I find the children in the same room. I walk up and ask them "How are you guys doing? I took care of the bad men downstairs. I pulled out my strap and laid them busters down!"

I reach for my personal water bottle and hold it out to the lips of the man on the ground. I notice, though not quickly enough, that his waterskin is missing from where I placed it next to me. Ey-Eynak and his friend have left the room so only Rico could have taken it. I acknowledge this fact but don’t address it assuming he means well.
“If possible I can bring a message to your family on my travel. Tell me about them? Tell me about you? What brought you to such a place?” As I say this I pull out my sketch pad where I have been sketching maps and taking notes on my journey, I turn to a blank page “what would you have me tell them?”
He quickly drinks a small amount of water and then spits some of it out. You notice that the water he spit it is stained red. "Thank you, I had to rinse the taste of blood out of my mouth. Please bring this message to my brother Kevin, he lives in the trade district here in the city. Please tell him, 'Kevin, I love Lisa. Theodore Haynes expects money.' This would mean the world to me if you could do this. It is just my brother and me, our parents were taken from us at a young age. I'm just doing this for money for the two of us."
Sven
"My name, well my name is Althea." She seems to swoon over your stories of valor. "You are a very brave and strong man, Sven. I could really use someone like you in my life. Do you leave the city and go adventuring often?"
Ey-Eyank
They both look much happier than they were previously. The girl pulls out a small book with a quill. "Do...do you think I could get your autograph?"
I begin writing down the message he gives me for Kevin, “Kevin, I love Lisa. Theodore Haynes expects money.” after he is done talking I lift him up to his feet gently “Can you tell me about the man who was dressed as a priest? or why he killed Father Antonio?”
As he talks I begin walking upstairs with him—looking for a temple guard to securely hand him over for the temple of Pelor to cast judgement.
"Rico, we did well together and I would be glad to have you carry this message with me? Maybe we can learn more about this Theodore Haynes? We both sought to protect the father and we both failed. Maybe there is still a change to make things right"
Before we drop off the man I say to him "I'm sorry for kicking you earlier... but you know you did just help someone get murdered, and not just anyone a Holy Man? I'm sure you're sorry for what you've done, maybe you can help make this right." I pull out the parchment he was found with "We need all the help we can get, what language is this?"
After hearing the man speak I respond to Tuli "We did do well together, I'm very curious as to what's going on here, none of this makes sense. I'll come along to learn more, I think Theodore is a good place to start, we should see if that Ey-Eynak man wanted to come along, he could be useful."
"Sven does what Sven need to survive. No much work here in Grebook for retired solider like Sven, guards no fun. Sven more nomad. No stay in place long, work travels so does Sven." I take a drink from my glass. "You should come with Sven. Sven protect you and you make Sven happy." I attempt to gauge how open she seems to life on the road. "It no be fare make you wait Sven, while Sven travel lots. One day Sven hope have own house again, but need get money first. Sven like you be part of journey, cause it more fun then destination."
Sven Althea stares into your eyes for a brief moment, seeming to be lost. "I suppose I could use a little change of scenery; I haven't left the city for quite some time. I would need to grab some things from my home before we depart, however. Is this okay with you?" She takes a moment to think before adding, "I would also like you to keep me informed of any adventures you go on, I want to make sure you are safe."
Rico & Tuli "I don't know much about him; he gave me a real uneasy feeling when I was around him, however. He also always seemed to be able to know what I was doing, I never figured out how he did that. All I do know is that he is accumulating artifacts for some sort of ritual, he gets his order from some mirror he carries on his person." He looks towards Rico, "I don't know, I'm sure you can find someone at the library who might be able to help you with that."
As you reach the top of the stairs, you don't see any authority figures. The guard that was with you quickly suggest, "Why don't we drop him off with the city guard? They have pretty frequent patrols through this area."
Ey-Eynak The girl closes the book and holds it to her chest with a wide smile on her face. As you spin around, you see four figures coming up the stairs in the corner, one of the men is bound and walking peacefully with the other three, his head hangs low.
"No rush Althea. We have time to relax. You be informed cause you be with Sven." After we wrap up dinner, I would head back to the inn to see if the boss is around.

As we leave the temple I notice a collection plate at the doorway, I drop in the 4 silver pieces I had collected off of the man hearing them click against other donations.
I nod to the guard “I think that is a wise idea, they will know the proper ways to pass judgement.” As we hand him over to the guards I briefly explain to them our encounter “This man, due to some debt, worked with another man who are in search of and killed Father Antonio and another at the temple of Pelor. He and another ambushed use and we were able to capture him alive. The temple will be able to tell you more, but for now please hold him until a fair judgement can be passed.”
I make my way with the group in the direction of the tavern talking with them as we go.
Ey-Eynak Did we kick any more information out of the goon?
Rico Just a little, he gave us a message to his Brother Kevin, and some guy name Theodore Haynes expects money. We also learned apparently the guy who we met before you helped is taking orders from a mirror and collecting artifacts.
Tuli I plan to hand him over to someone who can cast judgment fairly and then deliver his message to his family and seek the answers to the questions we have.
Do you think his family knows anything?
His brother might know more about Theodore Haynes. That’s my hope. I can’t leave the fathers death unresolved.
So what is in this for you are you a part of this church
The church is wider than this temple - it is the body of people who follow Pelor- I follow and seek to serve and help those who his light shines down upon. I don’t know what might be at the end of this path - but a good man was murdered - a seeker like me - like all of us.
What is a seeker? Like a talent scout?
We are all seeking something - fame, wealth, family, peace, shallow coverings for Pelors light. I seek a place where the sun never dims - where Pelors followers find rest.
I guess you could call me a seeker as well.
I am glad to hear it Ey-Eynak, my friend Rico here is as well. Tuli pats Rico on the back.
I think we should head to the inn on the way to see how Sven's date went.... or maybe we should check in the morning.
Yeah, let's head to the Tavern for a drink! First round is on me!
I will catch up with you at the tavern shortly; I feel as though someone must let the family know where their brother is, for their own safety. I will join you for dinner in an hour.
Rico Rico reaches behind his back and quickly grabs a handful of silver out of the collection bowl, making sure that no one notices. (Sleight of Hand: 15) (6 sp added to Rico's inventory)
Rico & Ey-Eynak You reach The Wandering Frog Inn and Tavern. From outside you can see shadows cast on the dark stained glass windows and can hear cheerful banter from inside.
Sven As you approach Iron Shepard, you see Clifton hanging a sign on the wall outside the door. He notices you as you draw near, "Ay, you aren't going to find any lodging here for the night all my rooms are taken. I decided to loan all of my extra rooms to the city to tend to the wounded from the circus fire. And before ye ask, my casks are all dried up."
Tuli As you hand of your prisoner to the guard, you notice the bound man look at you and shake his head from left to right, mouthing the words "don't go"
As I hand over the man to the guard I see him shake his head and mouth the words "don't go". I let my group branch off toward the tavern after a quick conversation and I circle back to the guard. "Sir, I will come with you to escort him and find that he arrives safely." I discreetly search the mans face looking for an indication of what to do - or a moment when he might explain his message.
I pause for a moment and pull out the message I had written down, glancing over it (INT roll 19) I notice a pattern in the message, “Kevin, I love Lisa. Theodore Haynes Expects Money.”
K-I-L-L T-H-E-M.
I quickly glance at him, at the message, back at him, I place a hand on his arm and lean in closer to him, "I want to help, if I find your brother and he attacks we will have no choice but to defend ourselves. I do not seek his death. If you have any help to give, any hope of seeing your brother once more, tell me now."
Tuli "I have no interest in seeing him ever again, kill him if you must," the man says as a wave of anger washes over his face. "He is the reason I am in the damned mess, to begin with, he may know more information about those who are giving the commands but be careful, he is ruthless." The anger begins to fade from his face as you can see him start to think, "...If you can get in through the backdoor, you might catch him by surprise," a smirk begins to creep its way on to his face. "By the way, I'm Zelik Gurov, and my brother's true name is Miro. Thank you for your kindness."
"Thank you Zelik Gurov, we met under darkness but I wish you light." I squeeze his shoulder slightly and then turn to the guard I had handed him over to. I give him a single gold as subtly as I can, "Make sure Zelik arrives safely to the prison so that he might be judged for his actions." I then turn back to Zelik and quickly write a note for him to keep.
Zelik Gurov was involved with the murder of two fathers in the church of Pelor, he was taken captive during battle. He has provided those tasked with bringing justice, on the churches behalf, with information. If our quest should be fruitful, I will speak for him in court.
Tuli - of the longrain clan - of Pelor
